New Alchemer line: Using Nova line as an example

Prismatech Alchemer**
Prismatech Phaser***
Prisma Lancer****
Nova Lancer*****

This branch for all of the Alchemers would give it another unique ability. Since 2* version of Alchemer has no special abilities other than be slow and have a simple splitting charge, I figured 3* should be where the specialness begins.

The Lancer/Phaser line, instead of ricocheting, pierces through enemies (no, not piercing damage, still their respective damage types)
Of course, because the piercing would hit more enemies, it would do less damage maybe 75% of the Driver damage.
The Lancer/Phaser would be able to pierce through an infinite amount of enemies (including damage to shielded monsters, for Pvp, it would just phase through and deal damage to the shield.) but like its counterpart, has a limited range.

The charge is identical, except the fact that the main bullet pierces through enemies and only explodes when it hits a solid block or reaches its range limit. As for when it does hit, the bullets would still fan out in that umbrella, but would pierce enemies instead until it hits solid block (not including breakable blocks, phases through and deals 1 layer of damage to rock blocks, only stops when it hits indestructable block) or reaches its range.

This idea was suggested because I have noticed, that unlike its bomb and sword counterparts, it can only deal the status to a very small amount of enemies but high damage. This gun trades some damage for the ability to not be blocked by enemies and deal its status freely, for nova and umbra lancers, they would still do 75% of their counterpart damage ( their counterparts already have higher damage than the status Alchemers.)

Yes, it can hit shielded monsters.
Yes, it will do great damage when the monster happens to be in just in front of the splitting point.
Yes, it will have identical range.

Errm I'm not really good at making descriptions, if you guys like the idea, then you try making one........seriously,though, I will likely make the worst description possible

If you read all of this.......you deserve one of my famous brimstone cookies

mmm

concept is good, but:
alchemers' bullets do not explode, so it shouldn't this one's.
the "pierces infinite enemies" thing makes it OP, because a shadowtech could destroy a pack of gemlins/slimes in not many shots.
the "pierces shields" thing, that would lead to OPness because:
corner a trojan (use pulsar line) while your teammate charges this.
then trojan is cornered, unleash charge.
trojan dead, next one.
oh, and the above could be done on any enemies, so OP to the max.

so, no. too many things to get this OP. either nerf damage or range.

Oh yea, I completely forgot bout Trojans

Likely nerf to damage because it was meant to spread status, thx for pointing that out, maybe 50%

And actually, that ring around every Alchemer shot contact is actually a very small splash radius, this is why I say explode, but burst or any other word would be good.

Bullet appearance, 50% thinner, 133% more elongated, travels slight faster than counterpart

Gun appearance: something that looks like that it can fire a single, very powerful shot, maybe gun handle attached to a cylinder similar to neut/bio, and with a crystal representing the damage type and status

Aside from the topic, Nova driver needs a cool particle effect like its other Alchemer counterparts

Huh

So it's basically an elemental version of a Phantom's Flintlock.

Kind of

Kind of, but because of the velocity increase, think of it as an elemental reverse shotgun

The Magnus line needs no power decreases, for magnuses only need power.....

It would make it OP, because it's not like we have another weapon that does the exact same thing.

Read!!!!!!

50% of Alchemer counterpart damage, meant to deal light damage to a group of enemies from afar, allows better status spread for a gun, also can attack through a shielded monster, just with light damage, like about 104 per shot of nov/umb

@hex

brandish series is OP. making a comparison doesn't help.
saw damage tables, and 50% is too much. 75% and a pierce limit will do, as long as the bullets deal no knockback or a very little knockback and they lose power when pass though enemies. also, shield should be counted as one enemy.

Deep

I think maybe 60% then, because its meant to cover EVERYTHING in a certain area, not like a bomb, because a bomb would deal more damage, but would not spread the statuses too well against shields, think of it as the gun version of Dark Retribution

So basically what you're saying is... If I get two of these and use Justifier Set and Swiftstrike, I can circle around a group of slimes once and then kill the whole group in seconds?

And I don't think it should go through shields.

And I don't think it should go through shields.

Why not? another weapon does?

(I'm just having fun mocking weapon balance atm ^w^)

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Personally, I think the Iron Slug needs this more than the Alchemers. The Iron Slug needs some love!

Meh

I do agree iron slug needs a buff, but to live up to its name, it should only be good, solid damage
