I'm sure that we've all had our fair share of disuses of heat after getting our gear to level 10. It may be possible to commit pixelated suicide and allow a party member to revive you and get a portion of your heat, but unfortunately that's not always possible...
My idea:
Players should be given a second heat gauge that is filled over time by completing depths and earning the heat that those specific depths offer. This second heat gauge would be filled by the first heat gauge(The first heat gauge is the one that's near your shield bar). If the first heat gauge is full, then at the end of the depth your second heat gauge will fill up by 25% more than what it was before. Once it is at 100% you would be able to choose a weapon/armor piece/armor set/shield to boost by 1 level for 1 depth. You would only be able to level up 1 weapon with the gauge fully heated. If you don't have a matching overall and helmet to wear then you will only be able to boost 1 of the armors by a level. If you have a matching overall and helmet to wear then you'll be able to boost them both by 1 level. If you decide to boost a shield by one level, it will only boost the shield alone.
The heat gauge would remain the same if you left the Clockworks or a mission. It would still remain the same even if you logged off and back on. You would also be able to view the gauge at the end of depths on the discretion interface and also remotely check it from your cradle, Haven, guild hall, etc... And I forgot to mention, you would be able to pick the gear to boost from your arsenal. You would be able to identify which piece of gear was boosted by a special symbol. It also wouldn't be effected if you logged off and back on. If you end up doing a run in the Clockworks, you wouldn't be able to fill up your secondary heat gauge until you used the item that you boosted.
Notes:
• Secondary heat gauge would only fill up over time if all of your gear is level 10 at the moment of which you obtain the heat.
• I would say that level 10 gear would be the only gear possible to level up to 11.
• Remember, I'm just giving the developers a "basic" format that they can review and do whatever they want with it afterwards.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think!
Would one full heat bar heat one 5* item the same as one 1* item?
