Allow knights to warp to the beginning of all six stratums

Simple: Instead of being able to warp to just depths 0, 8 and 18, let knights choose to begin at depths 4, 13 and 23.

Warping to depths 4, 13 and 24 would cost 100, 200 and 500 crowns (particular prices open for debate), but you must first have reached the depth of that particular gate, similar to how you unlock free warps for depths 0, 8 and 18.

Basil will not have anything in stock if you warp directly to his depth, but you will be allowed to access shadow lairs.

No matter what, warping costs crowns? I'm good with that idea

I don't know....

Because those warp points all lead to even stratums. Even stratums are the most profitable and incase you haven't noticed, you'll make more money doing stratum 2 than 3, same for 4 than 5. I reckon this feature could be used for farming crowns, but what the heck.

[update]

Actually I think that warp to D24 should cost more, because you can make around 7K+ (?) and 500 is a bit cheap. I'd say atleast 1K crowns.

nah.

FSC is used to farm crowns, this thing would do nothing.
+1 to the idea.

You can make 7k+ from just doing the first four levels of FSC, and then an additional 3K from just doing Vana. And yes, the point is to be able to warp to the stratums that give the most direct payout so players don't feel like they have to be grinding that one mission to get the most for their mist without messing around in markets.

1k seems alright, though. I'm open for debate on the exact prices.

I think you can already do this with a friend. If your friend is at a terminal, join them and it'll still be the same. But however I'll give a +1 for the shadow lair part and instantly warping without a friend

It's so annoying when you only got enough energy for a shadow lair instead of wasting 50 mist energy.

Make us pay for these, remove the costs of joining at subtowns.

Basically i agree with this idea, but i agree more with juances, make subtowns free and make us pay for joining on at depth 4, 13 and 24. i would like to see how that works though.

So +1

agreeing with Klipik more here :l

yah I dunno, whats the real point to this? People will just do the KOA mission instead so they don't have to pay the 500 crowns. This "could" work if we balanced out missions but I doubt that will happen. I get this to let people jump to the better paying spectrum but wouldn't they just be having less crowns in the end from spending more then they gained from the earlier spectrum? If any thing this would just move the vanduke problem to the arcade if we removed pay out on missions. So sure, everyone would pay 500 crowns but are we doing the one time pay for that arcade thing or are we doing a "pay each time" thing?
We could make warping to a spectrum with a boss directly after it cost more or at least the tire 3 boss.

For now i'm not sure, this would be interesting but I don't really think this would help anyone any more then the missions already do is all :l

Tough one

One fix. I'd make it cost crowns until you reach the depth, just like subtowns are run, so that you can pay to warp any time you want to warp.

This is tough. Personally, I like the idea, but Klipik has a valid argument. I would say that you should do this because it would encourage exploration (first stratum of each tier is always too easy so I head to missions), but it would also mess up the whole mission grinding thing that Klipik implied. However, boss stratums are referred to as "locked" and thus could actually be "locked", blocking a warp path from going down there. Actually, doing the warp idea and allowing it to go down to boss stratums would not affect grinding as a player would actually have to use the same amount of energy and a few extra crowns to achieve about the same profit as with the mission system. If done with a non-FSC boss stratum, the preceding levels would make the missions system still worth more than warping in the arcade. I give this idea a 9/10 because I'd like to be able to do random levels at the level of difficulty that can only be obtained at the bottom of stratums, though it doesn't definitively fix a problem.

Why bother charging crowns for a warp at all when the King of Ashes mission does not? If the goal is to get players to play the game and experience content, you should in fact charge crowns or prevent King of Ashes from being replayed (at all, or multiple times a day). The crown fee is an outdated measure to get players to play the upper stratum of a tier before the mission system came out, and makes zero sense. Don't penalize players for branching out and playing the game. In fact, what I suggest is:
1. Remove all crown fees. Or only charge a fee when jumping to the lower half of a tier
2. Reduce mission payouts or replayability.
3. Weight the probability of Basil's recipe toward those unobtainable in Hall of Heroes or Mission Lobbies. This is important, because prior to Missions, the ONLY way to obtain high level recipes was Basil; post-missions, Basil is basically worthless except for a few extremely elusive recipes. Your reward for playing the less profitable upper strata is recipes.
4. The upper strata of a tier might also provide more mats, if the recipe boost is not incentive enough

I agree with Klipik. Also, subtowns can be free if you go from one subtown to another. (Or from Tier 1 into Tier 2).

Nah, people are meant to waste their mist/CE while going to the SLs, to waste even more CE and mist. OOO Logic.
