Revive Sleep!

Now I know it says "Revive Sleep!", but I was thinking of just making it slightly more useful than Curse.

I have a few ideas about what OOO could do by reviving the Sleep Status, as currently it is useless...

-Bring back Slooms and it's gate. I've seen a super-short clip of it and it looks extremely fun (The area, theme and the monsters.)

Slooms were removed because players could heal themselves, so I was thinking that still make it so general monsters that get inflicted with sleep can heal but make it so you don't gain any health yourself.

-Introduce 2 new Sleep weapons:

Handgun:
Autogun - Sleepy Needle - Drowsy Needle - Somnolent Needle
Slight Chance of causing Strong Sleep

Same damage as Plague Needle, but basically different status. I had an idea which on the tip of the barrel where on the Blitz Needle it usually glows, I was thinking that it could have big and small Z's. ZzZzZzZ going round the end of the barrel instead of the halo-like glowing tip. The gun would be also be a dark blue.

Bomb:
Sleepy Vaporizer - Sleepy Vaporizer Mk ll - Sleepy Atomizer - ???? (I was thinking snooze and something else or the other way round but I can't think of any other names.)

Strong chance of causing Minor Sleep.
Damage would be nerfed to keep other mist bombs useful, because of how powerful Sleep is.

Again, same damage as mist bombs, but just a different status.
If you have any better names for these weapons, please say so!

Also it wouldn't be a massive difference but if the sleep bomb was added to the game then that would make Mad Bomber set be slightly more useful if you were a bomber and had the Sleep mist bomb.

-I also had an idea that was to change Shadow Lair Royal Jelly Palace to Sleep theme instead of Freeze. I wanted to note it down here but not suggest it. The issue with this is that it would mess up the Wiki, Ice Queen set and so on. But I thought of this because Shadow Lair Firestorm Citadel is Cursed themed (with a bit of fire). I thought that we could do the same for Royal Jelly Palace. I also wanted a way to make Royal Jelly set, Plate set, Ancient Plate set, and possibly any other sets with a sleep resist/penalty have a use. I would still love for this to be added, but it's highly unlikely that this could happen. Also my idea was that instead of it being light like in the Royal Jelly Palace, it would be dark/night-time. My last idea I came up with was this was that infact it was both FREEZE and SLEEP. So it would still be snowing, but night time, with some sleep monsters in it.

Remove the healing and we have an overpowered freeze. Who would want a shivermist when sleep mist prevents enemies from moving AND counterattacking? (more so in LD...)

See, sleep would be a top tier status like curse, only avaliable to limited weapons and drawbacks included.

Fair enough.

But keep in mind that all mist bombs are Strong chance of causing Minor (status). I apologise that I forgot to add that, but Minor sleep wouldn't last long at all, perhaps the damage could be nerfed. But with the Handgun remember that you cannot move while firing the gun. I didn't suggest a Sword because it would be OP, but I feel like a Sleep gun and bomb fits well. I appreciate your response by the way, I shall update my post slightly.

About sleep element

A sleepy flourish would be good :

3* : fair chance of minor sleep. (only in charge attack)

4* : good chance of minor sleep. (only in charge attack)

5* : fair chance of minor sleep.

Why does the 4* flourish have a better chance of causing sleep than the 5* while the others have a lower chance?

@OP

Bombers would use sleep bombs for LD, camp them and they can't move. They would keep on spamming those bombs until they've died or a team mate just kills the knight who is asleep.

Also, I can give you names for the sleep bomb. They're just original and weird names. >_>

2* - Sleepy Bomb
3* - Snoring Bomb
4* - Doze Bomb
5* - Falling Doze Bomb

Agreed with Juances. To bring back Sleep in all its former glory it'd need to be a top-tier status along with Curse (so, rare and also with a self-inflicting drawback) because of its ability to render you completely defenceless. Because of its potency Sloom lairs would need to be kept in high-end maps or limited to events.

Bosses and Constructs aren't affected by it so in itself it has its own drawbacks.

I don't even know why this game has sleep or even still uses it. whenever i get a sleep vial i just chuck it at the nearest monster to clear up space. if there's only construct, i'll throw it off the edge and see how far it'll go. it's become the pretty much useless status and it makes no sense that a bunch of items have sleep resistance but not one, NOT ONE, not even a single one of every monster in the clockworks can deal sleep. -_-'

I didn't say to add a Sleep sword because it would be OP. Tha main type of weapon used and it would deal one of the most powerful statuses. Especially if it was another toothpick. I'm sorry but that is not a good idea, because think about LD.

@Autofire Hmm... Iron Sleepy Slug? :3

Infact, slugs/snails don't sleep.

@Skyguarder The bomb is another Mist bomb, so it's going to follow the other names trend.

Why not I dunno... Make a new status to replace it? one that does something new and provides a new threat and use to players.

"new threat and use to players." Like Little-Jaunces said, it's a top-tier status, like Curse. So it would have to be used in places like Ultimate Royal Jelly Palace.

Nope, that's the shivermist line.

Freeze and Sleep are similar effects. Adding it to SL RJP makes it pointless as you're unable to move once your frozen.

For the Bomb...

Perhaps making it so that the damage dealt against Knights would be reduced when they are put into sleep in places like LD but not when they are in the clockworks? Even if it's just implemented that way as "An armor advancement that puts players into an Armor-Lock when falling asleep is initiated when going into LD" or something like that. It'd still be a strong bomb... But... If the damage is reduced to, say, around Half? Maybe even a quarter? Then it wouldn't be TOO OP for gaming. It'd still be OP, but people would probably just start hating on it like the Hammer and the Polaris. :\

Side note: It doesn't sound too realistic that Knights would give up such a rare feature in their armor after finishing a round of PvP but... It's a game, it doesn't have to make sense. :\

It could be the same for constructs in the Clockworks, this way, Sleep couldn't be used as an "All-around OP Mist Bomb" but rather just for 2/3ds of the enemy types (which doesn't sound like much, but... Hey, it's something, right?). It could also be changed to make higher restorative buffs then the sleep we get from Vials right now. That way it'd be more like a "Retreat" bomb and would only be truly useful if you focus on one enemy at a time (which would take time, so other bombs, like the Shiv would be more preferred for immobilization techniques by some bombers).

Also, increasing the amount of health regenerated by monsters the higher the Tiers go could Nerf it enough to make Shiv more useful. And just as long as the Health regen. doesn't outdo the DPS of, say, a full clip of Valiance shots it'd be fine. (Just so that it doesn't become useless from the Nerfing.)

Also, for the naming... How about:

2* - Dream Vaporizer
3* - Dream Vaporizer Mk II
4* - Lethargic Atomizer
5* - Slumber Shroud

Here is the issue though Levenza, sleep boiled down to it's bare substance is stronger freeze, so it really isn't any thing special. Unless I am mistaken you wake up when you take damage, even if the heal during sleep was removed it would still be pretty much a stronger freeze.
What I like in my games and I would assume others is variety, difference from others. I don't want a game were half the status are slightly, barely different form the others. I hate the brandish and alchemer lines because they are so copy pasta.
If we just re-add sleep all we will be doing is making a stronger freeze. This is why I think we should instead be working on a new status that would offer a new tool to players as in threats to them.
