Chaos Cloak/Cowl gives a very high damage bonus and charge time reduction on all weapons, while the Mad Bomber gives it for only bombs. The only difference in the sets is the fact that the Chaos set gives a reduction in curse resistance. Having made my Mad Bomber before the Chaos Cloak/Cowl was buffed kind of makes it more painful on my end. There is no reason it should be so directly outclassed for a set that specializes in making bombs powerful. Either Mad Bomber needs to be changed in some way, or the Chaos Set does.

Their mistake started with buffing Chaos too much and now it's too late to backtrack without upsetting everyone who made Chaos for the buff. Buffing Mad Bomber to +3 damage bonus a piece seems plausible (maybe even Shadowsun) but I don't think nerfing Chaos again will go down well.

Here's what I think.
I think OOO haven't nerfed chaos or mad bomber because the sets leading up to the am bomber set have the buff of CTR low on the helm and body while the sets leading up to chaos have no buff. This is why chaos has the buff of effecting all weapons. The reason why many knights who choose to be bombers pick the mad bomber line over the chaos is because of the effect in the 2,3 and 4* amour effects

The entire lineup of available armour needs a huge overhaul, honestly. It's clear that OOO sees our point with family bonuses being inferiour to weapon bonuses, for instance. With the sprite perks, +3 damage versus undead counts as a 4* perk while +2 damage for bombs is a 5* perk.
It'd be nice to see things like Deadly Virulisk reworked with this in mind.
