Ever thought about adding magic as a fighting style. For example you can choose combat(which is swords,bombs,etc...) or magician. You can choose at ready rooms and changing areas. Spells and all that magic stuff. ^^

Pretend I wrote something clever here

I don't see much of a point to adding magic, as anything that could be done with magic that can already be done with normal weapons or sprites.

right now we need weapon balance over new weapons.
also, what shot said. wrench wand charge is a source of leftward momentum, if they haven't fixed it.

Magic = knight abilities

Knight abilities = Battle Sprites

Sorry pal, this is already in the game.

Oh look! This thread again...

@ OP:

Okay... so you can cast fireballs n' stuff. Could you bother to add any kind of detail? Would magic be supportive? Offensive? Defensive? How would it work? Would you need to read tomes to level up your magic? We can't read your mind. Give us some detail to work off of.

While non-weapon based abilities are in the game already, no knight can use all of them. Maybe we could use magic tricks to sample sprites we didn't pick?

Or maybe the magician's spells fight entirely passively, like reflecting damage or summoning stuff to fight for you, while battle sprites need to be activated by the player?

Besides, why give exact details? If something big and specific gets put into the game word for word from a suggestion, won't people complain about that somehow?

uh

That said a rumor that if this game goes abracadabra, the game lore is going to change.

As much likely many people who have logic in their minds, like Draycos pointed it out, it's already been abracadabra'd, with the help of pets. (genius)

So we switch from swords and guns into staves and orbs, and put a change into the lore in the future into resurrecting the Skylark using something magical that reboots the engines and everything in order to return to our homeland, which Isora would be a magic city.

Ye want it?

They could add animations for

They could add animations for casting spells, and simply remove the display for your current weapon so it looks like you're casting spells instead of firing a gun or dropping a bomb.

Sort of a visual overlay, a cast "orb" animation or lay RUNE (bomb) animation.

Battle Sprite Skills..

I think you mean more Battle Sprite skills... +1 to that.. Perhaps that can be added in future updates where Battle Sprite levels can exceed 100 and thus can learn additional skills ( like here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/86474 ) and hopefully no more shared skill cooldown as well.

Whuh? Okay, maybe Magic Set doesn't go under "fighting style," even "Chaos," but what about Alchemers and the physically nonsensical status afflictions? At the very least, the endless summoning of bombs and other munitions into existence and being undamaged by their explodilicious effects strike me as awfully sorcerous.
