Let knights throw their bombs! Bombs could have varied travel distances depending on size or weight. Ideally a thrown bomb could peg a mob in the face and stun them for a second.

Polaris doesn't count because it has a collision box (and gets blocked by enemies, unlike bombs)
catalyzer doesn't count because it HAS to stick to an enemy, and it's not area-centric like bombs.

Why can't we throw bombs like gremlins, even just one at a time?
I would be behind a grenade-like weapon. It would be cool to have an extremely slow firing weapon with HIGH damage and a medium blast radius.
Imagine sweating weak mini-bombs like status-inflicted demo gremmies. That's hella funny. Then everyone will swing their pulsers out every time they see someone with a bomb like that in LD. x)
I would like, instead, a shadow bomb line where you can magic the bomb a few squares away to toss in the middle of trailing gremmy and slime mobs. That sounds like a long defuse time though... considering has to be charged, tossed, land, and defuse.
I would also like to boomerang my winmillion.
I would like to chuck my BAB a square or two just to get it over ledges and blast enemies who are relatively far away even further away -- wait, what, this may be all fun, but how is this a useful thing? (also, did the devs ask themselves that question, too, after they changed the shard bombs?)

I like the way bombs handle already -- just strategically drop 'em like they're hot. I don't know much muscle strain my fingers can take with another button to reach for just to do something other weapons don't.

Well, duh. It's called balance. The game has many flaws at it, but they wouldn't go so far.
Specially if it's for bombers. OOO hates them.
I do think it would be kinda op, and OOO changed shard bombs to what they are now because they were too gun-like
but then again, I do think that bombs should have some sort of regular, probally weak, regular attack

Bomb weapons are supposed to be a compromise between swords and guns, not too weak, not too close. If they were throwable, it would counter all worth of any gun, or be balanced to be just as effective as a gun. Also, Blast Network would change entirely.
@Hexzyle Pretty sure bombs already do less dps than guns and swords when you factor in charge time and fuse time. Bombs only tend to pull ahead with aoe. People seem to compare bombs to guns but ironically no one seems to mention the fact that many swords have charge aoe which completely dominate bomb aoe.
@Jam-Pie Not really, unlike bombs guns are not limited by fuse times.
As far as Blast Network goes there is no reason to assume a change to bombs in the main game would effect it. In fact I think it is pretty clear that bombs in Blast Network work entirely different already.

Bombs have variable DPS, sometimes exceeding guns and swords, sometimes pulling behind. You can't say that they have less DPS because it changes depending on the situation. As an extreme example, clustered slags cause the Voltaic Tempest's DPS to rocket up to ~400, while a lone wolver causes it to drop to ~30.
Other bombs like Nitronome can have a pretty crazy DPS, and a party with four Nitronomes (or even four shard bombs, with a well trained party as Zeddy has proven) will nearly always finish a run faster than a party with four Glacius/Combuster/Acherons.
Now, back to talking about damage per blast: each weapon type's average damage has been balanced so that it matches how the weapon is used. Gun damage is half sword damage due to the safety. Bomb damage is boosted due to how slow they are, but then reduced again because of their AoE. So it ends up being the same as sword damage, in general.
What I meant was, if bombs could be thrown, they'd need to be changed to Shard Bomb Damage. And by that I mean just a single shard.
Ok, I suppose I understand point of view. If bomb throwing were a real thing then it would seem adequate for thrown bombs to do less damage while planted bombs would maintain their base damage.
My suggestion is that it would be a new thing (Like dash and bash).That way we could do it with every bomb, not just with a SPECIFIC bomb that we would have to buy.
