I wouldn't say they need a visual upgrade... Someone just needs to sift through them and fix a lot of the clipping issues. The main one that has plagued me for a while now is the clipping between Wolver Coats and just about every other helm in the game. Gunslinger Armors also tend to clip around the collar.
PETITION: Fix Gunslinger Armors!
It's not just the collar, it's the entire armor. It's glitchy as [insert expletive], and I really would like it fixed.
Oh boo hoo, one of your costumes doesnt look right.
Who cares. There is a plethora of other issuea that need fixing instead of your costume. Let me name a few.
Winmillion
Uron Slug
Mad Bomber Armor
CIV
Need more bombs, levels, music
More bosses (one coming after 2 years)
Other balancing
As you can tell, fixing a silly costume has no place on OOO's to do list.
They can fix your costume probably when they have balanced the weapons and armor in the game and made new levels and sustainable content that everyone is content with. AKA Never.
You raise some valid points, and I agree, the costume part probably wasn't a good choice by me, but not many of these problems require the work of the design team. Some of these would be very simple fixes, like making it so you can't see through the bottom of the armors, and making it so the pattern is a part of the armor rather than a seperate texture.
The guy working on the model for gunslinger armour and the guy working on balance for winmillion? Probably not the same guy.
(Mostly because the second guy doesn't exist.)
For the sake of humouring OP...
Emberbreak helm has some unsightly patches of blue. Make it match the rest of the helm by tweaking the texture.
Radiant Silvermail doesn't shine, despite its description. Tag on the lighting of a Storm helm.
Wolver coats clip with everything. Crop down that ugly collar.
Magic lines suffer the same issue as gunslinger. Redo the model from scratch, or fix the fact you can see through the model.
The gauntlets of the scale mail sets look like cardboard. Touch up the model so it looks like gauntlets, rather than paper.
AHAHAHA SNARBOLAX COAT
Azure guardian, and other cobalt parts, could use some prismatic patches.
Scarves just don't seem right.
Lol toupees
There is a distinct lack of decent blue helms.
brigandines make you look more top heavy than usual.
Peg leg plate/almirian. Unsure if intentional.
This is just a fraction of visual nitpicks I can think of from the top of my head
Demo suits clip with absolutely everything, including demo helms.
A bit sad noonne's mentioned that, honestly.
Demo and jelly visually make no sense to begin with. Random belts, not being able to tell where your legs end and your body begins, the derpy arms, and the clipping.
I've always thought the fact that they just stuck a big halo in the Grey Owlite shield to make it glow was pretty annoying. Wish they would give it a glow specifically designed for it.
It's true. Wolver coats are kinda.... glichy.
The Problem of this is that every armor uses the same animation, only some animation editing would be needed to fix that.(Same for the wolver bug).
I'm guessing that the game loads the animations from a file that only has the bones and no model. Redoing the animations would fix that issue.(For the Wolver animation, you would need to add a keyframe which contains the Scale Key 0 for the "Spinning Ball" model.) I can understand that OOO is a bit lazy and doesn't want to fix that(they could group the animations: jelly "Armor"(same for bombers, since they use the same body model like the jelly armors), wolver armors, gunslinger armos,...),i'd like to fix it, but we would need a animation editor or converter for that.
My guess is similar, only my guess is that there's an invisible layer to which a skeleton is assigned. It pretty much makes the shape of our body. The armor models probably just follow that one skeleton.
90% of armors and helms pretty much need a visual upgrade.
