Make all guns that deal pure piercing damage shoot bullets that travel through monsters instead of exploding on the first thing they touch. I'm suggesting this cause gun's when so deadly in real life become secondary weapons after swords due to their low damage output in SK. Instead of straight up rising damage output just put a twist on it. The number of monsters a bullet can travel through is equal to the number of stars it has, damage is reduce by 20% per monster it passes through (so let's say you're using blitz on the slags in FSC each bullet will deal 67 damage so the first monster it hits get 67, the second 53.6 which'll be rounded up to 54 then 42.88 round up to 42 and so on). A four star or higher pure piercing gun can also pierce through armoured gremlins shield and wheel trap shields however damage is reduce by 80% per monster/trap shields it passes through. This'll also fix blitzneedles being able to pass through barriers problem since they no longer do splash damage.

Which is ironic because Antigua guns are the only ones with a true piercing mechanic, albeit at the end of the charge.
I will say this though - the moderately penetrating charge from Nova/Umbra drivers can one-shot devilites/wolvers - something Callahan can not do, despite being stronger and of effective damage.
what do you mean? none of the 5 star antigua lines do pure piercing they all pure elemental or shadow, and there's no talk of a piercing antigua in this thread
Maybe. The idea is alright, but the only place where it might be possibly balanced is on antigua charges exclusively. But then again, those aren't even piercing anymore so...eh. It does make a bit of sense though.
Also I don't think it's possible for them to have any less AoE than the little bit they currently have.

Better make it pierce through monsters because callahan is too underpowered and blitz is too overpowered, so we turn blitz into a non piercing weapon anyways.
Are you sure you want to make blitz needle more OP than it is now? The charge does 256 damage per bullet, with 15 bullets spreading for each enemey, if 15 bullets can pierce through 5 monsters each only having a 20% reduction per monster, it will do a lot more damage
1st monster: 256 damage per bullet, if 3 hit it will be 768 damage
2nd monster: 204.8 damage per bullet, if 3 hit it will be 614.4 damage
3rd monster: 153.6 damage per bullet, if 3 hit it will be 460.8
4th monster: 102.4 damage per bullet, if 3 hit it will be 307.2
5th monster: 51.2 damage per bullet, if 3 hit it will be 153.6
In this example i say that the person is shooting from a far distance, but that can pierce the enemies. If 3 shots pierce through all 5 enemies, it will do a total of 2304 total damage for only 3 bullets. Let's say all bullets hit all 5 monsters, for example in the first battle of the third depth of vana run, it will be a total of 11520 damage spreading through all these zombies.
Don't forget that most people with a Blitz will have good ASI and CTR and damage boosts.
Yeah no. Blitz can do 303 damage per shot. Balance that.
