Yes lAckdown is a joke. Especially when you write it wrong.
Lockdown these days
I'm relatively poor in-game (f2p player, I don't merchant), and I quit rolling for UVs a long time ago. Here's 19k as a pure gun user, and recon at that.
My armor set, Nova and Umbra Driver have no UVs, my Storm Driver has low CTR, and my Valiance has Undead:High (my first craft AND a UV lol).
If anything, I have a decent connection, and I keep my slots alive every month to keep me attached to the game (I don't use heart trinkets, but damage or speed trinkets [depending on whether I'm using a sword or gun set], because they're actually useful for PVE).
Aside from connection, I have absolutely no sympathy for you.
don't need to hear your lame lifestory pal.
sounds like you copied what sieran said one time.
sieran is the best player ever, he'd beat everyone in the game 100% of the time if he wasn't stuck in chronic poverty
he doesn't bow down to prestige or norms.
he absolutely doesn't afraid anything, not even a full inspect.
then there's blueflood who's pretty good but he's absolutely crap without guns and swords. He ragequits when someone AT sentenzas him
People who get their ASI VH and MAXIMUM items don't become good all of a sudden.
People who play and earn experience learn how to be good and over time they also acquire better items. So the fact that good people most often have good UVs is just a small factor to why they destroy you in LD.
What is the point of loading up on health trinkets and a perfect Skolver set with maximum protection for shadow, just to go and earn 80 crowns per 10 minutes?
If you're seeking a point in a video game, I suggest you go do something else. Either way, the point of getting double health trinkets is increasing your survivability. One pip of health grants 40 hp and a trinket grants 6 pips at most. Two trinkets will therefore give you 480 HP. That's quite a bit! As for the shadow protection, there's no point in it. You can read up more on it here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/90606
Only the richest of people can truly succeed in Lockdown, because of the Black Kat Cowl, Snarbolax set
Yeah sure those are helpful but it doesn't make your swords stronger than full Skolver will. BKC has the advantage of extra gun damage but you can easily make up for it using Chaos. As for Snarbolax, it's not expensive. It's entry level Shadow Lair armour.
the CTR ASI Acherons flying everywhere, thanks to Twenty One.
In Bandido's defence, I'll actually have to inform you that Three Rings are responsible for developing Spiral Knights, not Twenty One. As for my thoughts on UVs, see Theirillusion's post.
The biggest problem is that everyone takes this game so seriously, like they're getting paid a living to do so or something.
Hey, Einstein. It's a game! Lighten up.
You know what I find fun? Going full Vog and whacking people on the head with a Dastardly Victory Shaker until they just give up. Sniping people with a Calla-me-maybe-han charge. Setting people on Fire with AT-FoV. (9 out of 10 people happen to find this humorous. The 10th person was brutally burnt to a crisp.) Wondering how in the world that Broly-ance bullet even hit when my enemy was right behind me. Juggling tryhards with a 3* Wreckadoon until they get angry and turn on Auto Target to double swing their Grandma Francis. Trapping the Chaos horde in a Shiver-me-timbermist then executing them with a Broedge charge while their friends watch.
You know what isn't find fun? People who whine 24/7 about:
ASI: Just wear Vog. Don't want to sacrifice damage? That's your problem. Experience comes first. Skill comes later. Good gear is nothing more than a bonus.
SnarbKat Kombo: Good gear =/= skill.
CTR/ASI Brandishes: You have a dodge button, there are Alchemers, Antiguas, very useful bombs, and also, the most important tool, your noggin. It isn't that hard just walking out of the way and punishing them when they miss or run out of boost. Learn how to counter, and you're good as gold.
Combo Spamming: You think after the 15th time you died to this, you would actually learn how to avoid it. Guess you're brain-dead enough to deserve it.
Trinkets: Worry about these when you reach end-game. Takes two Vana runs at least to afford the slots. Costs little to nothing now thanks to Orbs of Alchemy, and doesn't even require heat. How about that?
Auto Target: Everyone has access to it, and anyone worth their salt knows how to predict how it works. It doesn't really make any difference if you cry crocodile tears until Nick comes back home, so deal with it.
Polaris: Yes, it's boring. Yes, it doesn't require any sort of talent. So what? What's (A) Stopping you from doing the same, and (B) Holding you back from learning how to deal with it?
Big name guilds; So they're well known, and they tend to be annoying. Who cares? Some may take the game more seriously than others, but you can just easily queue up for a match with other people.
Rich people: If you spend as much time (or money) as they do, you deserve something nice, no? It would be nice if UV's were disabled, but you work with what you're given. I find it satisfying when I beat down "that guy" who for some reason has ASI VH everything and yet doesn't grasp the concept that good gear doesn't equate to skill.
At level 10, a 4* weapon is better than a 5* weapon at level 1, up to level 7 or 8. Why not snag yourself a Brandish ASI Med (toss away a couple pieces of Ancient plate) and make a 4* Brandish? Heck, why stop there? Deck out in a snazzy 4* set and show the competition you can still have fun and tear them a new one. Now go out there and make the almighty Donkey Kong Contri proud.
it's pretty good though.

btw, all the trinkets except heart trinkets are great in PVE. Pretty good value once you make them, 100% effect, way more reliable than UVs, and work on all weapons of their type. recommended 6/9 stars.

Oh god, this thread again.
It's been proven over and over that people who are good at LD will still be good without UVs.
The only thing I see in this thread is the inability to reevaluate your own playing style in favor of complaining.
Look at what you do, see where you can improve.
No one's gonna drop their UVs because you made a thread here, so you might as well do something.
You don't need more than Med UVs, and those are attainable to everyone.
nitef was OP, yet played with nothing but ctr low btb. so stop complaining that you're not able to compete with the top players.
and if you're gonna say that only ppl who pay can get UVs, you're mistaken. stop being lazy/moping around and go make some crowns. i'm f2p, yet i still have an asi vh ff and asi vh gf.
oh, a nobody complaining about UV's and AA because he's a nobody!
Let's all pay attention to this nobody!
@Whim
Lol Grandma Francis
@Seiran
I haven't tried going for damage since I topped the gun/recon damage board. Thanks for giving me something to strive for! And awesome job almost hitting 20k!
Solution as always:
-Increase LD population by god-knows-how
-Implement ranking system so the uber UV'ed 2 year veteran pros play each other, and the noobs play the noobs.
Don't you take my noobs away, I need to slaughter something every once in a while.
I know people who have farmed fsc for months and years to go get their asi and defense uvs not everyone uses money.

LACKDOWN IS A JOKE
either LAUGH WITH US OR AT US.
