Long time player, but do not use forums much... Just going to suggest somewhat radical, but at the same time greatly needed additions/changes.

Suggestion #1

Greater PvP

-we have Guild Halls so let us have a Moba-style destroy opponent's Guild Hall. Although allowing to raid and destroy furniture for extra points and Guild Console for the win is ideal, it could be simpler by just having a large guild Console or building destroyed from the outside on game map. This game mode would be Guild vs. Guild or premade teams with team vs. team; which could lead to arenas quite easily and maybe more PvP related gear with PvP earned tokens/currency. Also allowing GvG battles to be up to 30v30, which would force guilds to seek greater activity and players merging guilds = a more healthy community than 2,000 guilds with only less than 5-10 active members all the time. And for the team based(arena) Moba = have 3v3, 5v5 and 8v8.....then have monthly tournaments streamed on twitch. I would love to see a standard PvP map wheres its all random players but a nice 40v40 similar to many other MMOs' out there today. My first thought was to actually allow a set crown loss form Guild Console based on arena rating tiers. I think greater rewards would be Special GvG only armor sets and weapons that are capable of showing guild symbols that can be changed with PvP currency/tokens.

Character-to-Character bound item usage

In this idea it will be allowed to use the mailing system to send your bound items from one character to another one of your own. This will allow unused gear some standing value and would actually lead to greater profits due to more characters with good gear = wanting to help each one more. EXAMPLE: I have a character i hardly play just because I don't want to go through the trials of leveling gear, but if I could transfer my old Ash Tail outfit to him to use; I most likely would play a lot more to save crowns for the 225,000 upgrade for gear. More playing time is greater opportunity not only for you, but for the community seeing more and more people online all the time. This will also lead to players feeling more value in creating more characters. I can only speak for myself and a few others, but I would be glad to spend a one-time fee of 1000 energy just to have the ability to do so (unlock account to use).

Map Maker/Creator

Best idea I would love to see happen! In this idea its exactly as it sounds. Players would be able to make quick-to-build PvP maps and maybe a PvE map with linking map-to-map campaign. First and foremost the PvP idea, but with a twist. This PvP map maker would allow the option for players to select vs. Bots = allowing co-op gameplay against a bot team for practice, game play selection and to test out created maps. I think it would be best for heat gains from these custom created maps vs.players or vs.bots to encourage its use, but not for practice mode in testing the map. The greatest thing about this is it will give the end a never ending end game. Especially if you could set difficulty levels = Easy, Normal, Hard, Uber/Insane difficulties. Another incentive to play is once you have unlocked the custom map achievements you can unlock the ability to buy special costume pieces and receive one free once unlocking them all.

...I have many more ideas, but these are the best I believe for the community to grow again! :)

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

all right, here we go.

1 the idea is good, but... 30vs30? do you know how big the maps would be? and how you should have a perfect connection when a team starts the opera "ode to Nitronome?"

2 it's good until the things stay bound.

3 already been suggested many , many times. it's good and all, and has been discussed to death.
on a side note, PvP bots are not a good idea. you know how dumb are the AIs in this game?

/Does the radical dance!

First of all thanks for replying! Yeah I tried to Search a bit before I posted, but thought my ideas were a bit different. I know 30v30 is a radical change for spiral knights, but I firmly believe radical changes are needed for the longevity of the game or any game that is way behind in many ways. By example Marvel heroes is another game that lacks a ridiculous amount of needed and expected things...its sad, but that game is due to a horrible team of creators/thinkers. Spiral knights is unique in some ways and has a great team of creators/thinkers, but all of the reward winning player aspects that very successful games have, Spiral Knights lacks in. Just think if this game had a MAP MAKER PvE, PvP and GvG, (Hall vs Hall) GvG and CHARACTER SHARING. OMG! this community would attract new people by the thousands at least by these additions and the added perks to play each style!

Maybe I am a radical, but it is needed.

The PvP bots sound promising, actually

When a player leaves their team in lockdown, a bot should replace them. It would prioritize control points, and fight off players. Guardians would shield when fired upon or if a teammate nearby has less than 50% health, and while standing on control points. Think Arkus but with a healing shield. Recons would act like gremlin stalkers. Strikers would probably act like grievers. Strikers would wear Echo's stuff, recons would wear the magic line, and guardians would wear plate mail.

It's kind of a stretch but it would be so much better for teams who lost a player. Damage vs bots might not be counted too, I dunno.

Guild V. Guild can be sort of solved by having concurrent matches going on with the winning team of each Guild going on to fight the winning team of the other Guild. Perhaps with GvG-exclusive matches?

Just remove the crown fee (or get it refunded) when you send letters to your own characters. Or have a secondary Inventory that all Characters can donate to/pick from. Just no swapping Bound items.; Then people won't buy the same 5* thing for each of their character when they can just swap it around.

There's a sort of pseudo-mapmaker in SpiralSpy. You can build a map bit by bit and populate it with mobs to show where they spawn.
But that's irrelevant, the real question is who is going to monitor the quality of the player-made maps? The overtaxed team at three rings? The apathetic playerbase? Who?
