How about adding a Curse Theme along with some Curse Monsters

Thinking about it, I honestly believe it's time to see a Curse Strata along with a lot more monsters capable of inflicting it.

Curse is actually a really cool status but it's also one of the most powerful in the game. There's a hand-full of armor that provides Curse Resistance and even some armor that provides Curse Weakness. Aside from the use of Faust and Gran Faust, these armors practically have absolutely no use aside from a couple of exceptions and cases.

I understand there are monsters about that do inflict curse but the problem is aside from a few, all of them are event only:

  • Phantoms which only appear in Graveyards.
  • Carnavons which only appear in Shadow Lair: Firestorm Citadel and a Scenario Room
  • Black Kats which are event only
  • Margrel which although isn't entirely event only, the item required to summon is.
  • Almirian Shadow Guards which appear only once in the Danger Mission Legion of Almire and during specific periods in Shadow Lair: Firestorm Citadel
  • Darkfire Vanaduke which only appears in Shadow Lair: Firestorm Citadel
  • Dread Velvet which is event only

As you can see, the only real handful of places the armor is useful in is the Graveyard which only applies to the Charge Attacks of Phantoms and can easily be dodged and Shadow Lair: Firestorm Citadel both of which are pretty easy to control and there are better armor choices in general.

For the fear of it being too overwhelming for newer knights, I may suggest only have it in Stratum 6 of the Arcade at random intervals during Gate Construction.

There's a lot more that could probably be added to this but I feel as though this is a decent amount to give a generalized idea of what to be added.

Besides, imagine Curse-inflicting Devlite Arenas.

There is one more place to find cursed slag (Carnavon)...

In this scenario room. But idea sounds great but it should be only for tier 3 in this case (as you mentioned) because curse is deadly and it may show to be too hard for tier 1 and 2 players. I would also like to see sleep levels again. Otherwise sleep resistance is completely useless :/

Weren't...

Weren't Slooms and the Sloombargo the only sleep monsters?

I would like to see some sleep weapons implemented too.

Exactly!

Slooms and Sloombarago were sleep attack monsters found in Starlight Cradle levels. They have been removed I belive because players used them to heal their selves even if you actualy lost more than you got back after tries to fall asleep. They appeared last time for last halloween due bug and I was so happy I had chance to fight them. And yes, I would like to see sleep attack weapon too. Maybe if that was new normal/piercing damage sword, to be crafted from sealed.

I'd like to see a special level dedicated to curse

Think candlestick keep in terms of randomization.
The only enemies that inflict curse deal shadow damage, save for Darkfire Vanaduke and the new-ish dread velvet.

If graveyards could have a chance to be cursed graveyards with loot caches all over... Well, I want that.

Here's the problem though

Curse isn't nearly as short as something like say, freeze. With no curse resistance, it'll last around 51 seconds, if memory serves correctly. Not only this, but the only sets that give curse resistance all give shadow resistance, save for the Divine Set and Radiant Silvermail, which lack normal defense.
