this is the main reason why i want to know the price of someone who already paid to get into the party or someone with book looking "some offers" i know this sound like a itchy complain, but there is not other way to get the armor unless you drop the book, pay the book, get invited, or pay to get invited, (or pay the armor itself)
since the last option seems the more obvious. i wouldnt mind to pay for my invite, as well the "owner" set the price tthat probably will be the price used by other owners (unless they want an obsecene amount of 20k Ce per slot). wouldnt hurt to know their prices though

Players in Haven are insane. I saw someone saying that they charge about 6k energy+ just to enter the BK party, which is just plain greedy.
Is it greedy if that's what it's worth? They're not making a monopoly, and people have a choice to decline..
Well the setup isn't in your favor. You are extremely unlikely to receive 1.5 or even 1 book during the event, even if you DID somehow grind the whole time. Think of the economic repercussions of this, as every single person tries to sell a black kat cowl for the price of two parties. Need I say more?
I hate the idea that you have to pay in order to fight a boss for exclusive gear.
It's different if the cost is pocket change, like for tortodrones (I mean, 2.5k crowns isn't much at all and can be gained in 30 minutes. 10 minutes if you find a D24+ arena. Plus, you do have to spend crowns to make the ID so it's valid to be spending crowns because whoever makes the ID is spending them too) where the grind is also a lot less. Paying ~$15 worth of energy to fight a fun boss seems eah. Paying a total of $90 minimum for one piece of 5-star gear is just not fun.
i dont like this price system either, but sadly with greedy part of the community and if they get a book. they wouldnt invite someone to their party sadly, unless they get a small "incentive" to get your invite to fight margrel. which i agree its totally unfair just to pay $90 USD or even more just to get one single piece of equipment
im all up for your suggestion fangel, about make pages some kind of fake book to get only the wicked wisker but knowing OOO they wouldnt even bother to make the normal "armors" not ask whiskers (which is sad because also i was looking for a shadow bomber set).
if events going to be like "well pay to the lucky player some fee to play this boss, or drop the item if you are lucky" then that for sure would be the drop that filled my glass of patience.

Since joining in a particular activity can net lucrative rewards which can then be traded from one form to another to acquire real-world wealth through the sale of assets via the black market.

I'd like to get invited to one. I can kill 10,000 Black Kats and get nothing. But since that wont happen.
Think of it this way- if the event wasn't garbage, we wouldn't have to pay all of our money to go on these runs.

Why is that considered greed? You're basically paying to get the whisker material, no? Can't you just rephrase it? And if that is considered greed, I don't know what would you say about merchants that hoard everything and monopolize items...
Honestly, right now the event is broken. Books are, what, 25K E? You can sell three party spots at 6K E easy, subtracting 18K from your original cost. Then, simply sell the BKC you get at 23K E. You make 16,000 energy, easy. If only I was rich.

Think about what you just said, and then consider the slightly longer term consequences of it and how quickly those consequences will come about.
Lets say that most participating endgame players want the cowl and raiment or just raiment, depending on if they have the cowl or not. If we give each of these players on average one book during the event, the ones wanting for the cowl will all get their cowl. The ones wanting for the raiment will then attempt to sell their cowl for a large sum of crowns etc.
But no one is going to be there to buy their cowl, and the supply/demand curve will make the original item become garbage tier in terms of pricing, especially combined with the new 3* kat cowl that's just as good at offensively and only a bit worse defensively. Why would I pay millions of crowns when I can just use the 3* version? At least use it until I get a book, because I am now planning on finding a book so that I can craft a raiment as well.
The other kat hats/raiments are primarily just there for costume as they cannot hope to compete against the black kat set, and don't make the situation any better as they maintain the high demand for Margrel fights.
There is the possibility of altruistic players accepting their fate and sticking to a single piece of 3* armor, but for that to be the case they would have to either find a book and hand it out naively (which is 100% the same as handing them the price, you goofballs and your "humanity") or otherwise farm entirely to sell books. If they farm to sell books, then it is economically sound, but given that there is almost nothing better for them to buy, I don't see it panning out.
With all due respect, I think you guys are somewhat missing the point of how this event is set up.
The book is super rare, and the whiskers are needed, because if you get all the BK stuff you have the most powerful set in the game.
After all, wouldn't make much sense to have the most powerful set open to just everyone right? Those who put the time in are the ones most likely to be rewarded.
Personally, I will never be able to own this set, and im cool with that. But if you want it, you gotta put in the most time.

So what I'm getting out of this is, I should wait till near the end of the event and just grind for cr the entire time, and I should be able to buy a BKC by the end?
Except, you know, the other 3 regular armors are trapped behind the wall. And introducing an end game at the 3* level is destabilizing to the game.
The 4* BK hat devalues the 5* a lot. And you can get 2x 4* armors for the whisker cost of a single 5*, so you should think twice before pursuing it.
The game is being trashed but no one wants to admit it, as long as you get their payday, then what could possibly go wrong?
-Inventing crystal forging so you can pay with your time or money. Or alternatively, don't do either and go play something else to achieve 'progress'. Turned what should have been the best reward ever, abandonment of elevator costs and mist, into a punishment.
-Trying to sell cosmetics into a broken system. Accessories need to be player bound, not gear bound - that is to say; moved from PREMIUM Inventory space (accessory slots) to INFINITE Inventory space. Why? Currently, players know that they need to manage their accessory slot usage carefully in order to future proof them, which in turn makes them less likely to casually wear the random accessories they acquire, and in turn open less boxes to get items they'll never add to their collection anyway.
-And now putting basic armors behind the same wall as the power set. So now the Kat hunt is no longer about hunting Kats and turning in your loot, its exclusively about finding that damn book. And not getting those basic sets, because it's a bad deal. If you don't think you will find the book, then don't bother hunting at all. Not to mention the economic meltdown as the individual Black Kat items will go through as everyone tries to find out what one is worth what.
If issues like this keep piling up, then eventually the game will only be populated by a small number of elites who will suddenly find themselves without the bottom of the pyramid to support them and now be required to foot all the bills themselves. Forget pay to win, now its pay or crash.

Or we could attempt to bridge the skill gap between high and low end players by making it so that the highest tier of players receives gear disproportionately lower than the amount of effort they are capable of. For instance, if I am capable of fighting three times harder content, I shouldn't get gear that is three times better.
If I DID get gear that was three times better as the super player, then I would end up with a huge advantage over newer/less skilled players, and that would create tension in parties, much like how it is when lategame players and their obsidian weapons join into innocent jelly king parties and everyone gets carried.

Honestly, I agree with a lot here. This event is about finding black kats, not finding a super rare material. I use the tokens to get the standard kat gear, and the whiskers for the higher-tier kat gear. We ran grinchlin assault for the reskins, and the added bonus after the final boss room is the only reason we ran the whole level, as the boss was brutal. At the same time, you could get all the content from grinchlin assault with enough time, but the rare item stayed, well, rare. In this kat event, the rare items are as rare as the common items, and that's just bogus.
Now if the new kat gear had MSI low on all the pieces, I would understand the paywall. However, they don't. Newsflash: the kat eye gear is going to be obsolete come the gunner update. You can't slap high prices on average gear. It's the same logic behind attempting to sell a combuster on the auction house and a combuster with ASI - VH, CTR - VH on the auction house, but putting them at the same buyout price. Any resourceful person is going to buy the one with UVs.
And yes, I did just use a comparison to the same game I'm critiquing.
Its true that it has to hard to find and i agree with that but lets think about it even if you are lucky to find a book and 3 players to with a book you will end up with only 4 wicked whiskers ,so that will mean that the users have to go and search for another book which will take who knows how long to find :/
@Dreamless-Reaper: well thanks for the invite, but you can give my place to any other forumer who really want the gear since i already got the whiskers i needed. but if find a book i will return you the favor you tried to give me. (if you ask me, give the slot to Fangel or any other forumer who give a nice solution to this bad implement gear they really will appreciate your help)
So far i spent around:
29k Ce to get just 5 whiskers, since i got 1 whisker for free from a friend who helped to get his black kat cowl (i give him the book in the first event).
invites are around average 5k Ce, and if "people" outbid your place in the party, then 6k Ce give you a sure slot. rarely someone will sell you a slot for 4k Ce. but most of time you will spent 5k Ce just for a party invite.
So unless you are unlucky to get books, or none of your friends manage to get a book, you will need 5k Ce just for a party invite. i know the gear its mean to be OP, but the "lack" of an alternative to fight margrel (as Fangel as stated previously) make this event worse than before. either pray to get a blessed lucky or pay to get into the party.
its sad to see how the Eye, Claw and Hiss sets ask whiskers since their cowls counterpart need only the kat tribe fetishes. really too sad for the shadow bomber armor.
