Hi. I use normal guns.

I currently use Tortofist and slug, for crowd control. Valiance is coming soon. Any other guns I should get?

I use sunset and chaos, if you're wondering.

I'll put aside the question of why you use only normal guns, which as a general strategy makes little sense.

I wouldn't get Valiance. The knockback is a little interesting, but otherwise the blaster guns are completely boring in play style, damage dealt, etc.

Volcanic Pepperbox, being a normal autogun, is pretty powerful and interesting to use.

Supernova is great for crowd control. That's really the purpose of pulsar guns.

Neutralizer is quite interesting. Everybody should try catalyzers. But I hear that they were weakened in the gunner update.

Yeah, normal guns I really do question..

But being the gunslinger I am, Bopp's suggestions are pretty good. Catalyzers make me cringe, but they're fun to screw around with. Valiance is EXTREMELY dull. Supernova is amazing(still not as good as Polaris, but for one reason or another you don't like elementals)

Pepperbox is fun. Go for that rather than Valiance.

What? No Iron Slug? I use that thing all the time. It's the only normal gun I use, and my primary gun when I got pure gunslinger.

Valiance is a great option. The boring part about Valiance is if you use it as a main damage-dealing weapon. The knockback is great especially for panic situations.

Since you have a Tortofist, the charge of Tortofist is somewhat similar to Volcanic Pepperbox, except VP charge is more reliable for single target damage. You could hold off on the VP for a while.

I have not much to say about Neutralizer. Too lazy to say a bunch about it when it's still kinda, somewhat subpar. The main problem with Catalyzers is that it requires a good deal of paying attention to your charges and timing of explosions, but if you're probably wasting that time paying attention that you could've been spamming Supernova or something. The main issue I have with Catalyzer is that you can put a ridiculous number of charges on a normal enemy, but it is unlikely to one-shot the enemy.
Eh whatever I'll just list out some things you can do with Catalyzer. Make enemies dodge with the slow regular bullet, but not without the obnoxious Pulsar explosion so you know exactly where enemies have dodged to. Charge attack is great for staggering enemies. If you stand near a target that you have orbs on, and your orbs on another target are detonated anywhere else, all your orbs in your vicinity will explode.

Yeah... you need a safe gun to use, which is either Valiance or Supernova. Valiance is great for close-quarters panic, iono about Supernova, seems like it's a good option for devilite and gorgo panicking.

In this order:

1. Volcanic Jalapeñobox
Reduced cone spread and a slight damage buff makes this gun extremely viable. Coupled with the decent range and spread of the charge attack and its knockback, it's pretty darn good for damage and fairly fun to use.

2. Supernova
It's a normal 5* Pulsar. No obnoxious status effect. Side-effects include blinding yourself and other teammates in pure white bright lights, while keeping your teammates out of harm's way or keeping harm onto your teammate's way. Gun does decent damage, has a large hitbox, ridiculous knockback, and it's all white and shiny. Definitively recommend it.

3. Valiance
Much like most people have mentioned, it's an alright gun for alright people in alright situations. It doesn't excel in any way, shape, or form, nor does it have any "fun" mechanics or "special" glitter on it, but when you need something reliable, decent, and sturdy, Valiance is there for you.

5. Neutralizer
I'd put it at 4, but the change of mechanic made the gun a little bit more subpar in my opinion. Sure, it's easier to tag enemies with it, but it feels like it does less damage unless you also land the charge attack, which is probably one of the only highlights about it. It causes stagger/knockdown with it's subtle "pew" charge sounds and its overall fun to use if and probably only if more than half of your team is also using catalyzers. I'd recommend it if you plan to have some fun with it and try to practice tagging things in active groups, but otherwise it feels a little impractical. But that's just me.
