(Hello, and welcome to my first-ish Spiral Knights fanfiction. I don't have much to say, other than I'd appreciate constructive criticism on what I could do to improve. Enjoy!)

Prologue
My name is Veni. That's what everyone calls me. I'm just your average knight. Well, that's what I was, until one day, my whole life was inverted by a chance encounter with another knight. I woke up and went about my usual day, hunting minerals, seeking treasure and generally having a good time all to myself. I never really had any friends, until one day...

It was a bright summer afternoon and I had just finished my expeditions. I was walking around Haven, looking around for things to distract me with, and then...
"Oof!"
I ran straight into someone wearing a Chapeau and Tabard of the Moonstone Rose. We both stumbled to the ground, and I got up after the initial surprise.
"Uh, are you alright? Sorry for bumping into you." I apologized to him.
"I'm fine. You should pay more attention." She told me. "But I'll forgive you. It was an accident after all."
We began to go our separate ways when she stopped.
"Say...you look kind of interesting." She said, turning around to face me.
"Hmm..." She put her hand up to her chin. "I'm not sure how to put this, but..."
"..but?" I asked.
"...would you like to join my guild? You seem well-suited for the kinds of adventures we do." She answered and then asked.
I didn't know what to do. "Should I accept, or refuse?" I thought to myself.
"You can give it some time if you want." She then stated. "It's up to you."
I began to think it over.
"Should I join, or not? I mean, I never have had any real friends up until now, and this could be my only chance. I guess I should accept."
After my quick thought session...
"Yeah! I'll join." I told her. She seemed both surprised and happy.
"Thank you! Most people usually decline, but you're one of the few to accept. I'll lead you to our guild hall." She replied, and led me to her guild hall in the Garrison.

And from that day on, my whole life changed, but I don't know if it's for the better, or for worse.

Chapter 1: Introduction
The guildhall was somewhat small, being a two-floor place with ten rooms - the foyer, the console room, and four rooms in both wings.
"This is the guildhall." She told me.
We went into the foyer to see two other knights, one wearing a Chapeau and Tabard of the Gold Rose, and another wearing a Shadow Tailed Helm and Obsidian Mantle of Rituals which have been accessorized somewhat heavily.
"Oh, and these two are my best friends. Taiyo, Hikage, say hi." She said, introducing me to her fellow guildmates.
"Hey! You're the new guy, right? Nice to meet ya!" Taiyo said, waving.
"This is your new recruit, Tsuki?" Hikage questioned. "Interesting you'd pick knights off of the streets of Haven."
"Say..." Tsuki began. "What's your name?"
I walked up to the table where Taiyo and Hikage were sitting at. "Uh, my name's Veni." I introduced myself.
"Veni? Hmm. I hope you can prove yourself to be a viable member of this slowly growing guild." Hikage replied.
"I'll try." I then told her.
"Why don't you take a seat?" Taiyo asked. I took my seat at the table and Tsuki followed me soon after.
"I should probably explain what's happening and why I asked you, Veni." Tsuki began.
"A while back, I crossed paths with an exceptionally rude knight in a match of lockdown, after I interrupted his duel. After a quick argument, he shouted to me that if I don't defeat his guild in a lockdown battle, I'd owe 72,000 crowns per member of our guild. In other words, he's trying to swindle 432,000 crowns from us. We need six people to form a guild lockdown team and since you're the sixth one we recruited, that means we might have a chance to stop him." She explained. "We'd still be forced to pay 432,000 crowns if we lost, and he said the deadline was in two weeks. It's been two days since I met him, so we have exactly twelve days to get our act together to avoid this."
"Why can't you just report him to Spiral HQ for this?" I asked.
"He threatened to murder us all if we didn't pay up." Tsuki explained. I gulped.
"S-So...why'd you recruit me into this whole mess?" I asked nervously.
"When I bumped into you, I got information on what you had currently equipped, and your loadout interested me." She answered.
"O-oh..." I reacted. "I guess I should share my loadout with you all."
I shared my current arsenal information. A Final Flourish, Voltaic Tempest, Arcana and Acheron, with two Penta-Heart Pendants and a full set of Chaos armor.
"Ah. I think you could easily help us get out of this fiasco." Hikage said.
"Yeah!" Taiyo agreed.
"But I must ask you, Veni..." Tsuki began again. "...do you really have any experience with Lockdown?"
"Uh...no." I said.
"WHAT?!" The others shouted in response.

I sure am.

However, sometimes I get creative blocks (or I just get really lazy) and I stop updating for a bit, which means I generally have no schedule writing this.

And I don't really like sticking to promises, too. So I can't really give an ETA on the next chapter. Sorry!

@Coolie-Dude Oi, no badmouthing other ficts for the betterment of others. Besides, if someone can't create their own characters to fill up a story, there's a sore lack of imagination at work.

Looks like he's already set up his own story.

What if we want our own story? What if we don't like his idea? "NOBODY CARES YOUR THING IS USELESS GO MAKE CHARS FOR HIM!!"

We can work together and shape the story a bit? It looks like it still has a base idea that it's set around, and what if someone doesn't like that base idea?

So basically what you're saying is "2 different fan stories with completely storylines and ideas, one made by my friend? This guy's thing is useless, there doesn't need to be multiple stories and ideas. Go post a character because my friend can't think of one."

So, Coolie, you level the logic that any thread with the same premise and mechanics as a thread created earlier is useless. What, then, is preventing me from claiming El Diablo is useless because I already made Machinauts, which is a stat-based RP based on Spiral Knights?

But I don't go by that logic. Because that would just be pointlessly mean. Also, it doesn't apply here because, of course, this is different from El Diablo: Victorinox di Angelo, being a fanfic rather than a stat-based RP.

As for this fanfic, I'm in contact with Oroseira, and I'm not sure he's been able to find the time. It's rather unfortunate, since this has potential; maybe I'll give him a reminder.

Going off topic here, sorry but i need to know. So.. Doctor. I have been REALLY— And i mean really —putting some though on how you can contact Oroseira (Or who i knew more as Lady-Of-War). Are you guys freinds or maybe even a family? Just wondering. It's fine if you don't want to answer, everybody got private matters after all.

Oh and @Coolie, You just did one thing I hate most. Begging 'Undercover', using flame and insult as your beg disguise.
