Well~ I'm back on spiral knights after i quit like for 2 years, and when i got my new laptop i thought of this game again. So, I've downloaded it, and i dunno where to start. any tips?

We don't know exactly when you left, but you do. So you can go to Release/all and learn exactly what has happened. Pay particular attention to the new rank missions (2015-05 and 2015-02) and the "gunner update" (2014-12-03).
Unfortunately, the new management (Grey Havens) doesn't seem devoted to updating Release/all. So the small updates they've done since they took over in early April 2016 are not on there. But that is not much to talk about.

Prices for exchanging crowns
Prices for exchanging crowns with energy have gone up in the last 2 years.
It has gone above 10k :(
Just be aware of that
And 2 years... maybe you haven't seen the 10-2 missions.
