After some Testing on other Armor's A UV adding defense to an armor already with that defense provides a very small difference.
When I tested my Nameless gunslinger set level 10 vs. someone else's with a uv of elemental resistance very high on the poncho the difference in damage we took wearing the full set is he took half a pip less. We tested on floor 19 against gun puppies. But on the other hand if you just use one piece of wolver and not the whole set and a helmet or armor that provides no normal defense with the UV piece it will make a difference. But I'm sure you can sell it in the AH for a lot more than it costs to some ambitious not very well informed knight. Hope this info helps.
