Valiance.
With 2 slots, you'll want a normal damage gun, and the best normal damage gun imo by far is Valiance.
Later versions have very fast bullets, with a small knockback on each shot.
Overall, IMO the best gun for a person with 2 slots out there. + the recipes are very easy to get.

Go for the blaster series.
Go for the blaster series. The Valiance is the 5* version. It's lacking in damage output, but it more than makes up for it in reliability.

If your main weapon is normal
If your main weapon is normal or elemental, go for Supernova. (Did the people above me forget it comes in normal flavour?)
If your main weapon is shadow or piercing, go for Polaris.
If you can afford a third weapon slot, go for Polaris anyways.
You'll love any pulsar for the knockback once you get used to it.
