The general idea is basically this: slots for Shields to be worn as Costumes, in the same way Helmets and Armor have this possibility currently.

With this thread, I'd just like to reiterate how lovely this feature would be. The Barbarous Thorn Shield completely clashes my outfit in RJP/GW, and I'm sure many, many, many other players have similar discomforts.

This sounds like a great idea!
My Grey Owlite definitely does not match the Snarby coat costume. Even though I'm a gunner, I'd level a Barbarous Thorn Shield just to have a shield that doesn't clash.

Personally I like the option mentioned in some of the other threads of hiding your shield in Haven.

In any case, I don't think shield costumes could detract from the game in any way that the armor/helm costumes already possibly do.

@Voltharion: Mhm, that would be another handy option. Perhaps a simple checkbox on the Knight Inspection Page (similar to the "Allow Full Inspect" one).

Make people pay ce/cr for NOTHING. Woooo! Greatest idea since selling canned air on ebay.

Recycle invisible shield. Add random textures to the existing shield sphere or whatever. "Wow, it looks so magic, need to buy one for 1.5mil in the action house specials now!!!!111".

Lockdown dummy shield
Great new reward for Krogmo bribes: The lockdown shields as costume shields, no functionality.

Parrying blade
Like remove the shield from aegis. Yay, a 'real' parrying blade as a shield costume.

Parrying bunny
You wouldn't want to hurt the bunny, would you? Maybe even vanaduke will flinch just a second before taking a swing at it (well, probably not, but...). That's why a slightly altered devilite model with pink skin would make a great parrying pet / shield costume.

I'd certainly fall for the invisible shield. All visible shields fuse to that giant soda can that all bombers and jelly people have to carry around on their backs as a punishment for being too awesome. Invisible costume shield is teh solution.

In essence, an "Invisible Shield" would be the same.

In essence, an "Invisible Shield" would be the same as hiding your shield in Haven, but in addition, you would appear to have no Shield even when in battle. (Defending without anything might be pushing things a bit.) Regardless, I think the Shield hiding option for Haven would solve your clipping problems just as well. ;)

I figured that taking a Dread Skelly Shield over a Grey Owlite Shield for a Tier 3 Gremlin Arena just for the looks was pushing it when it broke in pretty much two hits from Gun Puppy bullets.

Shields, like armour, can't be scrolled through. I mean, weapon costumes would be silly. But shield. :( Dragon Scale is love visually, but horrible defense. Want costume slot. D:

Arceus? Is it the name? Maybe the shiny gold pieces? Either way I don't find it offensive in the least. xD

Anyhow. I'd love to use a Swiftstrike, but keep the looks of my Grey Owlite (and be able to hide it in town). So far Shields still act like Armor, with (seemingly) no individual traits like Weapons, such as speed and range. This makes it seem reasonable to hope for Shields to become costume-able.
