1. Complaining about bans on the forums is a good way to receive one here.
2. Try the Support portal instead: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Support_Portal
3. /1 (Zone Chat) is not for trading. /2 (Trade Chat) was added so that people would no longer trade in Zone chat.
4. Someone probably reported you and OOO took a bit to respond to it. When reported, it sends a chat log with it so they didn't need to be there for it.
5. Paying money does not exempt you from the rules.

Don't spam! - Use the chat client sensibly, just like you would when talking to someone in person. Spamming is defined as repeatedly sending letters, messages or nonsense in a way that makes it difficult for other knights to communicate. Spamming is not acceptable in any form.

It sounds to me like you were spamming, which is against the Terms, and received the just punishment.

I highly doubt a GM would have banned you if you were posting your offer at the same time as everyone else. They wouldn't just ban you out of the blue. If you legitimately think that you are innocent of the ban, though, you can appeal it here.

(And not complaining about it on the forums would help >.>)

For people talking cross

For people talking cross haven. Arcade to bazaar, town square to arcade. Some people don't want the spam of white letters. Others are hosting a Haven event, and need some sort of official looking script to tell the participants of the rules. Or some people are trolling for attention.

Point is, there is legit use of /1. Keep your trades to /2.

Long ago, before you were born, there was no /2. There was only /1. People complained about the trade spam in Zone Chat because they were trying to use it for regular chat. You must also realize that /1 only goes to the Haven you are in, not all of them.

well it seem like a year probably not quite that long you get the point! i have end game equipment and i had no idea zone 1 only posted to the haven you are on, how on earth are new players supposed to know this without finding out like i just did?

where is this information, and don't say go to the wiki because that just bad design. Information such as that should be easy to find or how are we to know if we braking a rule?

i just though zone 1 was sending my offer to al the haven i guess i was wrong

That is so contradictory.

You check out the wiki and you read the ToS. Ignorance does NOT exempt you from rule-breaking and its consequences. If you're whining about it having a bad design instead of looking then you obviously don't care enough. Heck, just by typing in zone chat in the search field, the top result contains the patch notes with the implementation of the trade channel included. When it's that easy to find information you have no say in it being hard to find or that it has a bad design, because it does its job.

Evidently, you have a lot to learn. Use this as a lesson for the future.

regardless if i have a lot to learn rubbish, and who give you the right to say so? the information about the fundamental game design choices eg what channel dose what is not easily available anywhere on the website!

Hunting thought he search function does not count as easy available, when have you ever play a game where to find the controls or a basic aspect of a game you have to search Google!

still ignoring what I'm saying i see. What other game out there do you need to search though there wiki to find basic information which should be on the website itself not hidden away in the 10 wiki link you have to go though to find the information your after?

your also not going to look up information about a chat window if you don't know/think you're doing anything wrong.

The mechanics of the game have nothing to do with your issue. You were banned for spamming. Why does it matter how you were spamming? You broke the Terms of Service and it was your duty to read and obey them.

One thing you need to learn is how to type clearly, I don't know if english is your first language but if it is... shame on you for talking with such bad grammar... if it is NOT your first language PLEASE do your best to proof read your posts.

It is a shame that there isn't more promotions of the trade chat. You are correct in saying that most new players don't know to use trade chat because not many people talk about it. I think I'm going to work up a good post on the use of trade/zone/local chats.

You say you weren't spamming and you posted it once in trade chat and zone chat. something you should realize is this...

Someone who is in the same zone as you that is also in trade chat is seeing BOTH messages. To them, it appears you are spamming. If you are repeating the same messages in multiple chats, you are in fact spamming. If you are changing havens posting in the different zone chats, you are spamming. Your best bet if you want to sell something is to go to haven 1 and ask around there, and stay in trade chat. Keep a good time length between messages, by good time length I'm talking about a couple of minutes. Most people that are in Haven one are also in trade chat. So, put one message in trade chat wait about 2-3 minutes then put one in zone.... wait 2-3 mins put it in trade. This way people that are in both don't feel like they're being spammed, and people that are just in trade can see the messages.

Things do get around by word of mouth. I can't tell you how many times I have been looking for something, and someone in my guild that heard about the item i was looking for would tell me who was selling it, even if i wasn't in trade chat. Don't be discouraged. If all else fails try to sell it in the auction house.

You were only temp. banned, which means at some point in your little knightly career you probably had a pop up that appeared on your screen in a blue box giving you an official warning about spamming. They didn't feel you listened and kept repeating yourself so I'm sure they felt the best course of action was to temporary ban you. That IS your warning before a permanent ban. Learn from it. Make a change. Get over it.

@Dancinjen finally someone can see where I'm coming from.

The resin my grammar is not the best which I'm sorry about and cont help even if I wanted to as spell checking doesn't work if you can't partially spell the word in the first places as i im severely dyslexic but it does not bother me and i try to get on with it best i can.
