foggy levels would be a good addition!
like candlestick keep
it requires a device to be active to prevent monsters from appearing(gremlakin)
but this time ghosts of wolvers appear and cant be damaged until you turn on the nearbye lightpost with a battery
also you cant see without a flashlight which can run out of power then can be renewed by using a battery on yourself
*forest themed level/wolver*
Fog Levels!
Not really, it's just like as if Candlestick was pitch black. Infact I don't think it would cause any lag at all, or should I say, any added lag.
It depends on how they render it.
They can make a cheap fake looking fog or a super realistic resource-eater fog.
As long as the fog isn't a particle effect, it shouldn't be a major drag on people's computers.
Candle stick keep is good for nothing but just being annoying
I beg to differ, its a first step towards a new style of gameplay that is starting to be very popular lately.
It can be further developed into a full-on horror survival level, in fact I wish for this to happen.
All it needs is for some seriously spooky bgm to set the ambience,
The level would consist of a series of puzzles and some scattered monster encounters
the staple monsters would randomly appear during the level, accompanied by heart stopping(rest of the family waking) sound effects.
They would be like the zombies, which grabbed you and sucked the life out of you. However they should have the reaction speed of wings and the avoidance abilities of devlites. The saving grace would be they did very little damage and would be easy to destroy.
Of course it goes without saying that they would spawn in swarms upwards of 20.
There could also be a super monster which is a cross between Grimalkats and Phantoms.
Impossible to kill for good, and impossible to avoid unless you are in a safe spot.
They would suddenly respawn, with a very sudden and bone chilling scream laughter(played only to the targeted player), right next to a targeted player and chip off a good fraction of their remaining life before starting its normal attacks, in such a way the player would not die but they would not be able to live for very long either.
There would only be one of these instead of one for each player, and it would be really hard to take down.
This monster would make sure to target every party member before targeting back the same party member.
A few Mmos are trying out this approach, namely the old republic and the secret world. If SK could nail the horror survival genre, it would be one of the most favourite(most hated?) levels in the clockwork.
Personally I love the intensity offered by Candlestick Keep, and I would not mind having similar levels.
Now allow me to dredge this up...
it would be SOOOO cool to see enemies like Zombies emerging from the ground, shrouded by the fog, so its hard to see where tey are coming up! :D
I don't really like that route...
I prefer hordes of enemies that I can kill, and that can kill me. All they really need to do is make the enemies harder to kill. Because right now, to avoid 90% of enemies is uber-easy, and I generally do all the T3 missions in 1* gear with a 5* weapon.
Any invincible enemies that are purely "You must avoid this guy" enemies annoy me, and the more challenging enemies (Pretty much only Fiends right now) are more fun to kill.
Even though I've never played OCH, I've seen it played, and it looks like a lot of fun. Those are the kinds of set-ups that I enjoy, not random invincible enemies that spawn on top of you if you're not in candle-light.
I'm going to agree with Lishanglin here, CSKs are mostly annoying. The only fun parts of CSKs are when you're in a tiny area with a blue/orange candle in the center with howlitzers and spookats spawning all around you.
That said, random enemies that you CAN kill spawning all over the place, like zombies coming from no where or jumping at you by surprise, would be enjoyable; especially since Zombies can actually hit you now, with their buffed jump attack.

I was wondering why your dislike of my outline seemed like it was similar to my idea,
then i realized i made a mistake =_=
I meant reaction speed of greavers, not wings. i was not thinking.
I meant for them to move really fast towards you and also really fast when avoiding your attacks,
But on the other hand, they would not hurt individually, therefore, they would spawn in huge groups out of nowhere.
The would also be able to incapacitate you by grabbing you for a few moments like how zombies would.
These would be the staple monsters of a horror survival themed level.
The super monster's first attack would be unavoidable and dramatically shocking.
They would spawn right next to an unlucky player and chip off his life, before carrying out more conventional, but deadly attacks
They would be a constant nuisance throughout the level.
They would not be able to enter safe spots scattered throughout the level.
To me you and i have similar ideas.
