Individualized Boss Remixes?

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but I'll try to give it a shot.

Like many avid Spiral Knights players I'm very keen on the in-game music -- most notably the track used during boss battles. I was nearly blown away when I faced Snarby for the first time back last July.

Though as new additions are made to the game's overall structure, I can't help but wonder how the same theme could be adapted to fit future bosses. So tell me OOO, have you considered making individualized remixes? Maybe depending on the boss' monster-type, or Tier, perhaps?

What do you guys think?

Fun fact: With the latest

Fun fact: With the latest patch OOO actually DID put in a remix of the original boss music theme.

I found it yesterday when I was bored and surfing through the folders of the game client. If you play through Steam, you'll find it in C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/spiral knights/rsrc/sound/music, and it is named boss_2. It's an .ogg file, so you might need something that has the Ogg Vorbis codec to play it, I have Audacity and that works great. I listened to that track and in my opinion, I like it a lot :D

I've heard about that.

And I see people have already started to rip it...

But I'm speaking more along the lines of individualized remixes, tailored to fit the boss' type, or rather its stratum. Some added instruments to the main track would work, too. For example:

Beast - Wild, and uncontrollable. Heck, throw an electric bass in there and see how it plays out.

Slime - Regal (Horns, maybe?), yet at the same time zanny and whimsical...mostly to reflect the Jellies, themselves.

Construct - Mechanical, heavy amounts of chiptune blended with the other styles of synth from the original song.

Undead - Grim, but intense. Could recycle some elements from the Firestorm Citadel battle theme, and some minor vocals could work well.

Gremlin - Industrial; I could imagine it as something of a combination between the Beast and Construct varient.

Then again, these are just basic ideas. So, feel free to comment and offer your own suggestions.

This new theme

Almost sounds ice-like and depressing which sounds perfect for jelly king. This boss 2 theme.

You can almost see him in fright at his final stand.
Knowing it's just his life or yours.
The rest of his kingdom has fallen, and now you stand before him.
He just gloops off his throne, and prepares for the fight he knows he lost.
but.
If he's going down.
He's not going down easy.
He'll use everything he has.
Break my Kingdom.
Break my crown.
But.
You. Will. Never.
Break me.

Man if only I could animate.

Yet yeah, I agree. Bosses should get individualized themes, based on who and what they are.

I dunno about Jelly...

...but Ice Queen? Maybe. Her fridged personality fits it pretty well. Probably not so much Jelly, though. While he is something of an unruly king, his reputation doesn't surpass his successor in that respect.

I'd pick something that could fit with the preceding levels -- the Royal Jelly Palace theme, perhaps. Lovely poem.

Also, bump.

Old, but interesting.

It's a shame Harry Mack doesn't work directly for OOO, else we could have seen these long ago.

Personally, my taste in music doesn't fit in well with the existing soundtrack (I'm more of a Frank Klepacki guy), so the most I can say is that boss themes should, as stated, match the stratum or level theme. Snarby, for example, would get either a drum- and adrenaline-laded tribal mix (as per the Beast theme) or a slower, eerie, but still wild-sounding theme (as per the Wildwoods theme).

Hmm?

Isn't that a Touhou remix?

(I've been on the internet too long ...)
