This may sound weird but since Faust and gran Faust are the only weapons that inflict curse, wouldn't it make sense to have the avenger and da be the only weapons that inflict sleep?

nope.
sleep needs to be reworked before adding it up. besides, avenger is already destructive by itself.

The Avenger does enough
The Avenger does enough damage by itself so a status is not needed.

GF is curse and high normal attack DPS
DA is the strongest projectile sword.
Pretty even.
Once upon a time, Pery, a knight, thought of the idea that the Avenger and Divine Avenger should have random status effects, like the sealed sword! But soon he forgot about that idea. THE END! :)
