When you get damage bonus from armor and trinkets, it applies to all six monster families, Vanaduke (who is not in any family), and PvP. This is really powerful, compared to the single-monster-family bonus that you might get through a UV. Therefore loadouts should be constructed like this, as a rule of thumb:
* UVs on weapons should be ASI or CTR.
* Armor and trinkets should supply damage bonus. If there is spare "capacity" in the armor and trinkets, then armor and weapons should also augment ASI or CTR or both, depending on the weapons being used.
Deadshot isn't a bad set at all --- especially because its undead bonus applies to all weapons --- but Shadowsun supplies that all-gun-all-enemy damage bonus that a gunner really wants.
Deadshot would be good when fighting the undead but not optimal against everything else. The low ASI is just... low.
Make a full shadowsun set instead.
