Yet another way to fix shard bombs. Yes, I saw the other thread on the front page.

Ok! let's make them do that.

Steps of my shard bomb:

1: Bomber places bomb.
2: Bomb ticks down, slightly faster than current shards but slower than old shards.
3: Bomb explodes, doing damage in a 2-square radius (3x3 space).
3: Several "shards" spawn at the edge of the explosion, flying out slightly farther than the range of the current shard bombs and stopping. These are bullet-like and do damage.
4: Shards behave like current shard bombs; flash and then detonate. However, they have a slightly smaller explosion radius to compensate for the fact that they are further from the initial bomb placement.

Side note: Enemies hit by the initial explosion are unaffected by the flying shards.

That works, right? oRSS people get their bullet-bombs back, and OOO gets their AoE explosions bomb. And you can't OHKO things with it.

Whoa...viable

But if a shard hits an enemy does it still stick in the ground? Also, I think current shard bomb range is fine. Wait, do the shards even stick in the ground? Or do they just fly and detonate?

They pierce through enemies, then stick in the ground.

Or maybe they should detonate if they hit an enemy? Not sure. Discuss!

I'd say the most "bomb-like" old RSS would have explosive projectiles. If they miss, they explode after a short time, stuck in the ground.

We could make it the shards get stuck in enemies then blow up a few seconds later instead.

@Waffle That wouldn't solve anything with the shard explosion range and damage.
As to the idea overall, sure thing. As long as OOO brings them back in any actually good/working way, I'm fine with it.

The main problem with the current shards, is that the shards are bugged out, and are extremely weak . If they nudged the current damage on the newer shard bombs, that would be great, but I do still prefer the older, or your idea of the Crystal Bomb.
