There are three (four) kinds of people in this game in regards to shard bombs.
-People that don't care about them, whether it be because they're not as good or because they don't know what they used to be.
-People that have given up on writing posts about shard bombs because in reality, it'll probably never happen.
-People who still haven't given up.
(-The people that still cry over the old Radiant Sun Shards.)

There are a lot...no there are a TON of posts regarding Shard Bombs discussing their usefulness and changes made to them.
In summary, shard bombs did not always split into many rocks that exploded after another fuse time. It used to shoot projectiles that did damage on contact. Due to it's powerful nature on close range enemies as well as it's design, OOO decided to change the Shard Bombs to what you see today. Now, the shard bomb has a lot of problems. I'm sure Zeddy can post his comment with MANY links discussing the problems you get with them. The two worst ones are that there's a hit limit on how many of the shards can hit one monster, and that when too close to walls, the shards will not spawn. (Thanks Zeddy.)

There are a lot of suggestions on how to adjust these bombs, some of them say to just revert them back. We're not here to discuss that.
These are my two proposals:

*Turn the shard bombs projectiles into Maskeraith needles that explode after a short time like the current bombs do.* This sounds unusual doesn't it?
The Maskeraith's needles fly and stick to the enemy on contact. Giving the shard bombs a projectile that can cross holes while keeping the delayed form of damage would be a nice in-between from what the shard bomb used to be compared to what it is today.

Or perhaps we can just make them *exactly like the Maskeraith's needles* and only give the initial bomb explosion damage. Even if we couldn't get direct damage out of it, giving it a projectile that can cross holes would be helpful. This kind of change would turn the Shard Bombs into a support bomb much like the Catalyzers are, giving them a new depth of strategy.

-In the end, no idea is perfect, and a lot of the pre-proposed suggestions I already agree with and support, but this is my take on the shard bomb, and I hope it could get some support, because if I had to settle for this if the shard bombs would get changed once more, I'd take it.

You forgot the 4th (fourth): People who are still crying their eyes out over the removal over the old Radiant Sun Shards.

But either way, I can see how this can work out

WAAAAHHHH.

Back when I still wanted a few good bombs (Before just about every good bomb got turned into lumps of foul deformity.) I wanted some shard bombs. They used to be THE bomb for crowd control. Pop one down and you're saved. And now, for whatever reason OOO made them one of the most unwieldy weapons in the entire game. Please OOO. Restore those shards to their former glory.

I liked your idea too Kilpik.

But I didn't agree with the concept of "spawning" a bullet. I wanted it to be more shrapnel less bomb.

Dark Briar is not shrapnel. It's a Blast.

None of those thorns do damage on their own.

I like this because the Maskeraith quills hit limit isn't as poorly implemented as the shard bomb hit limit.

I could approve this, but I'd like to fix the original shard bombs by replacing the standard shard bullets with pulsar bullets, with smaller knockback. That means they would only deal their original damage after the bullets have been expanded. Shard bombs were meant for ranged use and this would easily fix them imo.

Inferno why you say the forbidden name?

Pulsar Bullets? I think you should propose another bomb type rather than adjust the shard bombs into a plasma spread. I really want a realistic change that agrees with OOO's definition of what they want a shard bomb to be and at the same time has some form of distance.

This is kinda off topic

before i make a new forum i want to know if anyone has suggested making mad bomber sets give out bomb ctr HIGH and bomb dmg HIGH. this will give out dmg and ctr MAX to all bombs whether heated or not. this will make striker bomber able to get max ctr with just 1 Elite Bomb Focus trinket freeing up the other slot for a hp trinket. being a striker bomber give bombers the ability to weave past pesky polaris and supernova spam, strikers now have to enter the bomb radius or carry a actual gun that has bullets that travel faster. this way Bombs > Swords > Guns > Bombs

The shard bomb was meant to be used from distance. Why would they even give it such range and damage if it wouldn't? I'm not saying I want any shock or a thousand mile knockback, just the expansive bullets. Shard bombs were nerfed because they were used up close. You know that unexpanded pulsar bullets deal very few damage, right?

In my eyes-- I mean ears, the maskeraith quills sound like a different bomb.

It could just be a bomb that

It could just be a bomb that explodes shooting shards in 8 different directions, which explode after 3 seconds of, well, existing, and stick to people.

Then again, it's like the old Shard Bomb if that happened.

I like the idea of the shards

I like the idea of the shards coming out, and sticking onto people in the way. Then for 3 seconds they will dread the moment it explodes.
