Basil's "Wander Lust discount"

Pretty simple concept.
The more floors you have completed before you reach Basil at the next clockwork terminal the lower the prices for recipes.

"So why is this needed?" you may ask.
1. Detour people from simply hoping into parties that reach Basil and don't do anything to help. These people disgust me as they simply use others for easy profit.
2. To make it more rewarding to do longer runs.
3. Make it more possible to make a profit from recipes from that are sold from HoH.

Now for the list for floor to price ration:

No floors completed, aka joined at terminal: "Basil is refusing to do sell you any of his goods as she feels you have no wander lust." Basil won't even sell you anything.

1 floor completed: "Basil has decided you can buy his goods but is over all displeased with you and is now charging you extra."

Everything costs 100 more crowns per 1,000 of usual price so 4,000 normally= 4,400, 10,000 normally= 11,000 25,000 normally= 27,500.

2 or 3 floors completed: "Basil is finding the amount of exploration you have done to be satisfying and is happy to sell you his goods as per usual."

No price change, slandered prices.

4 or 5 floors completed: "Basil is happy with how much exploring you have done and decided to give you a slight discount."

Everything's price is reduced by 25 crowns per 1,000 of usual price. So 4,000 normally= 3,900. 10,000 normally= 9,750. 25,000 normally= 24,650.

6 or 7 floors completed: "Basil is delighted with how many floors of the clock work you have seen on this trip and is giving you a bit larger discount."

Price of everything is reduced by 40 per every 1,000 crowns the price is normally. I won't bother making any more examples as at this point it should be easy to understand.

10 floors completed: "Basil is impressed with how much you have seen in a single trip and is rewarding you with a discount and a low star recipe free of charge!"

Player is given a random unbound 1 star recipe and the 40 per 1,000 discount.

15 floors completed: " Basil is shocked with how many levels you have done! He is giving you another freebie and the same discount as before!"

Another recipe, this time 2 stars and still unbound. Discount is 40 per 1,000.

18 floors completed: "Basil has new found respect for you and has give you a special gift. It is a small box wrapped in simple brown paper tied with brown string. The content is unknown but you are sure he wants only you to have it! He is also giving you notable discount."

The gift he has given you is a "Explorer Prize Box". Explorer Prize boxes only contain special costume gear that resembles any of the monster families. You could get a slime cloak or a devilite suit! One set per family of course. The discount is now a 50 per 1,000 ratio.

@Xtweeterx
Really? Whelp, I'll edit that then.

@Qwote
Are you sure? I have had allot of times where people join just when we reach it. I'll test it out...

Yup, Qwote and Tweeter are both right. I don't know, but maybe include non-sniped Stranger hats (and cloaks? :D) in the box now the explorer's pack is gone?

Maybe you should wait with bringing up Basil and HoH related subjects until those that have grown allergic to it have recovered from the latest anaphylactic shock. This allergy tends to increase the chance of a "No, go away." reaction the more often it is triggered...

No, I don't. It isn't needed.

There are plenty actions that can make randoms annoying. If they don't help before you reach the next elevator, kick them.

"These people disgust me as they simply use others for easy profit."

And what exactly is your motivation for this suggestion if not making profit off other players!?

Here's one way that I'd agree with: Choose between normal price for normal transaction, or reward price for bound Recipes transaction. That way the game's rewarding you directly for your actions.
Also, bound boxes.

Hey, how about a bound Forge Box of the respective kind of Fire Crystals found most in the Stratum for every completely done Stratum? (/me waves at "Down with the Trees, give us free view of the Forest!" aka "Save the Arcade." brigade.)
Respective kinds are Stratum number minus 1 in star level (Stratum 6 gives 5*, Radiants, Stratum 5 gives 4*, Shining,...).

More than a million Crowns per week, in a good week? What more do you want!?
(Ever worried that the Gods of SK remove the means for what I call my service to the lazy - too lazy to go to HoH or read wiki. I'd totally understand if they did. But until they do, you're welcome to take some of that business off me. The day Sprites came to the game I was crying for a break even, as keeping it up didn't give me time to do the new Missions. I had to deliberately ignore AH mails to go monster hunting with the new toy.)

Or in other words, no. This isn't a trade game.

And, in effect, you paying less for a recipe from an NPC to then sell it to a player is taking the difference to normal price away from SK. You want them to give you Crowns out of their Crown Sink Wallet. Why would that be a good idea for anyone but you?
(My service to the lazy has at least a percentage of the price sunk into AH fee. For example, if I make 50% profit off a Recipe, SK gets 33% of that amount too. If I make 25% profit, SK gets 66% of that amount as well. If it doesn't sell, I lose the fee and that's it.)

And as others said, Basil already refuses to sell you anything if you don't go down the elevator from D:11 to D:12 and then step onto the down elevator there. (It's been like that since I started playing late December 2011, did they remove it when I wasn't looking? ;P )

If people join at the Terminal, maybe they want a shortcut to the next Stratum, for better chance at even-numbered * Orbs that's a bit more random than Missions. Especially Stratum 6 has only 1 Mission shortcut to D:24 that isn't Undead/Fiend. Also, Stratum 6 might be Gremlin. Darkfang is still out there, no?
