That's a fair point but there's a little hole in your argument....
Halloween & Christmas, along with Saint Patrick's Day, are celebrated in EU & the US. (The US & Australia celebrate those holidays because they are from European influence.) OOO's main players are from the US & EU, so it's not necessarily a bad idea. Thanksgiving & 4th of July are exclusive USA holidays though (I haven't really heard of any other countries celebrating those two specifically at least) so no to those.
I would like to see a Saint Patty's Day themed event myself though. All knights who don't have a green personal colour or don't have anything green get kicked from the party! >:D Nepetatheleo is just kidding!

Of course no other country celebrates 4th of july. Each one got its independence a different day :P

Another good point! A lot of countries have their own Independence Days that aren't celebrated on the 4th of July, but the concept of the celebration is the same.

Hmm

I'm all for more events. *Thinks whimsically of Solstice*
I've noticed that the game calls events special names. Dark Harvest...Winterfest... These names are clever, in that they don't really center on a single (or groups of) culture (like CHRISTmas). So, as long as the names are non-denominational (etc.) yet have a clear, Earth-based theme turned sk/cradle, that would be awesome. And yeah, they kinda need to be more broad than a single country. So find some similar historical events like they've discussed above and stick 'em together. Maybe Emberlight could celebrate Gremlin Independence? Hmm...dates...*mutters to self*.

So, come up with neutral names for a themed, Earth-inspired Cradle celebration, and you'll be good.

I dream of piles of coin-furniture for a "St.Patrick-y" event to fill guild hall rooms. Then I would dive into the room...AHHH!! IT'S NOT A LIQUID. IT'S A GREAT MANY PIECES OF SOLID MATTER THAT FORM A HARD, FLOOR LIKE SURFACE. AAAH!! - Family Guy on Duck Tales.
Edit: @Nepetatheleo: that video...that...that was vile. Maturity Warning! *hides in sk's cuteness. Snipes aren't like that...snipes aren't like that...*

OOO should only celebrate worldwide holidays that are on the same day such as Christmas and Halloween. Holidays like the Fourth of July are only celebrated by the US.

... Except that Christmas isn't celebrated on the same day in the US as in other countries. Mexico & China are two examples.

@Skyguarder. Who says

@Skyguarder. Who says winterfest is christmas? It celebrates winter, not the birth of "God's son." If you're christian then go celebrate the crap out of christmas. Otherwise, there is no reason to celebrate it.

@Arkate

Winterfest celebrates the Winter solstice AND Christmas. Last Winterfest, there were Christmas themed items (Christmas trees, etc.) and snow covered all over Haven.

@Skyguarder. You mean pine

@Skyguarder. You mean pine trees. My family puts them up for new year all the time. And snow = winter, does it not? Please, show me Jesus Christ in winterfest and I will agree. Until then, it celebrates winter.

Correct. Anyway, it's not like modern day Easter and Christmas has anything to do with religion anyway :P

Fitst of all, Saint Patrick's

Fitst of all, Saint Patrick's Day isn't really that familair to the people who live in Europe.

So no thanks. Halloween and Christmas are OK with me.

@sky: say chistmas and snow to an australian and watch the reaction.
@topic: nope. USA is not the only country in the world. like, italy, germany, china and japan, you know. with all capital letters I intentionally didn't put.
anyway, new holidays on SK means only new costumes to get. we have the BK event to fill the holes of the seasons.
