We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the gunner update! The funny part is I'm actually not kidding.
It's ten days away.
Normally, I'm not a huge proponent of giving a damn about such things, or even checking the forums for anything serious anymore but the fact that I can even say that we're closer to marking a year off our calendars than we are to getting the update promised is pretty, uh... what's the word I'm looking for... irresponsible?
Madness?
Nope, not accurate enough. Don't worry, There's no Sparta references here.
Needless to say, it's still simple enough to summarize it in one image, which is apparently something I'm known to do so why the hell not. As it stands, I'm more willing to assume that SEGA is going to keep pushing for the promotions and microtransactions to milk the game dry before it ends up being another Doctor Who: Worlds In Time. Or is that comparison not relevant? In the end, I suppose it's irrelevant whether that comparison works, because that game is not this game.
I'm not going to go all up-in-arms and say that SK's dying, because even if Steam Charts indicates a loss in playerbase, it doesn't factor in things like school, since it's fair to imply that a moderate size of the playerbase still attends school, be it grade school, university, whatever.
The fact remains that enough is enough. Are we getting an update? Are we not? I know OOO's taken a liking to this whole "let's not tell the community things so they don't get upset", but we've kind of hit that point where players are genuinely questioning whether or not we're getting an update at all.
So yeah, speculate or something I guess. I'd like to say I had something witty to end on, but I don't. If you have to delete the thread or something later, then fine.
I feel like I should link to my comments on this repetitive topic here.
