Damn, I am missing out... oh well, if anyone want to keep going in the future, maybe I will make an app for Mezizas the obsidian queen...
Outnumbered (RP) Discussion Thread
You totally should join Midnight. The more the merrier!
Seeing as the title of the RP is "Anyone is welcome at any time", you can still start up a character. So long as the character itself isn't too game-breaking OP, just put the character somewhere, and head off towards the action. Or wait back a bit, and another story-area will open up. We already technically have two "separate" ones (possibly three, with Lyn and Coryn having gone down the elevator to scavage. Caite is probably going to join them at some point as well -- seeing as she's looking for materials). There's also the whole Caina territory thing going on, which we don't know much about yet.
Anyways, not all characters introduced have actually made it to the camp. The Hunter, for example, is probably going to come to the campsite during or a bit after the combat with Strom; in fact, he may just be watching the fight from afar, using it to gauge the "recruits" he's supposed to find.
As Keepscaite said, "The more the merrier!" really applies to this RP, so join in and add to the fun!
Just so everyone knows, I will be checking in off an on, but probably won't have time to post till after Thanksgiving! Oh, and happy semi-early Thanksgiving!
So is this thread still open for applications?
Fenririous Vexer
Appearance: He seems to be a tall humanoid wolver with a mask from the Apocrean.
Personality: Fenririous was not the result of a horrible experiment gone even worse then it should. He is actually an unidentified creature who seemed to have passed over to the Apocrea. He is quite tolerant but he rarely speaks.
Abilities
All of his abilities are created by the exposure to Apocrean energy for centuries and then being warped to some random clockworks level, giving him some extra weight and power. Soon after, the radiation from the ME teared up his real body and nowadays he lives inside a wolver's dead body.
Obsidea Gravity
--------------------
This abilty grants him amazing power over gravity, meaning he gains incredible strength
ESCAPE
-------------------
He rips his entire body to pieces from the inside and flies away to another vessel.
Unspoke
-------------------
The body parts of legendary creatures from the dead grow over broke limbs or stumps.
These abilities lead to a large array of countless 'Wins of the Day' during his arcs.
If you've noticed, most of our OP comes from gear\sprites. Strom is a bit of a special case. If you want to keep your abilities, go ahead and give us some background on how he got them, and then don't just use them, have some kind of windup.
Happy thanksgiving people.
Well, if you're in the US that is -- otherwise it's already happened, or your country doesn't celebrate it at all. Either way, GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS.
Now that I've gotten the holiday greeting out of the way...
I assume that the RP will come back into action tomorrow/Saturday? Either way I'll be waiting 'cause Strom has to wait for the Knights' movements, but I thought I might as well ask.
Happy thanksgiving to any who are here!
Hey, it'd be cool if I let Caite have her own little self-contained arc right? It will basically be her having mini-adventures collecting her siht, preferably without anyone else butting in.
It's also just something for me to do while I wait for everyone :p
No problem. My original post said you can have your own arcs if you want.
I should make a self-arc character of my own, too.
I'll just have to make sure that they don't approach Strom, 'cause then it'd be awkward (because I'd be fighting myself. .-. ).
I'll think over an app during the next couple of days, then post it here with a short Bio n' stuff.
If you want, I think it's also okay to do some origin stories and stuff. Let other people see what makes your character tick and whatnot.
I've decided to make an App for another character.
---------------
Name: Pippin
Age: 9 (Why so young? 'Cause I said so. Moving on.)
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Smaller than a regular knight (Which should be obvious, considering her age) with with a lithe frame. (Since I just noticed no one else has an actual height scaling, I'll be the first to do so.)
She's 4'4". Her eyes are a light greenish-yellow color, and her hair is a natural golden blonde, which falls down to her knees. Her skin is a tad pale, if our characters are humanoid (Wait... ARE WE HUMANOID OR ACTUAL KNIGHTS FROM SK. @SAWHERO HALP. I IZ CONFUS.), if not, then her personal color is Yellow.
Equipment:
Wields a weight-enhanced Mighty Great Cleaver with a small apple key-chain looped on the hole near the top, it also has a small Green gem imbued at the bottom of the hilt, which transfers energy to the edge, causing the blade to emit a green-glow and a sleight smell of fresh apples.
She wears a modified White Battle Chef Coat. The entirety of the coat is actually plated using Skylark-Hull grade metal with thick cotton cloth weaved behind it, while the apron is largely made up of solid Quicksilver sheets folded over one another, while quite protective, the whole costume is rather heavy. Its defences could be comparable with Ironmight Plate Mail with great resistances to Poison and Fire -- to defend against any stray flames or toxic ingredients in the kitchen.
Pippin wears no helmet, put does have a small pin in her hair used to keep her bangs in place. It also has a very small-distance shield generator, which gives enough range to protect Pippin and one other knight if they're standing close together.
Pippin also uses no shield due to needing both hands to carry the excessively heavy Cleaver.
She has several smaller Red Sabers to be used as throwing knives. While each saber deals little damage, it allows her to immobilize/stun opponents from afar.
Other knives are kept within a small container on Pippin's back (roughly the size of a regular backpack, but it's a solid rectangle that looks like a simple White block with no lid, just a small button on its bottom right). It's actually a Size-modifying container (Labeled SMC for short), which she uses to carry all matters of ingredients, cooking tools, and other things she finds during her travels, but it can only encapsulate items which:
- Have a small emerald gem (similar to the one on Pippin's Cleaver) imbued in them,
- Are smaller than the container itself (slicing up materials so they will fit works, but often renders the object unusable),
- Are coated in what Pippin refers to as "encapsulating liquid", which is a mixture of see-through "outer jelly" found on all members of the Slime Family, and minced Sun Silver, mixed together, then painted over the object to be shrunk. This coating disappears once the object is taken back out. Pippin carries four bars of Sun Silver and an ample store of Outer Jelly within her SMC, but scarcely uses the mixture sue to how rare Sun Silver is.
Her SMC is currently carrying all manners of cooking-equipment, basic provisions, and several miscellaneous ingredients that Pippin has picked up during her time out of Haven.
Personality: Intrigued with everything that moves, and everything that doesn't, Pippin is a ball of energy and always has a new tasty "experiment" cooking up in her mind, or actually cooking. It depends on the situation.
She's quick to speak up when it comes to her culinary experience and due to her being recognized for her culinary skill at such a young age (See Bio) she's a bit prideful, and can seem a bit arrogant at times. She cannot read the atmosphere well at all, and will often speak to gloomy characters even when they want to be alone. Due to her age, Pippin is quite innocent by nature, but also hasn't learned much outside of the ways of Combat-Chef training; also, because Haven is now Swarm Infested, Pippin has no means of learning basic skills -- because all schools are no longer usable.
Pippin is quick to anger if her intelligence or cooking skills are being insulted. Needless to say, she doesn't absorb food-critiques with anything but praise very well.
She's afraid of the dark (which is partially why her Cleaver has been made to glow) and hates being alone, so as long as there's someone around she'll talk away her fears like a Devilite complaining about extra work.
Pippin prefers to just be called "Pip", rather than her whole name... But she'll tell your character that herself when/if she meets them.
She also loves anything to do with apples. A lot.
Abilities:
Pippin can collect food from almost anything on Cradle, due to her training (See Bio). The materials she can gather from enemies varies, but it's usually something like this:
- Slaying pierce-inducing enemies results in usable-food material drops: Liquids and sauces from Slimes and Meats and soup-bases (bones) from Beasts.
- Provisions from slain gremlins can be made to be edible to knights with sleight taste-modifications (because Gremlin food tends to be a bit... Chewy).
- Machines can be scavenged for energy to be used for Pippin's cooking tools, or simply deconstructed into their base materials. Pippin's no engineer, but taking things apart doesn't seem very hard. Lumbars and Tortodrones are the exceptions -- Lumbars can only be used to harvest a small amount of usable energy, and other than that, firewood. Tortodrones can be chopped up, because their skin is close enough to actual beast-skin to be used in cooking.
- Fiend-family drops are largely unusable, excluding drinks found from Devilites and the materials they use to make said drinks. Silkwings have specific spice-like dust which varies from Stratum to Stratum.
- Undead monsters don't usually drop food-materials, but when something does drop, it's usually rotten or just... Never to be eaten in any form whatsoever.
Once prepared (times needed to cook varies on the ingredients) knights will find that the food cooked by Pippin can increase regeneration, cure debilitation, or other such things depending on what is used to make the food. This is due to the tools used to make the food -- all tools and equipment are imbued with a "Culinary Energy Compositor", this energy is woven into the ingredients when cooked on Pippin's tools and disperse through the digestive system when ingested by Knights.
This "Culinary Energy" is basically a small reduction in the nutritional value of an ingredient meshed together with another ingredient, resulting in an invisible wave of nutrients being put back into the final product -- this restores the nutritional value of the materials while giving the food created special properties, like the ones mentioned above.
For a food to have "Culinary Energy", a minimum of 5 ingredients is required (as any below 5 don't supply enough nutrition to morph into the energy), and can have a maximum of 15, any more than that will disrupt the wave and result in either no special properties or ones that can only be described as unpleasant.
The Culinary Energy Compositors can be turned off from her equipment to allow more ingredients to be used while safely avoiding any wave-disruption.
Bio: Pippin had been adopted into her training at a very young age, and cooking is all she's ever known. Before Haven fell, Pippin was fresh out of training as a Combat Chef under the tutelage of Biscotti herself, and had become renowned for her ability to make good food out of the most disgusting looking ingredients (excluding undead ones, of course). She learned everything from savaging ingredients from the most unlikely places to heavy combat against menacing foes. Training with Knights at least double or triple her age since the beginning, Pippin's strength and culinary knowledge is well beyond her years.
Pippin was released on a field test to put her newly called "field recipes" to practice. While out on the field to collect ingredients, however, news of Haven falling spread quickly, and Pippin has been aimlessly exploring Cradle alone ever since.
The Cleaver Pippin uses is heavier than most due to her pride. Where she was suggested to take small dagger-like tools, she refused to have anything shorter than the best, most brutal and hard-to-use weapon the head Chef-Blacksmith could make, resulting in a very cumbersome weapon. Although she's too small to wield the Cleaver with one hand, enhanced grip-mods on her feet and hands allow her to swing the blade without the weapon, or her, to fly into the distance with its momentum when swung. When she isn't crushing her enemies with the sheer weight of the blade, she is fast on her feet and her small frame makes dodging a breeze. Despite her small frame she's quite strong, given her training under Biscotti. The Cleaver she wields would be difficult for even trained Guardians to wield regularly.

Phew. That took a lot longer than I thought it would to edit over. "Edit over? Whatever could you mean by that?" you ask? Well, this is actually an app I made almost a year ago, back in March. But the RP that I applied it to didn't end up actually starting up, and was trashed due to an apparent "lack of apps". Anyways... I'll think on where to have her start up if she's accepted within the next couple of days.
As an aside: I usually name characters after specific features that they'll have. This character, I ended up searching up Apples for. Why? Because Apples are good, and I maaaaaay have been craving them at the moment of this char-idea's conception. Pippin comes from the "Allington Pippin" -- why this specific apple you ask? It was more than random selection. I spent a great deal of time looking over different apple types to see which "flavor" would match Pippin's personality.
Nah, I'm kidding. It was the first apple type I saw that didn't sound like it was connected to apples at all, and was name-worthy. The fact that its taste, and dual purpose as a cooking ingredient as well as delectable fruit is entirely coincidental.
As an aside-aside: I actually didn't intend for Strom's name to have any real meaning when I chose it. In fact, I was just making weird noises while trying to figure out a name 'till "Strom" popped out of my mouth and landed in the RP. Now that I look at the name's meaning (from "Ström" which is "Current", as in a stream) I figure I may as well incorporate that into his live-backstory... If I ever go into that for whatever reason.
Now that the App's done... LET'S GET COOKING (you have no idea how good it felt to say that, given my app)!
Just looked up at my past posts. Dang. So many words. ._.
Making a side character for the sole purpose of writing without interference? Sure why not.
Sounds like an interesting ploy, I might make a character to do something of the sorts.
Ummm... What I've done in my past stories and such is that knights are Near-Humans, with the iris and cornea of the eye being the personal color, and hair color being somewhat...creative. Also, do you have any specific plans for Pip? If not, I was thinking maybe having the Hunter stumble across her, considering he may be returning to main story soon. If you already had plans, then go ahead.
For everyone, if you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to talk, my email is sawherosk@gmail.com. I check it regularly, and am always willing to lend a hand where I can.
I was either planning on having Pip run into Coryn & Lyn on there scavenging, or have something like a run in with the Hunter anyways. I don't know where the hunter is... Presumably the same depth as the camp, and Strom, if he stayed on the same depth as the one we saw him on last. I'll just make Pip do an action that seems entirely area-independent, then Hunter can explain where he's going in the actual RP thread.
That was a good thought to... Pip(e) up about.
Huehuehue
There seems to be a noticeable decrease in posts on the RP. If this is due to something I am doing (or not doing), please let me know.
That's the thing with RP's they are awesome for a short time, but then die after a month due to inactivity. Posts rely on other posts.
I check on the posts I'm involved with basically every day... It's just that I can't move my characters unless other people move theirs.
Sometimes that's just how it is, I suppose.
Also, exams and stuff like that are coming in, and fast.
Most people don't have the liberty of writing any more than a couple of lines to post before they get back to something school-related... And "a couple of lines" usually don't do RP responses any justice.
I'm currently busy with the gunner update lol. Sorry about that.
I wanna make a different app. I will edit the post!
They should make an Ozlo model in-game and have his beard as an accessory.
On a similar note, we had a suggestion to have new hair items in this "Hairy Update/Promo". It sadly didn't go far.
"I'll Be Back."
*Thumbs up and melts*
- Liminori the Terminator (2014)
I promised I'd move Strom if Isphea (Controlled by Liminori) didn't move...
But Liminori's situation is stopping them from writing a reply.
I suppose when situations like this rise up, it's better to ask for opinions:
Should I move Strom now? Or wait for Liminori to "be back in a week or less."
(quoted from Liminori in "The Yore of Almire (RP)")?
We also haven't heard anything from Zhaver in a while. He might've even forgot about this whole thing.
Move Strom.
I've convinced my very non-negotiable stepdad to let me use the computer.
Either way, I have no idea what's going on- And therefore cannot take an action as soon as you would like.
Zhaver told us (on A New Kind of Roleplay) that he just came back from being grounded. So there's that.
[Seeing as I've been sitting around gathering info for so long... I figured I might as well collect all the info here and make it easier for myself by posting all findings here. This post can also be used by others in combat with descriptions of other Knights in Assist-moves in combat.
These took me One hour and 25 minutes to gather, all in all. I looked over every post, and read everything while looking for anything appearance based. Seriously.
It probably doesn't seem like much... But I'm a very detailed worker with my responses. These'll be useful in character interaction from now on, anyways. :T]
---------------
Nyroc:
Weapon/Shield(s):
- Oversized Thwack Hammer
- Guardian Shield
Gear:
- Plate Mail
Other:
N/A
Condition:
Strom's finger was previously lodged into him in an unknown area, it was then ripped out. Swarm Corruption happened for a short while, but disappeared after the form change. Wound is probably still open with an unknown depth of peircing. I'll leave how badly damaged it left Nyroc to @Sawhero.
Nyroc's Shield has been activated close to Grell and Isphea, so Nyroc is shield-less.
---------------
Grell: Most of this info is in one place! Most!
Weapon/Shield(s):
- Claw Hand: A cybernetic arm equipped with an energy cannon and flamethrower, as well as doubling as his shield. Serves as his primary form of defense and secondary form of ranged offense. Susceptible to Swarm Corruption due to energy-dependence.
- Hawk Blade: A large, triangle-shaped sword handcrafted into the shape of a hawk beak (when looked at from the flat side). Serves as his primary form of melee offense.
- Gigant Cannon: A massive, dual-headed energy cannon strapped usually to his back, loaded to fire missiles of varying purposes and can be used as a blunt weapon when recharging. Serves as his primary form of ranged offense and secondary melee attack. Susceptible to Swarm Corruption due to energy-dependence
Unknown total amount of pre-loaded amunition (if pre-loaded ammunition exists). Other Ammo types:
- "Missles" -- unknown variety
- Bomb Drill: explosive drill, from what I presume.
- Energy Cannon (Seems to have seperate "Modes")
- Burst Setting is used for quick manouvering (recoil dodges)
- Flamethrower: Due to the fact that its ammunition comes from energy in the air, I'm going to assume Flames do not linger unless they set a combustible-material alight (because otherwise, it would need to be shot using liquid, like oil, for the flame to linger regardless of material-combustibility)
Gear:
- Black coat with orange trim that hangs near his knees.
- Black pants with silver shin guards and boots.
- Arms are notably armored.
- Left hand clawed with extra plating. (Due to "Claw Hand")
- A hood is pulled over his head, concealing his eyes in shadows.
Other:
- Strands of blood red hair hang over his face
Condition:
No damage/buffs have been sustained.
---------------
Keep:
Weapon/Shield(s):
- Gran Faust
- Fang of Vog
- Heater Shield
Eschaton [Battle Sprite]
- Implanted with a very powerful Artificial Intelligence that grants her low-level sentience and learning capability, but is Stuck at level 90
- Escha's ability to produce Keep's 'ultra mode' drug is based on her ability to transcend her preset knowledge. She can make much more than acids, explosives, and invisible ink.
- Optimistic and brave
Gear:
- Divine Veil with Sunglasses
- Divine Mantle
- (Under Divine Mantle) Sleeveless version of the Spiral Order's standard issued undershirt
- (Under Divine Mantle) A pair of green-striped boxers
Other:
- Average Build
- Crew Cut
- Tanned Skin
- Sprite Language Converter Module (Hardly used, due to being able to understand Escha based on her pitch)
Condition:
Previously hit by a gauntlet, which caused him to cough up blood.
Keep is currently in a kind of 'super-mode' at the moment, basically 'high' under the effects of a special drug. The drug shuts down a number of his nerves, namely the ones that let him feel pain, while simultaneously amping up his adrenaline levels to the very limit.
He may not FEEL pain, but he actually takes MUCH MORE OF IT.
He can only maintain this state for about 4 minutes. He can force himself to go for 5 minutes, but at that point, he'll pass out. From the given situation, about 30 seconds have passed since Keep went under the influence of this drug -- but that time is actually unknown... I need more opinions.
---------------
Isphea:
Weapon/Shield(s):
- Gun (UNKNOWN TYPE)
Gear:
- UNKNOWN
- Headphones
Condition:
No damage/buffs have been sustained.
Everyone is probably studying for finals, I haven't been able to post much either. Maybe in a week or two people will return.
In Haven for a few minutes, if anyone wants to hang...
@Colray I do not mean to offend you, but you are wrong. There are people here who aren't American.
So nobody is paying attention to my character(D:)?I bet he could stand his ground against Strom (fite me ember).
Sorry, I didn't mean to refer to all people, I had just seen a couple people say they are busy because of finals, not just this site.
@Keepscaite
EDIT: Fixed. But I'm keeping the lyrics below.
Whoahhhhh, we're halfway theeere,
WHOAAAAAA, LIVING ON A PRAYER
--------------------------------
@Sawhero
I'm guessing that Nyroc just went full suicide-bomber? Dang. The death count rises. I liked Nyroc. He sounded like a good guy from what I'd read of him. ; -;
EDIT: Answer given. But... Who will the blast all effect? From the post it sounds huge.
--------------------------------
@Whyna
Your character was accepted by Sawhero, was it not? If you want to have him fight Strom... Just move him over from wherever he is to where Strom is in a logical manner. And by that I mean don't make him poof there magically, but make travel events leading to Strom's location.
Also, no. No 1v1's. I know the signs for a battle of 1-upsmanship when I see them.
I'm not afraid.
I promise.
*hides*
Ah crap, how'd I miss that? Now I feel dumb.
And is there some sort of application I should/gave to fill out?
Its useful to create an app so the other people know what they're dealing with. as for a format... make it yourself.
A lot of us (Zhaver, Liminori, Colray, Sonosuke, me and even Sawhero himself) didn't even bother making an application. We just jumped right in.
Name:
Auto "Tech Star" Daxen-Son.
Commonly found in Gunner Armor, after the Spiral Order fell he has moved into Moorcraft as a more permanent base of Operations, storing a large amount of gunner armor and weaponry there.
Wears a Wild Kat Suit, Spookat Mask. Other times found in a Kat Eye Cowl + Kat Eye Remnant. Rarely in a Shadowsun Setson and Slicker.
Always has his Omega Shell with him.
Has a Leviathan Blade strapped to his leg, carries a Gilded Griffin, Argent Peacemaker, Sentenza, Obisidion Carbine (That he pulled out a Swarm Cultist's cold corpse).
Sometimes has Valiance, Rift Locker, Arcana, Phantamos, or Neutralizer mixed it.
Has a Seraphynx named Angela as his eternal companion, with Disintegration Ray, Iron Heart Attack, Valkyrie Aura.
An old knight whose spent a lot of time on Cradle, has been living in the Clockworks for a while before Haven fell. Named "Daxen-son" in memory of the Hero named, whether he lives or not.
Ember-if Nyroc could smash trees, I think he could hit a copy at Strom. Don't worry, Strom is free to survive. I just felt maybe the battle was taking too long. (What was it, like three weeks?)
Tech-Come on in, the water's fine. No apps needed.
Tech / Auto, call him whatever, is currently wandering the Gremlin Compound that Caite is in.
Hey everyone, I will be in game for a couple hours under the usernames sawhero or aelhion, sawhero being my main knight and aelhion me alt. If anyone wants to chill just send me a friend request.
I don't know if it was my computer, or the servers, or what, but I ended up not being able to play much. The game froze up, and messed up my whole computer. It could be a few days before I'm back in-game again.
How about an entirely different idea? Remember how, in my introductory posts, Nyroc was writing in a book? I'm thinking of starting yet another thread, this one linking to a document, probably through Google, somewhat like LoN, with it being Nyroc's Guide to a Devastated Cradle. I was thinking that I could draw on characters as described here and in the RP, along with some lore to give a background. I will ask questions about how some of the lore (e.g. Swarmbane) should go, and people can give their ideas here. I will draw on those ideas to make the "book." I've always wanted to write a game encyclopedia anyways...
Special Ending 1 Achieved.
Alright. So. Strom has unleashed most of his Swarm Abilities at this point, so I'm gonna copy and paste the completed information of his attacks and appearance on this post with a short summary of what they do... Most of them haven't changed at all, though. The way Strom will be fighting will have also changed... So keep that in mind.
Appearance: Strom's physical features haven't changed much since his first form, with the exception of a couple of areas on his armor and such.
Instead, destroying the crystal unleashed his Sword, which is the first hidden ending. If you manage to defeat Strom, the corruption surrounding his sword will be undone, and the weapon will remain.
Well, I say simple... But it's gonna be hard to approach Strom with his Sword, which accelerates very quickly (more info on it below), and the four Swarm-Doppelgängers standing in the knights' paths. But the damage sustained by the knights seems to carry over slightly to Strom himself... Use that to your knights advantage after they realize this for themselves.
Abilities: Strom's abilities will now all be revealed to you. But that doesn't mean that your characters should know about them, or their limitations -- remember that. I'll indicate which ones should be known, and which ones shouldn't at this point to make things simple.
This ability should be known by the knights, so long as they've ever been in a graveyard and know what a phantom is.
The regeneration has been witnessed by Keep and Nyroc, glanses have now been seen by Grell and Isphea. The rate at which the armor, or void-black areas regenerate is probably unknown unless the one who saw it is very observant. Because no void-black areas have been struck yet, its regeneration time in comparison to regular armor is not known to anyone but himself.
Keep and Nyroc have witnessed this, but have not necessarily noticed its 5m-radius-limitaiton unless they were very observant. Grell and Isphea saw the armor not being attached to Strom, but can't know much else about the it at this point.
The sword's capabilities have been seen in the last post, but at this point it isn't known that the sword acts independently. Rate of speed is also not entirely known, because it's only moved once.
The number of Swarm eyes able to be created is unknown to all but Strom. The only ones who've actually witnessed the Swarm eyes are Syber and Keep, but how much they know about the eyes is up to their intuition, because the eyes didn't really do much during combat other than communicate and seemingly sit there for no apparent reason (due to the fact that no one knows that they can be used as relay-stations to mobile armor. It would be easier to assume that the Mobile armor simply has no limited range at this point, unless a knight that witnessed them being used is very keen). Nyroc may have gotten a glimpse of it while rushing at Strom, but nothing more than that, as it vanished the instant before he attacked.
No one knows Strom can use this ability other than himself & his sword... Which should be obvious.
Note, that special attention I payed to Nyroc when he was hit by Strom's finger is how the Swarm's touch feels when it occurs. But due to the corruption happening before stage two, within Nyroc's next action, the influence will wear off on its own.
Only Nyroc will know that this ability is present at this point.
You also may have noticed that the Book of the Swarm has its own Eye of the Swarm, which means it's an independent Swarm-item, like Strom's Épée. This also means it won't be restored if damaged. But it's quite sturdy. The "leather" is actually Snarbolax hide coated over with a Rock Jelly sheen. I'll give a back-story as to how and where Strom found this book after the conflict with Strom has been settled.
Also, note that Strom has already drawn a lot of stuff into the book already, including the scene with all the dead wolvers... Expect them to show up if you don't get to destroying the book right away (I'm not even hinting at that, it'll happen). Even miscellaneous drawings, like the flower he drew while heading towards the camp, will prove troublesome if Strom continues to use his book.
Whenever something new is made, in order to generate a mock-Eye-of-the-Swarm, crystals derived from newly made Swarm Creatures must be used to form the eye. The more complex the beast, the more shards required. All repairs to already created monsters don't require anything but ink and the book's pages. Decimating the mock-Eye-of-the-Swarm causes the monster to die for a short time (~30 seconds)... And then Very Slowly regenerate to its intended form on its own.
And since you're going to probably get to destroying the thing right off the bat, now that I've told you how harsh having it in play will be... I'll tell you this, too: Destroying the Book of the Swarm activates the Second Secret Ending (which isn't so secret now that I've told you).
All that's known to the characters about the book at this point is that it can make Swarm-Doppelgängers and repair them, and that it probably has to do with Strom writing or drawing something into his book.
Phew. That took a while to write, my arms kinda hurt.
I'm looking forward to a good battle.
