I present to the public the Spiral Knights Mist Tracker app for android devices 1.6 and up.

Description
With this app, you can:

  • Keep tabs on your mist energy in real-time. (Due to certain constraints, mist energy will be approximate)
  • Know when your mist energy level will reach a certain amount
  • Get notifications as your mist energy fills up

Usage
Either tap the mist bar or use the menu to set your current mist energy. A table of energy level and ETA will appear automatically. Mist energy will fill and the time remaining will update as time goes on. Use the menu to go into the settings to configure notifications.

Permissions
Requires "Hardware Controls: control vibrator" permission to optionally vibrate the device when a notification is displayed

Download
As I don't have $25 for the registration fee to put this on android market, it is only available as a direct download:
Download .apk

Changelog
1.1.1 Added multiple widget sizes
Fixed bug where keyboard entry for current mist did not work properly
Added forum post link to about dialog
1.1.0 Added home-screen widget
1.0.2 Updated mist regen rate to be more accurate [details]

Feedback is encouraged so if you have any problems or suggestions let me know and I will do my best. Hope somebody finds this useful.

Because with Apple they test

Because with Apple they test it thoroughly and have a chance not to let one through, Also I think that it costs more than $25 to put it up. Although, to be truthful, you could figure this out for yourself by using a calculator and a time-piece; but seeing the amout of effort you put into this this is great!

What dark ritual?

Wish it was for apple. Oh well. Cool though, good job.

Do we have to enter our password and stuff? Can't download from my iPod.

I would like to make a ios

I would like to make a ios version sometime but it just doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. It is a pretty trivial function for an app, however there is just something satisfying about carrying around your mist bar in your pocket.

This app does not need your user credentials and I would not trust anything that does. As far as I know, there is no way to get user data from the server via an API or any other means.

i've been looking for something like this for a long time...but now I've sorta got a rhythm goin, so I don't need it :) Thanks for your hard work though, the screens look exactly like something I would have wanted a couple months ago.

@hugh_jeffner

Even if there were a way to pull data from user accounts, it'd be a sure way to get users banned.
There's plenty of things in the ToS against it.

btw I don't think it costs

btw I don't think it costs anything but an account to make 3rd party apps for jailbroken devices so it would be extra nice if you did that ;D

Bug Report & Suggestions

Bug
When trying to set the energy number, if you press in the number field to pop up the number keyboard, it doesn't accept the input number. The user is forced to use the really annoying plus and minus buttons to set the energy number.

Edit: I found that I have to press the enter button after entering in the energy number, THEN press the set button. I was entering in the number on the virtual keypad, then pressing the set button. Still a bug, but very minor.

Suggestions
I'd also suggest a sub menu where users can contact you, rather than dig up a thread 3-4 pages back in here. Maybe create a gmail account for managing the feedback and that sub menu sends to that account.

It would be cool to have different sizes for the home screen widget. Taking up an entire 4 icon row can be a bit much.

Nice little application btw, thanks for your work on it.

New release 1.1.1

Added multiple widget sizes
Fixed bug where keyboard entry for current mist did not work properly
Added forum post link to about dialog

I will be working on a better feedback and update system eventually but contact info is in the about dialog for now. Once I'm satisfied with a stable release I may consider taking the plunge and putting this up on the market. IOS version might be in the coming months but not anytime soon, sorry about that.

Lets petition SK to pony up

Lets petition SK to pony up the $25 to get this app on the Android market!! lol, in essence it's only helping SK in the end, because players will be more apt to log back in once that timer goes off lol. Unlike me who forgets all the damn time when my ME gets full.

Lets get that registration fee taken care of!

Hey Everblunt!

I think this app is great and I'd love to see it in the market! I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of allowing me to take care of that registration fee for ya.

Paypal is the first thing that comes to mind in terms of wiring you the fee, but if you have different method you prefer, lemme know!

Everblunt!

Hey, great job with the app! Absolutely brilliant.

One addition that would be awesome (and very easy to implement) would be a crowns to ce converter. The user could punch in the current market price of CE and then find out how many stacks of CE something in the AH would cost or whatever. You could easily just add tabs at the top of the main screen and switch between mist schedule and cr/ce converter.

Been using this one for a while now. Works very well so long as you remember to set mist when you're done playing.

iOS

For those of you on iOS:

I'm sure Everblunt would be happy to do an iOS version, if someone would be willing to give him the $99 Apple charges per year to its developers. Oh, and if he doesn't have a Mac to develop on, someone would have to buy him one of those, too (iOS development can only be done on a Mac).

Heck, I'll do it myself if someone buys me a Mac and the $99 dev fee! (And I am a software dev, so I'm not just blowing smoke.)

I don't think Andriod has java

You need to learn how the game works. It only runs by java

The app doesn't actually use

The app doesn't actually use java. You Just edit your mist level to your current on your knight and the app tracks it through the hours. You don't need to input your password or anything, its more like manually typing in how much energy you have and the tracker works from there.
