Unable to join most dungeon parties, and dropped connections

Whenever I attempt to join a dungeon party that is not at a Clockwork Terminal, I will be disconnected from the server. This includes parties at Emberlight or Moorcraft. I also am disconnected whenever I attempt to join a friend/guildmate in Haven.
Sometimes, when I log in, then click a character in the select, the text "Heading into Haven..." shows up, then the screen goes black and the login music loops from the beginning. Nothing happens, and I have to close the process from Task Manager.
I run Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 on 64-bit, with Java 6.26, and play SK through Steam. I have 4 GB RAM, an Intel core i7 1.6 GHz processor which can overclock up to 2.5 GHz.

I crashed in IMF (I always crash in that dungeon, due to a memory leak). When I started up SK again, it immediately disconnected me from the server, instead of putting me back in the level. When I logged in again, I was back in Haven. This is worrying because I also crash at Vanaduke...
I'm having a similar problem. Ill join off a friend and itll boot me off the server, spitting me back in haven. this also happens to me when i try to join pvp
and is quite annoying
I have filed several in game bug reports and also in technical issues.
I can start my own party - sometimes, but sometimes I just get disconnected and sent back to Haven.
I can not join any party in progress without the client immediately dropping the connection and taking the 10 CE elevator fee.
The client then immediately reconnects, no problem. This has only been happening since the last patches.
It is making the game pretty much unplayable since I'm just throwing CE at elevators and hoping I may get somewhere.
This has cost me somewhere between 100-150 CE to date.
I am playing via Steam and all other games are stable, no problem with internet connectivity at all.
Please fix this.
Thank you,
Jacobey

Happened to me again when i tried to return to haven via menu when i got on the elevator(I do that so i don't have to load-up "the Core", but still get heat)
The screen it booted me to *pic* was unresponsive, maybe cause it still thought i was on an elevator. Had to close client.
The disconnecting, booting, whatever, only started here recently, with one of the recent patches.
Really wanna see a fix.
I've had the same thing happen also on coming up from Moorcraft Manner.
I had the "treasure collected" window overlaid on top of the client.
Didn't think to screen capture it, but only way to resolve it was to kill the client entirely.

when i also join or start a party this happens its really starting to get me mad its taking my CE and im about to quit this and never play again due to this problem.!!!!!!!!!
The problem is hitting me hard again too. I tried varifying my local steam content, and each time, it says 7 files failed to varify and will be downloaded again. And each time I do this, the problem happens again. I think something was seriously wrong with the steam patches. This error has already eaten a good chunk of energy and at least 3k in my own crowns.
More than likely, steam trade is conflicting with important programs, or something.
I just ran the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" function and it came back and said 10 files needed to be updated.
I've done that... and the game patched itself.
I reran the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" function and it came back with 7 files failed to verify.
Game patched itself again.
I logged in and was able to join a party on L12.
However, when we got to L13 Basil (I was first one there) - all recipes were Zero'ed out.
(will keep an eye on this to see if it repeats).
Reran the "Verify Integrity" test again and it still said 7 files failed to verify.
So - I deleted the game off my computer and reinstalled.
Reran the "Verify Integrity" test again and said "All files successfully validated".
Suggest anyone else who is having this problem and running steam:
1) Select Spiral Knights from your games list, right click, Select "Properties"
2) Pick "Local Files Tab" and Select "Verify Integrity of Game Cache"
3) IF you don't get "All files successfully validated" THEN Select "Delete Local Game Content"
4) Reinstall game and REPEAT "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". You should get "All files successfully validated".
I don't have time to log back into client to see if this solves it or not.
Hopefully someone else can and update thread.
Three Rings - you need to sort out what happened with your latest patch and Steam because there is clearly an issue.
Thx,
Jacobey

That's a feature not a bug. It's meant to prevent people from joining just before, or at Basil, buying recipes and then selling them for profit. If you had joined at 11 or 10 Basil would have had recipes to sell you.
It's a shame Steam doesn't tell you what files it's verifying; that information would help a lot.

I reininstalled, and first thing that happens when I log in is I freeze. Again. I check integrity and it's found 7 files. Again.
The problem is that although Steam can patch those 7 files, when you start SK it immediately begins patching it BACK to its glitchy state.
Yes - I had the same thing happen. Still finding 7 files that are at odds.
However - I haven't had any of the original weirdness I saw earlier (i.e. I can join parties).
Note: the 7 files are 110MB in size... (no idea what they are though).
Hopefully - this will give OOO or our Steam overlords something to work with.

So today, I had 1 of 3 attempts to join a party boot to a disconnect.
On my way back up to Haven, I also had the same issue as shown in #5 of this thread.
I had to kill SK to resolve.
Maybe a coincidence - but there was a Steam News update waiting after I killed the game.
*shrug*
I'll see if it gets any better after the bug patch is applied.
EDIT: Nope - now it's saying 8 files failed to validate and will be reacquired. Client is downloading 195.6MB of data. (Whole Game is 289MB).
Jacobey.
im having difficulty i was playing fine at 5pm and now when i enter a dungeon my screen goes black for 20minz before i exit the window.... what the hecks going on?!?!!! Dx
I have a similar problem since their double patch that one day: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/24573
When they added the new danger rooms, etc.
I get the same issue randomly when logging on, joining from an invite or using an elevator. Probably lost around 70 Energy and 1400 Crowns from this already.

I have about 20 Days of gametime logged in this game.. and what I am about to explain has only been happening to me the last 3 days
when a blast network game OR when I join a friends game who is already in a depth in clockworks not 3 seconds after it trys to load my game i get "you have been disconnected from the server" and I am back at the knight selection screen.
when I log back into my game I am back in either arcade or town square and have lost 10 energy (if it were a non blastneork game)
I lost about 200 energy over the last few days from this happening .. some mist some of it CE.
These random disconnects are happening whenever you do something that changes the "game type". Any transition between Haven, Clockworks, or Blast Network will sometimes randomly result in a disconnect. No lag or anything, it just abruptly kicks you to the login screen without warning. It's exceptionally obnoxious with Blast Network because unlike with Clockworks (I think I've had once or twice where I got disconnected, but didn't lose energy. I might be mistaken, though), it always deducts your entry fee beforehand, which means you're out 200 crowns no matter what. I played Blast Network for a few minutes today and won every match I got into... and it was barely enough to cover all the crowns wasted from the random disconnects.
I seriously hope you're planning on compensating everyone with a power surge weekend or something, because the net amount of energy and crowns lost by all players over the last week is absolutely astronomical.
I play on Steam, but don't have this issue----however, I recently validated my game cache.
I had to do it a couple of times, until all the files were validated, but have any of you tried that?
A full uninstall/reinstall might be unnecessary.
How do you validate the cache? (On the steam version.)
So I figured it out, and validated them all at once, 8 files.
Then when I pressed play in steam, Spiral Knights had to patch (and verify itself.) Steam said 8 files were corrupted, and had to download again. Repeat this process infinitely, won't help me, sadly.
For those affected by this verification bug, you should post the log output for comparison.

Having a simmilar problem. When I try to start a fresh party, or join a party, I get disconnected. The game is still kind enough to ding me the 500 entree fee when this happens, so I'm down 1.5k, and I can say I didn't have this problem yesterday before the patch and the new content.
*Edit* I don't know what is going on, but I think it might be fixed. Very confusing to me.
