Immediately disconnected from server when selecting a knight to login (Steam)

Upon launching SK and successful initial login, I select my knight to head to haven; not 2 seconds afterward I was immediately redirected to the connect/loging screen. (Like when you are auto-logged for idleness or when you log out) I was given an error just saying that I was disconnected from the server. I've filed an in-game bug report too.

This just started happening today and nothing has changed on my system since my last login--last night.

Is there anything going on with the SK servers or Steam that I'm not aware of?

I have had a similar problem

I have been getting this

I have been getting this too.
I run from the Steam client and I have the same CPU specs as you do.
Sometimes I even get disconnected from joining a Coliseum game, entering a new room in Haven, or during the elevator animation at the end of a level.

I have about 20 Days of

I have about 20 Days of gametime logged in this game.. and what I am about to explain has only been happening to me the last 3 days

when a blast network game OR when I join a friends game who is already in a depth in clockworks not 3 seconds after it trys to load my game i get "you have been disconnected from the server" and I am back at the knight selection screen.

when I log back into my game I am back in either arcade or town square and have lost 10 energy (if it were a non blastneork game)

I lost about 200 energy over the last few days from this happening .. some mist some of it CE.

I was finally able to log

I was finally able to log back into my account, but like many of the responses above I too have more and more frequent disconnects. This all started for me on September 8th. I've filed multiple bug reports and sent two emails thus far and all with zero response from OOO.

So far I've only lost a few hundred crowns from Blast Network due to disconnects when trying to join the staging area, but this is getting very ridiculous.

What's the deal with Steam and SK connectivity?

I play on Steam, but do not have this problem----however, I recently validated my game cache. Have any of you tried that?
If that does not help, then something is wrong with your Steam or SK install. Uninstalling/reinstalling SK might help.

I too have the same issues as these users.

  • Initial cache verification showed 10 files.
  • Launched SK to get those files, then closed.
  • Ran the cache verification again, and came back with 8 files.
  • Launched SK again, then closed.
  • Ran the cache verification again, 8 files again...
  • ... Rinse/Repeat 3 more times.
  • Finally uninstalled/reinstalled SK and still the same issue.

So what is the deal here? I've tried on different internet connections to aquire these files with no success.

It might be an issue with your Steam install itself. This problem seems to be very inconsistent across Steam users, few commonalities are popping up among the players affected.

After digging around, I finally found the log file.

For those with this file verification issue, this log file is located: C:\Program Files\Steam\GameValidation.log
Check this after you've done a few rounds of the file integrity check and updating by logging into SK.

The later validations were after some tinkering I did when I compared a downloaded copy of the game and the steam client version.
Deleted some files and subsequently got it down to one file. Note - these were showing either 0 bytes or some indication they were an old, pre-patch version. I did not delete the core files in the list of 8 shown.
I've subsequently now, not had problems joining parties but still have the steam client go wonky sometimes during the elevator ride back to Haven.
I haven't tried any Blast Network stuff since the patching back on the 9th.
It might be coincidence or not.
