AUTO TARGET IN PVP = STUPID
I stoped using auto target a looooooooooong time ago. It sucks to use, you attack any thing near you and can't focus on 1 monster when you need to because you might bounce from 1 to another, can't do DA tricks, can't shoot a gun where you need it (I like bouncing enimies back and forth with my polaris some times instead of just shooting them)
Take auto target off in the options if you have it on, it's a baby buffer.
But you might as well leave it on if you can't bowl up to a 50 without the gutter guards up.
Just team-up on somebody with auto-target, they'll get "confused" and attack once each attacker instead of concentrating on a single opponent.
Instead of complaining again [you point out yourself that you already have a thread on that topic] (I think personally that auto-target is ok, especially for gunners), adapt :
- get a flourish ;)
- recognize the pattern and abuse it (see above)
- play T1 PvP
- use more guns and bombs, you shouldn't be targeted at all
- don't forget to enjoy the game !!!
A. Auto aim is available to everyone.
B. Seems like you want them to change to game for you because you have a high ping.
C. Good luck with this you'll need it.
D. Don't let the door hit you on the way out when you fail.
E. Nice circumvention of the suggestions forum to cry in general.
The more I notice idiots who don't like dying
1. If you don't like people using it on you then use it on them
2. You need to learn how to fight better
3. Stop complaining and do steps one and two
I turn that dumbass auto aim for monsters and off
Because my gun sucks when it doesn't get what I want
But its such a hassle turning it on and off sometimes I accidentally have it on in lockdown
So lets all just be happy and have everyone use the damn thing in lockdown
You happy now?
I honestly don't understand why every Lockdown elitist cries about people using auto-lock. EVERYONE CAN USE IT. It would be a problem if it weren't. Instead, we just get stubborn idiots who refuse to use it, yet they cry and whine when others do. Is it an excuse when you die? Because they auto-locked and you didn't?
If you choose not to use it that is your problem. Don't try to belittle the guys that use it, and do well.
Auto target in PvP IS stupid. Because of that motion, which should just help newbies, ******skills are replaced by AI's doings******.
But yeah since it's available distinctlessly, I also ended up using it. I even ended up buying a Final Flourish. It would be a good move to disable it, but as long as devs won't understand the issue with it, we'll have to get used to it.
Oh no, someone dont like auto-target.. REMOVE IT !
I have 3 things I wish to say.
- The Dev team had disabled the auto-target function at the beginning of Lock Down testing. After everyone complained about that, the Devs added the function right away. You might be wondering why? Because when almost all of your players ask for something reasonable, it generally behooves a Dev team to acquiesce to their costumers desires.
- If someone is going to complain about the Auto-target, their argument should consist of something more substantial than "it's crutch that no one should use," or "I don't need/use it, you shouldn't either." There's a word for the sort of person who does this, I think the word is "scrub," but I can't be arsed to verify it. Anyway, the point is you are in the vast minority and no one besides other scrubs will take these arguments seriously.
- Those who complain about auto-target are part of such a marginal part of the player base that their complains will never be taken seriously, but in the interest of having a good discussion, I humbly request that no one makes another post containing the aforementioned type of argument, as they will do nothing to contribute to the purposeless dialogue.
The people who were testing were playing customers with wet clay, and OOO isnt going to take the time to see if Gian or anyone else is paying CE, and won't change lockdown becuase they don't like changing "official" things. It has nothing to do with a majority whatsoever, and you leaving a silly disclaimer at the end of your post, asking the opposition to stop talking while you namecall them, is in itself a silly retreat tactic used by what you would identify as a "scrub". Metophoricaly, you are trying to kite us, with the help of autoaim of course.
Here we go again.
- Even if it is as you claim, and OOO's decisions have nothing to do with what the majority of their players base wants, and instead OOO operates according to what their paying players want, then it doesn't change the fact that the the most influential players like auto-target, so OOO isn't changing it.
- I can sort of understand what you tired to say with "playing customers with wet clay," but that is an inaccurate statement that greatly exaggerates the testers' influence.
- I wrote a disclaimer? By "disclaimer," do you mean the whole "scrub" thing? If you did, then rest assured I looked it up later, and found that scrub fit quite nicely.
- I didn't tell anyone to stop talking; I asked for people to stop posting the same scrub arguments over and over, and instead try to make more valuable contributions to the dialogue. My professors have hammered into me the belief that if you are part of an argument, then you should make new points, refute previously unrefuted points, or keep your yap shut, because everything else wastes the time of all parties involved.
- Your claim that "asking the opposition to stop talking while you namecall them" is a retread tactic is arguable, since it is a good way for you to get entrenched in an insult war. Also, it doesn't apply to what my previous statements, because what I did was more than simply demands that others shut up.
- Your metaphor was not very good and your final implication only served to make it convoluted.
I find that Auto Lock is mostly unnoticeable most of the time in Lockdown. However, the only time I do notice it is when I get tracked and killed by an auto target user with a Barbarous Thorn Blade when I'm a cloaked Recon. That is when it is annoying. With guns, it's kind of unfair in LD; you don't have auto aim in a First Person Shooter game? Do you?~
To sum things up, the Auto Aim option was designed for PVE, but fails in it. In PVP, it can be very annoying at times.
When a game has competition added, all of a sudden random things start getting noticed that are fairly OP.
And yes, I do get that everyone can use it.
There's a difference between an FPS and this game. The most important difference is that your POV in a fps is limited to the "front", or approximately x degree view of the screen. Here, it's a top-down perspective, with a clear view in all directions. Don't make comparisons to completely different genre of games.
@Gianfri
Please give us better reason than "figure it out yourself".
The link I posted at the beginning of the thread has a lot of my views. Check that out, I don't feel like explaining it again.
Arguement: Autolock messes up my shooting.
Is it just me? Or does AL disable when you are gunning while moving? (minus the guns that don't allow movement during fire)
Arguement: You attack any thing near you and can't focus on 1 monster
Although I see your point, why not just adapt and make it possible to focus on one monster? (i.e shield up)
Arguement: which should just help newbies, ******skills are replaced by AI's doings******.
Doesn't AL only finetune your aiming? I mean when you try and hit something, aren't you usually aiming at them?
Arguement: it's a baby buffer.
Some people may think so. I generally approve of it because it removes the annoyance of flying past the monster you're trying to kill before it hits you. I'm aiming directly at the monster btw, its like AL keeps me from jumping too far or something. (I've had it happen WAY TOO OFTEN, especially with Zombies and their annoying tracking.)
There's many flaws to recons
It's not AA fault for uncovering yourself
I have a strategy for p@*^! recons like you
And maybe others use it to
When I am capturing a point then I wait in the middle of it
Because if a recon is coming in cloak the capture will stop
Then i release my charge from my tsb
Then it just takes one hit more and they're dead
And if one is running away, theres not much room where it can run away in lockdown
So I just use my striker to go ahead a little then attack anyone that might be there
I don't get what you said. I don't uncover myself as a recon, and I know how to use it. I never attempt to capture a point when someone else is occupying it. I'm not that stupid, and not a "p@*^! recon".
I will admit that using the Barbarous Thorn Blade was a bad example.
Though, I am pretty frequently killed by GUNNERS, who did not see any warning that I was near, and snipe me from a far distance with the first shot, even though I am usually behind them in the first place. Obvious use of Auto Aim as basically an "aimbot" for hitting cloaked recons.
If they remove the hitting recon part of AA, so be it.
As I said before, Competitive gameplay always brings up many OP'd features in a game.
All that needs to be done
AA only ruins recon
So it can be adjusted so that during lockdown recons can't be targeted
Then with everything else the noobs and pros can bash it out with AA
Gianfri hates target lock. ORLY <_<
Not that I don't agree, but still.
