This is a Direct response to the Guild hall upgrades topic posted by severage here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/40011

-I mainly am going to simplify some of his ideas as they could be seen more practically in the future.

1. Mission Center - So right off the bat I removed the idea of guildhall elevators, just seems very complex to fathom that (possibly, although unrealistically) every guild in existence could have them and have them supported. However why not replace that notion with the upcoming mission center. Instead of a fully fledged large gate access have a portable mission center within your guildhall.

2. Interact-able Decorations - Many decorations would be place-able around the guild hall such as chairs and benches, maybe a throne, but you would be able to click on them and automatically sit in them. Also capitalizing on the idea for guild showcases, it would be cool to have Mannequins where guildies could display there sets of gear, it would only show them kind of a monument to their success, the owner of the mannequin would still be able to run around in the gear displayed.

3. Guild Crest - Capitalizing on the idea of guild crests that imbue all decorations placed in your guild hall. But lets dumb it down a lot. For a marginal cost you could see your Guild Hall Manager (a stranger) and choose a 3 layered design a mesh of many different logos and colors. Guild tabards, imbued with your guild crest, would be purchasable but it would be an accessory that attaches to your armor as sev stated.

4. Location Themes - Set overall re-theme ability for your hall, so instead of the default theme there could be an FSC theme, Graveyard theme, Treasure Vault theme.

5. Auction House Courier Stall - Just a stranger in a stall near your alchemy station that allows direct access to the auction house

---Edit---
Addressing the visiting systems and bulletin board systems. While the visiting system i do not contest to, i felt it was unnecessary and a guild hall should be a special meeting hall for members only or else it defeats the purpose. One day you'd end up in your guild hall and all your fresh recruits will be showing up in your hall with their invited hall showing off all the fancy things within. Then you'd end up with a room full of beggars asking for cr and ce.

As far as the bulletin board I think a simply daily guild message that broadcast on login (much like wow) should suffice.

Revisiting my gripe with the guild elevators sev made a list of really cool guild achievements which i was fond of but they all derived from guild elevator access so I've taken the liberty of retooling them.

1. (Baby Steps) Complete an entire Tier 1 expedition, following the defeat of Snarbolax or Rabid Snarbolax, while delving with a full guild party. (30)

2. (Skip, Hop and a Jump) Complete an entire Tier 2 expedition, following the defeat of Jelly King, Ice Queen, Roarmulus Twins, or Red Roarmulus Twins. while delving with a full guild party. (40)

3. (Clockworks Juggernaut) Complete an entire Tier-3 expedition, following the defeat of Vanaduke or Darkfire Vanaduke, while delving with a full guild party. (45)

-You'll also note i disregard the guild vault, seems pointless when all knights have unlimited inventory space. But it might be more sensible to have an option to donate to guild which would go strait to the Guild Hall Manager for later purchases.
-All of these features would have to be purchasable add-ons of course from your Guild Hall Manager.
-Decorations would most likely be purchased from some new npc who could occupy a space in the bazaar near Bechamel.
Side Note: It might be really cool if they implemented a guild leveling system with some type of passive reward (yes like wow)

At the top of this post is a link to the source post. There you can find a detailed and different opinion of many ideas for guildhalls.

Simplified

Good simplification, a lot quicker and easier to read hope all these good ideas get put into the game because as a guild master id like to do something with my guild hall.

Well its simplified...

But its important to note i took out or shortened ideas aswell, namely cutting out guild training rooms and guild elevators because i doubt it'll ever happen

Guild Vault Neglection

I find the Guild Vault very necessary. It doesn't hold items, it holds Crowns and CE used ONLY for Guild Upgrades, and the Guild Master CAN'T pull anything out of it. He can only use what's inside.

How would you like your Guild Master to say "Hey, give me 1200 CE so I can buy this upgrade for our Guild Hall", and then suddenly your Guild disappears?

You'll also find that due to "Mwahahahaha"'s contribution, I was working on connecting the Mission system to the Bulletin Board, which may indeed, replace Elevators (Which you seemed to remove Bulletin Boards completely as well).

I also don't see a visiting system mentioned in here, which I believe would be nice. Quote from my post:

"9 - Visiting System (Suggested by Hexzyle). "Invite non-guild members to visit the guild hall. Restricted to players of rank Officer or higher (recruitment rank) Non-guild members would have restricted access to some guild features, but would be able to donate into the guild's vault." ----Hexzyle"

And along with that point I said later that:

"They" (Visitors) "will be able to donate to the Guild Vault, and participate in the Mini-games, but would not have access to the Guild Elevators, Mineral deposits, etc.". I think that's somewhere in that cluttered post. Note that while he can *DONATE* to the Guild Vault, the amount within the Vault is only visible by the Guild Master and Officers."

Just to clear things up. I see that Guild Achievements were also taken out, which I thought was a neat idea; because even though you modified Elevators to be non-existent, they could simply be different and regard Missions instead.

All in all this is a fair summary, although if ever someone wanted to look at it all in greater detail, there's always my OP... :P

Well it wasn't only a simplification

I also altered some things, while the visiting system is intriguing, i saw it as not necessarily so didn't mention it. And i also mention at the end about the guild vault

"-You'll also note i disregard the guild vault, seems pointless when all knights have unlimited inventory space. But it might be more sensible to have an option to donate to guild which would go strait to the guild manager for later purchases."

So basically the same idea there. And for the guild achievements i left them out because most were related to guild elevators, so yes if you altered them to like "Defeating snarb with only guild members in the party" they would work for this system.

So this isn't only a simplification but an altered variant as well

The Drawing Board

As the title summarily indicates, there have been changes to the original thread (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/40011), and so I invite all of you, as well as future readers, to look at the newest changes.

@Tovvok: No summary is complete by leaving out important bits of information; regardless of your opinion on whether of not those ideas will be implemented, they should still be mentioned regardless so others may read about them and perhaps find a way to remodel them (if impractical) into better, fully-formed ideas. Your summaries are most welcome, however; I am not inferring that you should stop, Strangers forbid!

If you wish to continue a summation of ideas in the OP (plus additions), now might be a good time to review the OP.

Cheers!

Concerning Guild Vaults.

Yes, I read your quote: "-You'll also note i disregard the guild vault, seems pointless when all knights have unlimited inventory space. But it might be more sensible to have an option to donate to guild which would go strait to the guild manager for later purchases.".

And I utterly disagree with you. Why would you donate STRAIGHT to the Guild Master? I can assure you that all but the biggest, highest-reputation guilds will scam everyone in the Guild.

Miss-communication, my bad

No no no not the guild master, its a very fine line i'd figure there'd be some confusion, The guild manager "you could see your guildhall manager (a stranger)" - from #3.

When i said guild manager i was referring to the same npc who manages all your guildhall needs, such as themes, vault, guild crest creations. I'll change it to guildhall manager to avoid confusion.

lol.

Ahh okay that makes a bit more sense. I was totally missing the logic there. lol.

PS: I call him "Rudkin", since that was the name of the old Guild Hall stranger that was taken out of the game. :P
