Hey Spiral Knights Community, due to the fact that Tovvok's thread is outdated (And also perhaps not 100% satisfactory), I'll be making a short(er) summary of my Guild Hall Upgrades thread here. Due to this being a summary, I don't find it necessary for anyone to post on this thread. That'd just clog up the front page. If you would like to comment, I'd encourage you to comment on the original thread. Also please note, that any player suggestion that is an addendum to an idea may be removed due to the shortening of the thread, and recognition is not given here. Thanks!
Guild Hall System:
Vault System: A place where anyone can deposit Crowns/CE into (Including Visitors) which is used for later Upgrades.
Guild Hall Upgrades:
1 - Scenery Change: An upgrade that would allow you to change your Guild Hall's overall theme, based on levels in the Clockworks.
2 - Trade Room: A trade room controlled by a Stranger in which Guild members may put up trades to other Guild Members, similar to the AH. You may specify a certain Knight to be able to buy out your Trade as well (Useful for Timezone differences).
3 - Bulletin Board: A Notice Board in which new threads can only be created by the GM and Officers, but any Guildie can reply to (Unless it is locked). It would work in a forum-like manner, and the interface would be similar to that of your Mailbox. It would also double as a Guild-Exclusive Mission Board.
4 - Elevators: The Elevators would feature different mechanics than Arcade-Elevators, and when defeating bosses within your Guild Elevators, you would earn recognition via your Display Cases (See 6). Guild-specific dungeons would be implemented, as well as different difficulties and heat/crown acquisition rates. They may also be used later for Guild-Exclusive Missions.
5 - Display Cases: Display cases would contain a bosses' artifact after you defeated said boss within a Guild Elevator. This would include all 4 bosses and their Shadow Lair derivatives. The normal bosses would be a part 1 upgrade, and the Shadow Lair display cases would be purchased separately.
6 - Guild Crests: A nice upgrade which will feature a customizable crest that will appear on furniture like Rugs, Tablecloths, etc. as well as be available for use as an accessory for your Gear. The customization options will feature a variety of colors, and emblems for use. The Crest would be just like the Emblems in the CW, 3-layer with a background solid, background image, and foreground image. New colors and emblems would be available for purchase via Achievement Points.
7 - Training Area: Basically the ATH of the Guild Hall, but even more advanced. This area may feature specific families of creatures from each Tier, so that you could test all your damages and compare them with teammates' weapons as well. Another feature that could be added to this would be a Sparring Room, which is basically a PvP area for Guildmates only, deathmatch style. No classes, no control points, and you can use your own shield.
8 - Visiting System: A system that is thoroughly discussed in the OT, but basically here it is: visitors may go to any Guild they please, but may not use any Guild facilities aside from the Vault. That way friends and other GMs would be able to donate to your Vault. Through this system other visitors may also see how established your Guild and its upgrades are, which may encourage them to join up.
9 - Decorations: Simple decorations like Furniture, embroidered rugs that hang from the ceiling, and all other manner of decor. Spice up your Guild Hall!
10 - Guild Achievements: GAs would be achievements that are only able to be acquired while dungeoning via a Guild Elevator. These achievements may also track your Guild's progress if you never bought the Display Case upgrade, but still ventured through the Guild Elevators. They would also reward you with Achievement Points, which could then be used to spice up your Guild's Crest even further, by adding customization options. The achievements themselves are available on the OT.
11 - Records (Suggested by Mwahahaha): A little neat upgrade for the Guild Hall, in respect to Bookshelves. Once purchased, a devilite-style bookshelf could appear in your "Rec Room".
Within these bookshelves lie the records of each Guild Member therein. Upon clicking the Bookshelf, you would see a series of books; a window that would contain, in alphabetical order, books with all the Knights' names on them that are in the Guild.
Once you have clicked on said book of whichever Knight you wish to view, a little bit of information about that Knight would appear. It would be split into two sections, "Basic Info" (Including Language, Tier Clearance, Total Play Time etc.), and "Screenshots" (Screenies taken by the player and put into his photo album).
Prices for all upgrades have been taken out of this thread and are only available in the OT.
EDIT: New smaller ideas that I have recently added to the OT.
#1: "WILLY WONKA" ELEVATOR. Once stepping onto the elevator, you'd be able to choose if you want to go to the Arcade, Bazaar, or ATH. Remember, it goes all directions, not just up and down.
#2: Guild Spawn Point. Somewhere in your Options Menu, you could turn on (If you're in a Guild) the "Guild Spawn" toggle button. Whilst on, you would appear within your Guild Hall upon logging in, instead of the Town Square.
#3: Jukebox: A sound-test "machine" that would play BGMs in the Guild Hall, which all Guildmates' within the Hall would hear. It costs 5 Crowns to select a song, and 5 crowns to change it. Upon selecting a song, you would choose how many times it would loop (up to 5). After spending 30 Crowns on the machine, you wouldn't be able to change it again for an hour. A mini-achievement goes with this based on a pun, and is in the OT.
And there you go, the summarized version. Even though you don't really need to read the entire OT to understand the concepts, if you found this idea interesting, I'd encourage you to read the OT and comment on said thread. Elaborate details have been left out, and imo, they're the best part. :3
