How come Haven / the Spiral Knights are always "threatened to be destroyed" yadda yadda yadda..... then not.....

We have had too many things "threatening Haven" or us from the clockworks. I think we should for once have some guy on our side turn against us, and we have to kill him. Or maybe Haven is ACTUALLY destroyed! Or both!
Feron. Let's turn him against us, all along he has been working with Lord Tinkerface, the Gremlin leader dude whatever his name is.
And then we are without a leader, of course after the new added content where we chase him through a burning Haven itself. Through Bazaar which is the first level. Hordes of gremlin scorchers (reason for Haven being on fire), Some fire-themed devilites and pit bosses that escaped into Haven to take part in destroying it. Some other stuff too to make it tough, but mainly fire devilite / greaver + gremlins.
After we hit the Bazaar and save Bechamel from a swarm of fire-themed greavers (he helps you through the rest of the Bazaar using his scissor blades), we go to the ATH to save Konway. Along the way of all of this, there is burning debris that makes a path which directs you through every level almost entirely (so you basically go through the entire Bazaar / town square etc. by a snaking path of fiery debris). After finishing the Bazaar, Bechamel says how he returns to the Rescue Camp because he is in need of aid or something like that.
EDIT: Great idea from Thewach: Bosco finally finishes powering up that mecha knight. But it is a mecha knight on steroids. It is an optional little path that leads to Bosco, so it is your choice wether or not to help Bosco and have him power up his Mecha Knight. If you do, you will have a mecha knight that does not shock you or shield your bullets and is more powerful assist you. People will mainly do this for loot, as there are monsters along the way to Bosco.
In the ATH, we have re-programmed shuffle bots (the featured new monster of this content) which are deadly, act like jellies (added a jump to their strike like tier 1 jelly to tier 2 jelly) and shoot bullets in 4 directions after their attacks. They move faster as well. Devilites can pick up the respawning vials when you are clearing that section of the ATH, they will move towards them then chuck them at you after picking them up and aiming like their normal attacks (causing the status). Other stuff as well, maybe even troll you with some fire pots.
After saving Konway, he goes to the rescue camp and you move to the Town Square. Here, you just snake around every nook and cranny (guided by fiery debris as explained earlier) and the special part of this level is Monomi (The gun puppy in the garden, right? I think...). Well, Monomi is now a mini boss, a bigger than normal rocket puppy, but still small (not like roarm). You have to take care of an omega rocket puppy in that small room you are given in the garden, pretty much (If Monomi is not the puppy I am thinking about, please correct me). I can't think of anything else that could be in the Town Square.
After the Town Square, you move to the Arcade. This will be where you face Feron. At the start, you will see vertigaawefjh (The guy that you see in the Core that dual wields FF's, sorry can't remember his name). He possesses the striker speed boost (works for him automatically, no device held in shield hand), so it's kinda like a joke you know. He's got two toothpicks now, so he's an even more OP striker. Well, he helps you kill Feron. It is not going to be easy just because you have the OP striker though. I am not sure what the boss fight will be like, but some Recon invis combo. Either way once you beat him, if you beat him, he's all insane and jumps into the clockworks (over the edge of the arcade. By the way, the elevators are destroyed) and suicides at the end so it wasn't you that killed him but himself. This is when you get your tokens etc. etc. and have won, retaking Haven.
While this content goes on (F2P by the way, it has to be cause its a big part of the story), all of the knights will have to stay in the rescue camp (Rescue camp 1, rescue camp 2, etc, etc, they basically just replace Haven for a bit) for the duration. The rescue camp will have ALL of the features that Haven had. All new players crossing the chasm into "Haven" will be stopped by an NPC after reaching Haven who sends them back to the rescue camp "For their own good. Should they wish to help retake Haven in the future, they will need to venture into the clockworks and better themselves." (Or something like that... whatever..).
After about 2 weeks into the content, there will be a "New Haven" set up. New Haven sort of looks like an Old Haven, just different because of RP reasons, can't repeat the design entirely that'd be dumb. It also looks better and different so we don't have to stare at the same Haven for the entire duration of the life of this game (that would SUCK). It is in a different location than old Haven, so we can constantly have this "Retake Haven" mission for content that we can do forever like FSC. And in this New Haven, there will need to be a new leader...
KONWAY. That's right. Konway. He was a true leader all along.
He upgrades his armor. The hood to Divine Veil, the armor to Azure Guardian. Divine wings on the back. And, like all true leaders, we increase his size by roughly 25%.
So yeah let's destroy Haven for once.

I read that wall of text
I laughed at that wall of text
I go back to studying my pneumatic test

To answer the title:
Because we knights are overpowered, we have the GMs on our side, and we have CE which makes us unkillable.

This man... is a genius...
Edit:
What if Bosco finally fixed the broken knight and upgraded it into a steroid knight that helps you with the bazaar level?

ill become leader and lead the attack to winback haven

Shadow Lair: the Haven Menace... Good, good. http://mygeekblasphemy.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/emperor.jpg
Do it!

this is a great suggestion!!! but i dont think people should have to clear out of haven :P it would just be a separate level, and then after a week or so as you said, once alot of players had played the rescue haven thing, haven could be updated to look about... 20% cooler
Feron ... hm... that would be unexpected

I think its a great idea! Even if they don't do that as a mission/quest/whatever, they could make Haven get under attack every once in a while by gremlins and bots from the arcade. All the knights in said channel would automatically change to ready-to-fight stances, and fight them off. If for some reason we can't fight them off by said time, the NPCs come in and finish everything off and people don't get rewards?
/shrug

Okay, this is the first of these types of suggestions that actually enthralled me with the story. Wow. This is an AWESOME idea, and you deserve all the bumps you can get.
I always liked the idea of having a boss not be huge like all the current ones (even Snarby, the smallest, is 3-4x the size of a normal knight). It's like for those of us who played Ocarina of Time -- was the fight that stood out in your mind the reflect witches? Even Ganondorf himself? No, for a great majority it was the duel with Shadow Link. Similar abilities, tactics, hitbox... truly a fair fight on both sides.
I'm curious though -- where in lore does it say Faron has had contact with Lord tinker of the gremlins? Or would that be completely new?

Maybe a shadow/swarm-version of haven (free to enter of course)? It would be basically the same idea as yours, but we have to fight agnist the npc knights, the battle sequence would be: kozma -> brinks -> bosco (and his knight) -> bechamel. (end of bazaar part), then we would fight agnist a few common knights and then the guy from the advanced training arena. next would be the town square: the guy with the two FF's and then kora. After that it would be the final enemy: Feron, but a really corrupted version of him (darker armor, wih those shiny swarm details and a shadow aura). But for our assistance, before entering the corrupted haven, you can pick a knight (NPC) to fight alongside you (or simply go with your team). Each knight has a fighting style and his/her advantages/disvanatges. for example: the guy with the two FFs would do large amounts of damage and would be really fast, on the downside he wouldn't be very resistant, or special abilites, for example: bosco has his knight, and he could upgrade the mecha-knights that you activate or spawn with items. all the npc knights would be defeateable and you would have to revive them if they die.
@simohaya, i played the 3ds version of LoZ ocarina of time, and the fight agnist the dark link was the most memorable one for me, (togheter with the fight agnist ganon) it basically made up for all the water temple's problems.

Well my main concern is that we add a Shufflebot Prototype monster.
This idea is mainly shedding light on the shufflebot, Konway, A New Haven with different looks as the old one (new is better), and a change in the story instead of the same old "yay, gj there spiralicus knighticuses, we won".
And I am itching to see Vatel's FFs in action.
My idea for how we first get hinted that Feron is a traitor: The Echo Stone from shadow lair Operation Crimson Hammer?

I don't care if this breaks the game because haven becomes the next Almire or something, it sounds fun. Heck, why not just let this haven burn and become the next Almire, then make a newer, better one like the OP implied? We can integrate this idea with a bunch of the other great ones that have been posted here on the suggestions forum.
After the current haven is destroyed, we can finally get a real Spiral City, as some people have been hoping for. This idea has come up quite a few times, so maybe it's time for an overhaul? If you don't feel like reading all the threads, this would include physical locations for things like improved guild halls, Krogmo's Coliseum (with new PvP modes!), and even a Spiral HQ for starting missions.
Now for some shameless self-advertising...
Speaking of Krogmo's Coliseum as it relates to this thread, maybe part of the retaking of haven could include going through some of the LD levels. There, knights could take up LD equipment and fight enemies with it, as outlined in my Class Missions thread.
EDIT: Kind of irrelevant, but Vaelyn wields a FF in her (his?) right hand, and a Grand Flourish in the left. I would also like to see her (him?) actually fight, though.

Oooo, nice idea Schattentag.
Maybe if Krogmo himself even helps us? I dunno what he would do though. Would be nice to see him in action.

Krogmo would probably just be entertained by the fact that us Spiral Knights are actually fighting amongst ourselves outside of his PvP environments. I don't know how exactly he would help, though. Maybe sic some monsters on Feron?

Shadow Lair version of the retaking of Haven (Don't know the name yet, if anyone has any good ideas on the name of the mission):
Frozen over instead of burning :3 then tweaked to be harder and whatnot. Add some Darkfang Scorcher like gremlin that instead freezes stuff.

Make this a month long event, never to happen again, (Except perhaps as a Holo mission for later generations) with the Knight hold out to the right of the town square, past the alchemy machine. That's where we will hold out for that month.
Perhaps 20 some odd retrieval and hunting missions, with haven slowly degenerating over time, in each successive mission.
Monami would help, not hinder, making a safe zone before a boss of sorts. (See below) The stairs would be blocked (Thus the ATH mission.) and in this one, the wall down to Monami would break and make a sort of staircase.
The Boss of the Town square should be something awesome, and unexpected... like a Hydra out of the fountain. >:3 you have to dodge water blasts falling from the sky, and from its many mouths. The only way to make it vulnerable is to throw bells from a spilled case meant for snarby. Weak to peircing, deals normal and shadow damage.
After all the carnage, the hold out will be rebuilt into the new haven, and the old haven will be over run with monsters... making a practice area so filled with mist energy, that revs dont cost anything... like in ATH... The arcade will still be in use, just the main door will now be the unused one faaaar on the right.
Also... perhaps make the HoH guy.. the knightmare head one, be the bad guy... corrupted by devilits or made a pact or w/e :3
Any who... This would be a great way to add a more recent history, and some great gameplay. Though, If OOO wants to do this, i can only imagine all the hours of work it would take... (Poor Ian~!)
~Tsu

If you look around in the Spiral Knights installation files, you'll actually find a character model called gatekeeper-fallen or something. As far as I can tell, this could be something like what you mentioned - the HoH guy being corrupted and ending up like a Knightmare.

I WANNA SEE HAVEN BUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRNN

bumper sticker. LET'S MAKE THIS HAPPEN! xD

I am the original haven destroyer, however.
MY GOD, THIS IS AMAZING. THREE RINGS, HIRE THIS MAN/WOMAN/CHILD/THING NOW
