Seems to be a widespread problem. Upon trying to host a game, the screen doesn't ever make it to loading. Just a black screen, nothing ever happens.
I see people in zone chat talking about this, too.
Anyone else?

Ragingstorm and myself were just talking about how we get a black screen when trying to host/join a party for a mission, prestige and I just tried arcade. Nothing is working, please fix problem soon for all players SK Staff :)

Confirmed. Same problem here. No matter what mission I try to join or host, the screen fades to black and just hangs. I've tried several ways at least ten times now in the past 15 minutes. No luck.

You have black screen because you don't have shadow defense. The shadows overwelmed you as soon as you went below the surface :)) Or maybe just the minds of those who did the latest patch [again]. They never learn. But don't worry, pay for crogmo and energy boosters, in 2 days or so when everything expires the problem will be fixed and they will extend only the elevator pass. What? You have trinket slots upgrades that expires too? So what? Buy more :) Next time pay 9,95$ to work for free in the test servers and you will be the first to experience the bugs before being released to everyone :)))
For now, enjoy the darkness like the everyone else does.

So true with this problem they might extend and lower the cost for elevators to 5 mist/energy for whoever long it take for them to fix this problem. I know all mist users will be thankful for that.

im having the same
im haviong the same problem, i trying to reinstal the game now, but even that is having problems. it wont instal correctly. it just freezes and nothing happens. i dont get this. it must be a bug from the new monsters created, so hard to kill the legion of almire.

Same here i just logged on to do some late night mission before i go to bed, but for some reason when i try to join a room or even to create one i always get's blackscreen after i click start. I hope they fix this by tmr just sold most of my CE for TF2 Keys, Need to get some crowns like asap to get bak all my CE. So plz fix this ASAP ....

Apparently alot of people are having the same problem im having. I thought i was the only one.
Asked my friends to go do missions and see if they got the screen and they didn't.
So why are we having this? If its because of the new prestige mission just remove it, and make everything go back to the way it was.
Please Fix This In The Next Couple Days If Possible.

Prestige levels have rolled
Prestige levels have rolled over to next day now....
and STILL i get blackscreen when trying t o join Almire Legeon...
SO..thats 180 prestige points....lost...
and.. another 180 prestige points possibly also not going to be obtainable...as...there update doesnt work...
..and the whole above mentioned Radiant Shard thing...
Jeezzz this is a good way to keep customers happy...........and no reply from 1 admin so far

Same, on EU.
I get the very same issue. If it's of relevance, I play on the EU servers. Something is broken, that's for sure.

I tried on US. Same thing. Really seems as if nothing works. All missions, both servers.
In other news, by all means, restart the servers. The client is obviously not broken as it worked for me yesterday evening. The game files have not been modified since so either something else, related to my PC, is the reason or the servers are broken. I'm guessing the servers. I fear my Mist Energy has capped already and I can't do much about it.

logged on and tried to join via party finder for a prestige mission and no goes just black screen of doom. and everything was working earlier. also it is affecting loggin on steam taking too long to get in.

something is wrong
i tried to re-install, but i keep getting resolving download. the download starts at 70% too, is this suppose to be normal when u re-install or is there some corrupted files still on my pc.
also while the download is installing, it freezes at 79 - 81 %. i don't know how am i suppose to install it properly and this is my 7th time trying to install it. sigh

Yeah.
I've had trouble with a lot of the patches. It seems SK just really hates my computer. I had to do a total re-install after the "party finder" patch and just recently have been able to do missions without insufferable lag.
I'm glad to have a developing team that provides a free game with frequent updates and support. It just kind of sucks that said game, for me, has been reduced to a glorified chat-room at times. I have an elevator pass the expires on the 11th and more than 5 of those day's thus far have been reduced to me trying to figure out how to fix it, which availed in little or no improvement.
Please fix this soon. I'd hate my buy/donation to be for naught.

This seems to be a widespread problem. All most every one I've talked to, including myself, has been experiencing this problem. Hopefully Three Rings will resolve the problem later today, and we will all get a nice elevator discount. Nothing to create a huge fuss about. I'm sure people could use a break from Spiral Knights for a little while.

Don't give me the "you could use a break from Sk" lemon routine. It's kinda unnerving not getting two nights of sleep because of work, and when I finally finish everything and am ready for a little SK spelunking I get the black screen of emptyness after joyfully discovering LoA has been released.
3Rings, just bloody talk to us. We've told you our problems, now it's your turn to tell us what the fudge is wrong with SK, and when can we expect things to return to "normal".
