It absolutely baffles, dumfounds, gobsmacks, shocks, disgusts, shames, enrages, mind-blows, perplexes and exhausts me that people are given some free goodies, for free, at no charge, for free, for doing absolutely nothing, at no expense to them and their first reaction is to ask for more or complain.

Now, I get requesting a bomb/gun, because it appears as if they're, yet again, favouring swordies over the other classes that are supposed to be equally balanced, but also understand that it's just a costume reward. I don't like that there's no bomb, but I can get over it.
But the people who're whining that they want them upgradable, want better versions, want more, want this, want that, want the next thing...
How about we employ a new idea; if it takes off I'll send a suggestions thread or ticket to Nick.

Sound fair? Why the hell should you deserve free items that you did nothing to deserve or earn, if the only thing you think about is getting more, or wanting to change them or get better versions?
Honestly I'm surprised people haven't already started asking for reskins of FF or Polaris at this rate. It's a costume sword you'll likely never use after a week of novelty has worn off, even if you did get the 5* one. How about you just shut the hell up and appreciate the free stuff.

A simple "thank-you" would be much more respected than "/whine/cry/moan".

And if you aren't Vanguard and didn't get the 5* versions...get over it, honestly. The whole point was to give you it based on how far you'd come in the game already as a token, fashion gesture, not as your primary weapon. It's a Calibur; you'll likely never use it again anyways! It's just to look back on and go "oh, I remember getting that when GHs came out /yay". If you could just sit and upgrade it away it'd defeat the whole point of basing it on your class.

Or, they could have just given it out based on prestige. How's that suit you?

I get what you're saying, but these are totally useless items that will simply sit in my inventory so while I have no basis to complain, I feel no gratitude at all either. It's pretty much the same as being given nothing.

I have to agree with Senshi.

I really have no use for them.

It's a good gesture, but meh, Especically If I had a similar weapon at the same star, and I I could upgrade that and leave the other to collect dust.

I would prefer if as soon as you gain a rank up, the stuff upgrades, but I can live with this.

Though you have to remember, it's the newbies who complain. I have a guy I know who was dissapointed due to him needing to get 2* gear, because he restarted playing due to him playing with one star nearly two years back.

Then there's no loss, no need to complain or ask for more. Even if it does just sit in your inventory, it's not taking up any slots or otherwise costing you anything. They could have given out an armour costume instead, then everyone could use it!....except the people who don't like it. They lose out 100%. This way, at least, you can use it practically, as a weapon, if you choose.

Fact is that it's still 100% profit, 100% free stuff. You don't need to be grateful if you feel it did you no good, but I'm ragin' at the people who get it and immediately want more.

Good word choice! That's exactly what it is! A gesture, a gift, not a free path up to 5* OP weapon, just a gesture. I mean, they never needed to do this; they could have just released GH and no one would have been the wiser, they woudln't have to deal w/ people whining for more free stuff. But they chose to give out some extra goodies, thinking people might appreciate it. Shows what they know.

i dont complain. being a levi user since i started to play this game (oh those times where i dominated every arena on every tier with my trusty calibur and freezing vaporizer), and having a good resking for my leviathan i feel like " OMG THANKS SO MUCH OOO!" i saw those swords and shield on "someone blog" and when i look at them i was "Oh please OOO give us them as sword and shield i dont care if theyre just skin , they just look awesome" and saw the trophy i was "aww... well at least i can have a little hope" and saw this?? oh im really greateful with them.

i think it just matter of people opinion anyway if it useless or useful. for me really its my leviathan with a new skin and you know? its ok for me! the sword looks so awesome! and more grateful they give us the sword based on our rank instead the prestige that would be made a lot of complain threads i guess...

<-< im jealous of people who have the 3 stars shield... thats looks like an hylian shield T_T... oh well :P

They played the game (and maybe bought CE) bro, that's what they did to deserve it.
If you played it a lot, you deserve better gear, if not then you get [scrappier] ones.
But the concept of not being able to upgrade your not so stellar gear once you reach a certain point is just dumb.
edit: Regarding "a straight path to an OP weapon"
they could simply limit you to only being able to upgrade your gear once you reach the next rank.

Heck, they didn't need to do it. Having the guild halls released is good enough.

Hence why it's gesture of good will. To show trust.

Ik Levi isn't OP; my point was that the gift wasn't meant to be "Hey, here, have a great, OP 5* weapon that you'll use forever" like people want it to be. It's just "here, have a cool reskin of a weapon we know you won't use much anyways, becasue it's a reskin, because we're cool like that." All these peoples itting demanding upgradable versions and such are forgetting that even if they could 5* it, they'd never use it again in a week anyways because it's a Levi Blade that no one uses!

If you only had one more mission to go before Vanguard...you still get a free 4* sword! Tada! Brill-o, innit?

Lemme put it this way:

If they weren't giving the free stuff out, then what? You're one mission away from Vanguard and...? Do you demand a 5* weapon? No, you man up and go craft your own. No one expects anything until they're given something to expect more from. It doesn't matter where you are in the game, you wouldn't just expect a free weapon. But you were given one, as a token reskin gift for the event. And are childish enough to ask for more, or a better version.

Dedicate your time? Is this a work project to you? Do you not play SK, do you sit and dedicate time and effort to it? I don't see you hanging around in Wiki/Suggestions boards, or even Arsenal/NR helping people. What exactly do you "dedicate" yourself to, to improve the game and deserve a free gift?
Because just playing a game isn't exactly something that merits free stuff. You play for fun, because you want to play. If you want to pay, it's for the dual purpose of supporting the game and getting the items they trade (CE, in this case)...but then, that's you getting what you paid for; the CE.

So why exactly do you expect something more? They GH update is the "update/free stuff" for long-term players who want more content. The free gear is a further, un-needed, bonus gift that you have done absolutely nothing to deserve. Nothing. Especially if you, as a player, happened to sign up and start SK, iunno...an hour ago?

Seerusly, I'm happy enough with the guild updates - the complementary sword and shield were a gesture beyond what i was expecting and I appreciate it. I guess some people need to put it in perspective: it's not every day that people give you free swords and such out of the blue.

What would meeting in game do? What does your steam hours show? It holds...absolutely no relevance to anything that's been said here :s....

So far, you've done nothing to change my mind that the people whining for their free stuff to be better are just being greedy and selfish.

I mean, I got a 5* reskinned Levi Blade for absolutely nothing....but I use other swords! Why can't I have a Reskinned Glacius instead, because a reskinned Levi will just sit uselessly in my inventory forever while I use my real weapons!

anyway i dont know why just give some importance to those complainers. i mean if i started to play today and got my 2 stars shield and calibur of course i would be upset because i wouldnt be able to upgrade it to 5 stars. but i would just move on because i know i cant have everything in this world anyway. it just a reskinn i never got a scissor blades and it just a reskinn from an existing sword and i love the design of that sword too.

but im not complaining like those guys. just some people need to learn to move on and be less serious for something that its a simple game to spent the time anyway.

After OOO introduced new eyes, heights and accessories for new knight creation, that thread was started as a petition urging OOO to allow existing knights to redo the creation process and early missions.

Accessories, eyes and height you can at least buy; early missions you can do by creating a new knight.

But the Honor items? There's currently no way for anyone to get another version... it's not just non-Vanguards wanting Lionheart... there can also be Vanguard collectors who'd love to collect all earlier versions.

To Darkbrady's credit, he never posted in that thread (I searched all pages). But others did, and their opinions back then contradicts what's in this thread.

A little criticism won't kill. Criticism highlights what's not perfect (to someone), so those issues can be known, discussed and improved. OOO isn't a bunch of babies who'd cry when their forums are filled up with criticisms. In fact that's part of the reason the forum exists.

If you want to support OOO, just keep playing the game. Open your wallets once in a while. OOO will know that you do. No need for protectionism, no need to act defensive on OOO's behalf.

This isn't as much as defending or protecting OOOs feelings as it is just being annoyed; they're a big grown up company and can handle a bit of raging/complaining. I'm just ranting because I think people really should just be happy with free stuff when they get it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth and all. If we had to do something or pay or complete a task or something to earn these, then I'd be more easy-going on it and forgive people for wanting a bit more control, but the fact is that we get them for absolutely nothing and within an hour we had people asking for more.

Whether this was for or against OOOs integrity, this kind of attitude would annoy me enough to incite me to post a ragethread shouting at folk~

Don't get me wrong, I've seen some people and requests that didn't bother me. They mainly come down to the attitude people post with (i.e "ty for teh free stuff, would be nice if we could upgrade" rather than "omg it's only 4* it's useless, screw you OOO") that's getting me. I felt bad for (Psycho, iirc?) who would have had the Vanguard mission finished already, but left it a day to finish the "visit the HoH" mission the next day, for something to look forward to, and got lumped w/ the 4* sword. I get that situations like that exist and sympathise, but it's the attitude some people are taking that's getting to me.

Some people just need to learn some gratitude or humility, is all.

I'm not going to get involved in the actual discussion at hand because I think people on both sides of the debate have more or less summarized the important points. That being said though;

Brady, whilst I realize this thread was probably made with the best of intentions, it's honestly just as obnoxious as the whining. On a fundamental level you've made a post purely for the purpose of insulting people -although in a very articulate, mild-mannered way, and for a reason more justified than most- that doesn't really contribute to any discussion and honestly isn't any better than the whining. Do you think you're going to convince anyone of anything? It wouldn't necessarily of been anymore productive, but a thank you thread aimed at Three Rings for the gesture would've still gotten a similar message across without being inflammatory and not getting you as a riled up.

As for you Razmetrez, although you'll probably be banned before you get to edit your posts (At least assuming you have the common sense to at some stage realize you just broke a dozen forum rules), I took the liberty of taking some screenshots just in-case. I don't claim to know the severity of the punishment you'll get for these posts, but if it isn't a perma-ban then hopefully you take your time away as a chance to think about how you can get involved in debates without being condescending and insulting.

Nah, that wasn't me, I'm on 8-2. I've been missing a 5* armour for months, waiting on a specific piece.

Although I do totally appreciate the Honour blade. I love it, it looks AWESOME. Pity is, I have a Levi which you know is pretty much the upgraded version due to the stats being the same as the Calibur line, so I can't be both practical and awesome looking at the same time.

If I hadn't gotten my Levi yet, I'd be less upset and more patient in waiting for a way to upgrade it, because it's more practical and-you know what I mean.

Now I jelly of the better half of my friends with it, Lionheart looks just so cool.

In fact, I was so psyched about the aweomeness of them I told all my SKing friends who weren't online while squealing in text to hurry up and logon so they could both look at the awesomeness of GHs and the Honour gear.

We then made jelly faces at the only one of us who got the 5* version after squealing at the Blades like kids at Christmas.

But Honor shield/sword are not available anywhere else. So people are asking for them to be upgradable/craftable/in featured auctions. What's so wrong with those requests? They are just asking to be able to do the same as you did.

i never said they cant :P. i only said ignore the complainers. in fact i would be happy having the 3 star shield rather than my 5 star shield. that little shield looks like the hylian shield aww my gawwwd *-* (sorry im still jealous of people that have it >,<). its bit annoying like back the day we posted on that petition and really people dont see what they have.

having a way to them upgrading their stuff from 2 to 5 stars i dont mind. i would upgrade some of my alts shield just for the fun to run around and shouting "im link yaaay". also friends wanted the 5 star stuff, but theyre not whinning about it. even a friend mine says "well a 4 star sword its useful too" and he isnt vanguard (but its 5 stars).

so rather than complain they should just wait a way of OOO implement some form of upgrade their stuff. that if OOO want to do it after how ungrateful people was. anyways i dont saw people complaining about the new armors and helm that some knights got creating their new knight (and honestly i want a "dusky color" and "regal fancy" flak jacket) but OOO will implement it in a future. prolly because the complain thread you bring up?. instead complain they should just wait for the event to end and see what OOO will do for people that dont have 5 stars stuff. if OOO dont say anything for it. then they can complain if they like.

If they don't voice out, OOO may assume there's no demand and never implement it.

You can think of them as ungrateful, or you can take a careful look and find OOO being unfair. Examples are plenty.
- Kongregate users still have no access to forum and wiki AFAIK. Took OOO a pretty long time to solve it for Steam players.
- OCH not purchasable by CE.
- Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau got sold off to GameCyber, new accounts can no longer be created from those three regions, and existing accounts will never see an improvement in latency, no account transfer provided.
- Shard bomb compensation got massively exploited, OOO could've done something (while everyone was asking in forum "is that for real") but they didn't.
- Server went down, elevator cost discount was applied for a short period after the server went back up, instead of being applied to the same time slot when the server was not available.

OOO could've prevented/solved many of those but they didn't. So if people don't voice out they want the upgraded versions OOO may just leave it at that. Frankly OOO may still leave it at that all the same.

I think that kind of got knocked aside by the Dark Harvest event. People at least got the orange version of the new helm/armor models.

i dont agree on the RSS update neither on OCH being tradeable only with steam (i feel bad for friends telling them they only will get it for free being steam user). but at least they voice up in a right way rather than people who precisely darkbrady post reefers. and i know was a really bad move how they were "playing the cards" on the old RSS thread. but hey they elaborate in a good way to voice out their complain.

i know they are upset and i would if i were new. but at least they can give a try wait to see what happen later? I would have raged at you, but...

I read the whole thread and saw the reason isn't us asking for the upgrades-it's HOW we ask. Yeah, I agree. But for those who don't think it should be upgradable... why? We're still earning the gear-even paying more than you did-by crafting it. You'll have got a free cool-looking Levi, Timmy over there gets a free cool-looking Calibur... but without upgrades he'll never use it again. If you let him upgrade it, sure "wah, we were vanguards first!" but think of it from our point of view. You're showing off those awesome 5* swords, and we really want them... with everything short of Groundbreaker, there's a way to get it. Not Honor Blades. We're stuck with what we have (or don't) and have to make do.

You say "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". You can upgrade everything else, why not these? The gift horse OOO has given the rest of us has a terminal illness and will die. (us getting better gear)

It is very hard to make people confident about something totally. Many humans born with a endless hunger, which keep wanting more and more. Also, love these new items(Even I have both Aegis and Levi), because these items are some really good rewards for those who have played this game for a long time and played hard, and also looks supercool!

I haven't attempted, but can the free shield/sword be vendored? That's an easy 60k.

So if you complain about its pointlessness, just vendor....unless its 1 crown per item like a costume is.

Nope.

The thing is, is that the 4star version of the sword is completely useless. I have about 5 different sets of 5star things and yet I still get a 4star sword, the only reason I didn't do the mission is because then I get begged for money less (and maybe doing the mission takes effort). I'm not complaining but it would be a good idea to make them upgradable, even if its just in a 5day period so that people who havn't done the last mission for a reason actually get a chance to do this.

What convinces you that the 5* version is any better? I mean, from the standpoint of it being a 5* sword, sure, but let's not forget that it's only a Levi that 75% of the population doesn't even bother crafting. You have 5 different sets of 5* gear; why would you choose a Levi over that? Even if you could upgrade it right now, the odds are that it'd do exactly the same as the 4* version: sit in your inventory, never get used and only rarely make an appearance as a fashion statement in your 4 slot loadouts.

Now, the Levi does have its uses; I hear it works great as a Bomber sidearm, plus some of us use Levi 'cause we're hipsters like that.

Adding an Honor Alchemy Machine (HAM, lol) is fairly simple; add an NPC explaining what the machine does and how the Honor Blades were obtained. It doesn't need to make the lowest-level Honor Blade from nothing, since that would get rid of the exclusive nature of the weapon; it can simply allow one to make their own Honor Blade higher-leveled. Same goes for the shields. Perhaps there could also be a way to downgrade Honor Blades (someone said he'd like the 3* 'cause it looks like the Hylian Shield). There. YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SUGGESTION'D.

No reason to get all mad and scream at people over it, though; at the end of the day, it's merely a particularly shiny Calibur line sword. Flaming does not help your argument. It sets it on fire and then you have to give it a Remedy pill or waste health reviving it, when you could have just worked with it and won. No need for flaming, on either side. Don't make me break out that Shiver.
