If you wanted updates and changes to the game to be a "big" surprise then why would you make a testing feedback sub forum for everyone to read the new updates?

Not only that you also created this thread http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83404 which tells players "The testing server is open!"

In this thread > http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83491
Aphrodite says "Nick posted an announcement in General Discussion to let people know about a testing opportunity."
The thread was unneeded since everyone already received the mail saying the test server is open.

Also to appeal to redblades ban http://imgur.com/DBSIMiY
It says "we are only looking for constructive feed back only" which he did http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83417 which was locked and graveyarded.

Finally Cronus says "All discussion and feedback about features currently on the preview server should be kept in the Testing Feedback forum" there has been plenty of discussion about the new features that has been locked and graveyarded. But how can they discuss if they're f2p and can't post on the testing feedback sub forum?

Q:Redblades: "So, to speak, we must also give money to OOO?"
A: The Testing Feedback section of the forums is for players who have been on the preview server to provide feedback on their experiences.

P.S (I'm ready to get banned)
Followed by a upcoming message to be added by a gm: "Edit: Please keep discussion about the Battle Sprite Testing in the appropriate feedback thread. Thank you!"

That wonderful Smile is gone for Eternity

This is quite cruel, when you think about it: several threads get locked and Graveyarded and anyone who wants to discuss the Sprites must pay monies.

I only have one question: Why? Are we some filthy peasants that should be ignored and silenced if we do not cough up monies?

EDIT: I feel that my quote/title is very appropriate for a topic like this.

Meh. Far as I'm concerned, everyone's a freaking peasant.

Oh, and 'fore I forget, I guess we aren't the only people who believe this. Poor guy got a temp ban for spamming, even though he did give what the GM's were looking for.

EDIT: took a look at the other two links. Ah, well.

I still think it's pretty funny of them to say: "hey, we are going to implement x, y and z, here is an explanation about them" and after that expect people not to talk about it... It's ok that the Testing Feedback is testers-only since it helps them gather feedback, but not even allowing the rest of the community to discuss about information made public by the goddamn devs on a link posted in general by them is pretty messed up.

I think you might need to

I think you might need to reexamine the definition of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, I saw none in the OP you linked us to. What I did see was a bunch of sarcastic, cynical blurbs, and no one likes responding to that.

It's because people throw

It's because people throw huge tantrums about the changes on the test server, when they haven't even played them themselves. The testing feedback forum is full of IMBECILES who misunderstand the test server patch notes, don't actually have access to the server, and go off on their own self-spawned stupid ideas and make big crybaby threads everywhere.

Notable moronic ones include "ermagerd, crafting doesn't require energy anymore" and "ermagerd we need to spend energy every time we want to revive".

If you want to talk about the sprite abilities, but don't have access to the preview server, go here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83111
If you have access to the preview server and wish to discuss the Battle Sprites, go here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83480
If you have access to the preview server and wish to discuss stuff not related to Battle Sprites, go here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/83481

If you don't have access to the preview server, but want to talk about the mechanics, DON'T. Chances are you won't have an effing clue what you're on about.
There are already enough people on the test server giving feedback. The developers don't need every Tom, Dick and Larry giving their opinion otherwise it'll consume too much of their time to sort though the feedback.

Dang it my friend.

You would find a way to get me to defend OOO after I said I'm not doing it anymore and before I go Red. Okay, being positive here as OOO wants, positively sarcastic. I love buying items in a game with real cash just to have them removed or nerfed. That's kind of like going to Macy's for a pair of black shoes to match a sweater then having a corporate executive paint them red but never giving me a good reason why or maybe that executive might decide to take that sweater back with no explanation or refund of the purchase price. I love buying game money/energy with real cash only to find out that every vendor soon will be hanging the sign saying, "no game cash/energy accepted here. In Cartman's voice, "The Simpon's did it." That's special. OOO is turning us into Homer. But most of all, I love my friends saying they just won't be playing here anymore because it just hurts too much. They just can't stand being disrespected as customers anymore or that this game is not the game it used to be. I dunno. Maybe if OOO is trying to make another game, they should make another game. If they continue to use this game to make that other game, I won't see OOO as a reliable business worth investing any money into anywhere. If they can do it here to there customers, they can do it on Whirled, Doctor Who, anywhere. They've done it before too. I started Puzzle Pirates the first day it went public. I have two Puzzle Pirates icons on my desktop. The original game they went public with and sold to us and one they later decided to change it to.

The Defense
Games use a SMALL group to TEST things. Usually this group tends to be limited to those who pay to play. First, far less pay to play than freeload. It gives a nice cut from all to small. Second, those who pay to play like the game, play it often and hard. They tend to be the one's who care about the game the most and know it best. They tend to not think of self when giving feedback but what is in the best interest in the overall health of the game. They won't say they want something to advance self and crush others because they know they need the others to play the game.

@OOO
I have been on your games since day 1. You are about to push me away onto other games sites leaving me with nothing good to say about you as a business.

You cant just "pay" OOO to

You cant just "pay" OOO to get access to test server. You also need to play on very specific site, either on official site or using steam.

Because of that, all players who play on diffrent sites, for example Kongregate, no matter how much money they spent, cant access test server.
Kongregate players are being left alone, its been months since there was any info topic made on kongregate forum by SK representative, kongregate players dont have access to forum with their accounts, they cant use support portal, they cant take part in testing new features.

And since very long time OOO dont really do anything to improve it. http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/33259#comment-241776

Its like they do it on purpose, if they would let kongregate players use test servers, a lot more players would be "ALLOWED" since it seems you need to be "ALLOWED" now to have opinion about upcoming changes, to post their opinions and it would be harder for OOO to push through changes that are against players.

Cool

Seems I am now Redblades too. o:

And, if OOO was more transparent and told us how much will it cost to have Orbs and Sparks in a definite manner and their effects on Alchemy costs, maybe we could keep coldheaded. Though then there is the mission equip limit, the loot issue, the no more than 1 per person per level revives anymore without the item, the "can't put this off my inventory this vial anymore", the visual effects when damaged and low life...

Even if those items costed us 10 energy, is energy we got to spend first, even if people decided not to play that day and get 10 sparks. Though, hmmm, are those things bound? Cause if not, alts got a new purpose. I suppose they are though, wouldn't make sense to trade with those, haha.

@Aumir

None of the new items are bound, with the obvious exception of the sprites themselves, and the harnesses (which are sprite-bound, they aren't actually "equipment)

Even if the total cost of the Orbs make current crafting costs more "expensive", the system will still be cheaper since 3 times as much of the craft's energy can be purchased with mist instead of crystal energy.
Example: 3 star equipment usually takes 200 energy. That's 100 mist and 100 CE. Say the update changes it to 80 energy per orb. That's 240 energy total.
If you want to craft the item on day one, you'll need to spend 100 mist and 140 CE.
If you want to craft the item on day two, after playing on day one, you'll need to spend 180 mist and 60CE, but you'll have 20 energy left over on the first day
If you want to craft the item on day two, you'll need to spend 200 mist and 40 CE, and you can craft the item 18 hours after you purchased the orbs the previous day
If you want to craft the item on day three, you'll need to spend 240 mist. On all three days you'll have 20 mist left over to do a short run

Pretty much each way (except for the first, rushed method) it's a bonus. You shouldn't need to "see" the prices of the orbs before making your mind up on whether you like it or not, because the system is genius and will help "casual" players everywhere, craft items and play at the same time.

Mess up with the RSS, they

Mess up with the RSS, they did.
Mess up with the whole game mechanism, they are trying to do soon.
Its seems the dev are selectively blind, or they just bury their heads whenever they meet severe criticism from players.

._.

FYI, there are tons of noob players who don't know about CE and hit a wall of derp when it comes time to requiring ce. This basically holds their hand for them.
