I don't know if this has been suggested already, but I think it would be a really nice addition to the game to have day/night cycles in haven. Yes, I realize it would have to follow server time which may be different for a lot of players, but it would add something extra to being in haven.

Heck, it's one am my time and it's still bright and sunny in Haven. Thoughts?

One rotation of cradle's surface takes the same amount of time as its orbit around the system's star.

night is every day form 1 PM GMT to 5-10 mins later, when servers are back up. yeah, cradle is a strange planet.
anyway, this would go with a timing issue. what time do english instances follow? UK or USA?

Why should cradle have a

Why should cradle have a similar rotation time to ours? Why not give it a 34 hour and 34 minute day. We might as well make it silly.

Yea, good idea, but it already was suggested also with weather in Haven.
It is possible to adjust to everyone invidual. Yet we can use PC-time to adjust graphical changes, isn't it?

Cradle lacks rotation, thus it does not produce a magnetic field around the planet to protect creatures against the harmful UV rays. Maybe that's why we wear so much clothing on the surface, and all other animals and creatures go feral and hide underground.

I disagree.
Additionally, the heavy pigmentation in the Knights' skin allows them to survive deadly amounts of UV rays.

.

Maybe it doesn't change because it's possible that Cradle doesn't orbit like Earth.

It'd have to orbit somehow, if there was no system star (which there most likely is, Cradle's light doesn't seem artificually generated, although I don't know that for sure) then there would be no light. But if there was a system star but no orbit, Cradle would be pulled towards the star and then be disintegrated.

I've suggested an idea with the same content of this.

Back on topic. When you first reach rescue camp, it'll be evening, but after powering up the rescue camp, it'll be night time. It should be the same thing to Haven though.

What if Cradle is tilted and has an horizontal rotation in front of it's sun, and Haven happens to be near one of it's poles?

Ironically, Uranus does that in our solar system. A logical explaination for permanent sunlight.

Edit: forget about that and just look this http://imgur.com/82tSVqy

My theory on the rotation of cradle matching the orbit around the sun could still be true since rescue camp and haven are on two separate "plates" therefore may rotate at different speeds.

EDIT: Nevermind, these "plates" are large tectonic sections of soil which appear to be matched together and secured in place.
