Serah couldn't see it, but Nevo smiled two. That was the first time he'd smiled, in a long, long time. "My names Nevo. Again, sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Er... yeah. I'm glad I got that off my chest. I hate ignoring people."
Game of Death (roleplay story thread)
The sudden choice was unexpected. I wasn't exactly sure which one to choose, if I stayed and fought, I might be forced into too many unneeded confrontations. On the other hand, standing idle would probably result in icebreakers(not the armour :P) and regret... Tilting me head down, My eyes rested upon the hilts of my newly reacquired weaponry, glinting menacingly. Seris was clearly insane for creating those wretched 'games', but I did owe these Recons for 'rescuing' me from them, which made me obliged to return the favour in their time of need. Taking a glance at the other Knights, I walk up to the Recons, my hands resting on the hilt of my Combuster and Glacius.
"I hate ignoring people." Okay, that was pretty funny. Serah tried (and failed) to stifle a laugh, and ended up snorting loudly through her nose. She reddened furiously when Desna turned around and looked at her, and was grateful that it wasn't mentioned. She punched Nevo in the shoulder, whispering, "Don't do that!" But her wide smile said otherwise.
(OOC: Edit: first tally collected!
Recon Rangers: Nitscu; total 1 (+5 rangers)
Darkwatch: n/a; total 0 (+1 member)
)
Nevo laughed. Maybe a little too loud, as Desna gave him a sharp look. "Wow-how. Your boss's pretty up-tight about these things." Nevo said, rubbing his shoulder. Serah could throw a punch, probably harder than he had expected. " Just so you know, I'm going with you." Nevo realized something. "N-not like I'm there 'cause I like you. My sword arm's getting pretty tired."
That was the worst save you have ever done and you should feel bad. I mean, seriously, Nevo. "Your sword arm's getting tired?" Really?!
Nevo dismissed the thought, still rubbing his arm.
"Yeah, Des can be pretty...well, cold sometimes. Coming with us for me would be just...y'know, ridiculous. I mean, I'm nobody; why would anyone wanna go out with me?" Ugh, girl! You gotta stop demeaning yourself! What if he believes that garbage? She stared at her feet as they marched. She couldn't think of anything to say that didn't sound stupid.
His name. She forgot to ask his name! "What's your name, by the way? Or...did you just tell me? I'm- I'm Serah, if I didn't tell you already." Which you did, genius. She wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Vog-dangit! Why do I have to make this so awkward!?
"You asked me just before, but that's ok. My names Nevo. Also, one more thing." Nevo paused. "You're not some nobody. I-I mean, you got into the rangers, right? That's gotta could for something, right?" Nevo said, nudging her in the shoulder.
Daud kept watching the little show going on between the male and Female Knight. just kiss already. Was all he could think before a blip appeared on his simple HUD. "Seems a friend has arrived." Before Deadman could turn around a human figure standing in Full level three Skely Gear (Scary Skelly) greeted them with a nod. The person was holding a Nightblade as well as what looked like a normal firearm. On his back was a custom made Stealth unit, stock made for all units of the Watch. On his chest was the Crest of the Guild he hailed from. On his back was a good sized chunch of Dark Matter for what, he would not say nor could say.
Standing and Saluting the man looked at Desua as well as Deadman. "My lady, we have set ourselfs up as requested. We will be the Security you wanted. Their are a total of ten of us scouting, My Lady Desua you probably knew this. We are sorry for being so sneeky about our actions around you, but that is the way we are trained."
The Operator landed just outside the base of the Recon Rangers, his forces there. He raised a loudhailer to his lips, "Come out, surrender, and get another chance. Desna, come out here and greet your friend." Not waiting for a reply, he willed his forces to concentrate fire on the door, making it explode.
The operator then threw down all his weapons, commanded his forces to hold fire, and walked in..... and bumped straight into Desna. "Why, hello, old friend! Nice friends you got there." I jerked my head to the escapees. "Well.... my forces are outside, waiting to kill anyone who goes out. Shall we have a chat?"
I notice a whole bunch of gremlins and wardens running through the city to the heavily secure base. I look carefully at the army and there were 12 snipers I think but no Ghostmane Stalkers. I also see tons of Wardens and a person holding a Blitz needle and I thought "He must be the leader". I watch them stop in front of the base and see the leader go inside the base. I decided to try a new attack by using 8 plasma bolts and tossed a swarm seed in the middle (I took 3 with me before I left the unknown passage). I started to lose balance because of the power wasn't equal, 3 orbs filled up to max power and I regained my balance. The other orbs filled up to max power and I tossed it into the middle of the army. As it was just about to touch the ground, the orbs closed into each other giving the swarm seed even more power and hurting all the enemies by a shockwave which was dark from the swarm seed. The seed landed on the ground and started to spread like wildfire, slowly corrupting the Darkfang Thwackers. I got spotted and run away from the wardens and snipers even though 1 of the snipers managed to hit me.
((OOC: CLEARLY NO-ONE CARES ABOUT MY HELP AND DISASTER I DID!))
Deadman looked around as he watched the person walk into the room. The Unit behind him Cloaked and stood behind Deadman with his blade drawn, some with the other units who were around the room. However Daud remained calm and looked the new comer in the eye. Rather knowing that it was not going to be in his best interest to say something out of turn. Yet when he heard the diseray outside he knew it was time to move on. "Well as lovely as the chat would be, I suppose you have something to atend to outside my friend." He then turned to Desna, his helmed face looking dead at hers. "I believe its time we left unless you have a better idea of what to do here."
Before Serah could answer Nevo, there was a deafening explosion, and within moments, they were surrounded by angry gremlins. Someone walked up to her boss, but she couldn't make out who it was over Alvin's shoulder. She grabbed Nevo's hand and whispered, "I'm gonna bet we'll be ordered to cloak in a moment. I'll keep you covered."
Meanwhile, Desna just smirked at the Operator. "Chat? Who needs chat when we have weapons?" She snapped her fingers, and all the Recon Rangers immediately cloaked. While cloaked, Desna opened a channel to Deadman. "We'll make an opening for you. Escort everyone else out on my signal."
Serah held tight onto Nevo's hand, wanting to keep him invisible through her recon cloak. She followed Desna to the enemy flank, and when the signal was given, they all attacked at once upon the hapless foes. Serah quickly armed a Blast Bomb and hurled it at the enemy. Most of the grems were able to clear out, but a few unlucky ones took the full brunt of the blast and were thrown away. Desna, meantime, whipped out her Sentenza and began plugging away at the nearest grems. Many deadly shadow bullets ripped into the unlucky bodies and shredded them into nothingness.
Them Deadman got his signal.
Looking around Dead rased his right hand, as soon as it went up all the captives were suddenly gone from sight. Even Daud disappeared in the entanglement. Of course the 'Regulators' as the members of the Watched called themselfs, had grabbed them and wordlessly moved each one of them through the base to the exit the Regulators has made. Once they were out side, and on what felt like a slate of metal the Knights were rushed off in a direction far beyond the walls of Haven. Turning off all devices that could let them be tracked the Regulators started to move around the bodies till the Medic who was stealthed as well got herself set up.
Once they were beyond sight of the attacking force, at least 22530.8 meters (That's about 14 miles which is easy enough to make in about five minutes at those speeds), the Regulator's turned off the Stealth gear and looked back. Beyond their sight was a battle of Recon and their once captures. Daud sighed as he gripped the railing, "Return to us damn it..." He said almost worried about Desna. Turning back to the man at the helm he grabbed the map they had of the out side waste land. "Alright make for Sight 1. Section 37 would kill these Knights with questions, it would be in their best interest to rest a bit." Turning around as the Helms-men altered their course slightly Deadman spoke to the Survivors. "Alright, listen and listen good. You will be the first people to get into the Watchs head Quarters since its founding. So what you see and do in their are to be kept between you and the Watch. Also, you will meet a man who is to be your host so do show some respect. It was because of him you will be able to recover in peace, any questions should be asked now." Daud said to everyone on board.
The Regulators, who now were fourteen strong on the transport, were holding their weapons at the ready and guns aimed. They were of course watching from all directions and ready to veer to Sight 4 if something went wrong, of course this did not mean everything was going to go so swimingly but the Regulators were a Trained 'army'. Ready for anything if something should happen.
As the feuding began, I cloaked myself, moving back a few paces. Taking a brief moment to take in the battle, I could see that for the most part there were gremlins. My elemental weaponry and weaving abilities would be rather insufficient and inefficient, so I needed to engage them in a different manner. Once I felt that I wasn't within any immediate threats, I uncloaked and focused on the Gremlins hammers, with a single thought, I wrenched three of them defenseless, and hurled the hammers back at them, knocking them out. I repeated the process, using telekinesis to throw the gremlins own weapons back at them. Talk about a taste of your own medicine, I thought smirking.
Oh well.
The operator dodged the bombs and guns, then noticed an invisible being, throwing blast bombs around. He grinned, then leapt on him, then realizing it was a 'her'. Operator then jammed a hidden knife into her stomach, then leapt off. He withdrew another knife (Where did he store his knives? xD) and charged at Desna, who was doing the most damage to his force.
OOC: The person operator leapt on was Serah. Maybe a romantic scene with Nevo and Serah, then releiazing (Spelling Problem. :P) it was just a light wound.
((OOC: this is litterally just a "catching up" post, I'll post actual progress later.))
After getting my gear back, a security alarm soon went off. The rangers went to find the source, and came back and told desna what's going on. When all the rangers came back, Desna said "we're going after them. Also, we're under attack, so watch out." Really, this soon?
A man (I probably should get around to learning some names...) stepped up and offered to bring us to some place called "the watch". Desna stared at him, but then allowed us a choice between staying and going with him. She also mentioned his name, Deadman. that's a strange name.
I eventually decided to go with deadman, as I'm not exactly the most useful in a fight.
After short a while, the door exploded, someone came out and chatted with desna. He used a nice "old freind"-ish tone of voice and words, but they didn't seem to be on completely stable grounds. The rangers started fighting the army of gremlins outside, and deadman took everyone who hadn't volenteered to go out to the watch thing.
Nevo yelled as loud as he could. " WE NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE HERE! NOW!" Nevo checked the wound. Serah's armor should have stopped the knife, but it didn't. Nevo let go of Serah's hand, and turned visible. He didn't care if he got hurt. Realising that no help would come, that everyone was too focused on the battle, Nevo grabbed Serah and put her in a firemans hold, and ran for the base camp.
"You're going to be ok."
You have to be ok. Please.
Taking a moment to recuperate, a strange sight grabbed my attention. One of the Knights that had been in the games, was frantically running from the battle, a recon in his arms. I frowned for a second, was that guy crazy? He was drawing attention like an oasis in the desert! Exactly as I suspected, some Gremlins caught wind of his vulnerability and began aiming for him. I threw out my arms and with tremendous force formed a shielding electromagnetic field around them. To my horror, however, a sniper bullet struck the Knight, who nearly dropped the fallen recon to the ground. Others were attempting to assist them, but the opposing forces were relentless. Spreading my legs apart a bit to get a better stance I tested my limits.
Using telekinesis, I lifted them up, and began to move them towards me. Almost instantly, I lost the hold on the shielding I was giving them. A few bullets stricking the ground near them made me double my efforts. Putting my maximum effort into it, I managed to bring them to me, my head however, was like a raging storm. Worried about the Knight after having taken a bullet, I quickly looked at him throwing furtive glances up, worried that a bullet would strike me next. Luckily, it seemed that the reconstruction and other Knights had closed them back off. After a quick look, it seemed as if the Knight was unharmed. My electromagnetic field must have slowed the bullet enough that it hit hard, but didn't pierce. Once again, despite my nearly unbearable headache, I cloaked all three of us.
"Use the Recon Cloak." I mumbled quickly. With that, I helped them retreat to a safer place.
(OOC: Sorry if I sort of power played a bit there... Also, Serah is uncloaked, so I can see her, right?)
Nevo couldn't feel his ribs after that bullet hit him. He was greatful that he didn't die, though. He was even more so, because Serah, although in her sudden state, was alive. Nevo clenched his right ribs, it would have to get attended to, but his main priority was to get Serah safe. Back in the base, he slumped her onto a table, and then ran back outside, leaving Serah alone. The anger from before was back.
And boy, it was a lot more volatile.
((EDIT: New perk get!: Furious anger
Nevo gains +5 damage
Nevo gains charge attack (See first page)
Nevo looses shielding))

Dust.
Collapsed on the table.
Dust.
Fumbled the can.
Dust.
Shoved Warp Dust into the mouth.
Relief.
The assassin slumped to the floor and closed her eyes. After a few minutes, she clenched her fist, drawing a little blood on her fingernails. Yes...I am strong again. She strode out of the building and took in her surroundings. She drew in a deep breath of Haven's clean, moist air and gazed thoughtfully for a few moments upon the clear blue skies above her. Pavement clicked merrily beneath her boots when she stepped out onto the street.
It was a good day, she decided.
Her reverie was broken by a cacophony of bullets and blades near an innocent-looking building two blocks away. Intrigued by the rare display of violence in the peaceful town of Haven, she wrapped herself in the darkness and crept closer. As she approached the skirmish, familiar faces leaped out at her. It began to dawn on her that these were the prisoners she was instructed to kill back in the dungeons. Now that she had escaped and possessed her own supply of Warp Dust, she didn't have to kill them anymore. It was just as well; they were good fighters, given all their gear back.
Three of them began to stumble in her direction. One was a tall, dark fellow in the usual hybrid loadout; one looked like a bat; and one, in the arms of the bat-man, was a young female Recon Ranger. Serah? Helpless? Puh-lease, she kicked my butt single-handed last time we met. She's playing him for sure. She couldn't help but snicker a little. Unfortunately, the tall one was just passing her by at that moment...
Nevo searched the battlefield for the man who stabbed Serah. After seconds, Nevo's eyes locked on to him.
There you are. You're gonna pay.
The operator locked eyes with Nevo, two.
Nevo pointed at him, then moving his hand back, he brushed his thumb across his neck, as to say "You're dead."
And with that, Nevo sprinted into the fight, stabbing his sword into some unfortunate gremlins as he rushed past them, towards the operator. Just before Nevo got to the operator, a darkfang thwacker stepped infront of him. Instead of stabbing him, Nevo jumped, and flipped over him. Twisting in midair, he threw a blast bomb at the gremlin, which hit it in the face, and then exploded.
The operator, and an enraged Nevo, were face to face.
I started to rush back to the prison and talked to the swarm agent and said "Do you want increased power to break out?", the agent said "Yes but, who are you?". I tell him "My name's Antasma and I am here to give you more power from this orb" I show him a orb which is in my cloak pocket and it looked empty. The agent noticed it and said "Isn't there supposed to be something in there?" but I said "Oh, it LOOKS empty but it's actually full, the swarm technology with these orbs are still weird". The agent said "Pass it up to me and how do I use it?", I toss it up to the swarm agent and said "Keep it by yourself for 5 minutes and then toss it back to me before you go to sleep, when you wake back up, you will feel stronger and much better." After 5 minutes the swarm agent tosses it back to Antasma and said "Thanks Antasma, I should be out of here in no-time and" I said "All the swarm needs to stick together" and I walk away from the prison snickering "I can't believe he fell for it, I now have that swarm agents power". I then see 1 knight running through the desert and seemed to be holding another knight who seemed to be hurt, I decided to slowly chase after them and they reach the town. I started to change my plans and just walk casually and I then heard someone and I turned around to where I heard the snickering...
I see that dark creature come back and was saying "Do you want increased power to break out?" and I said "Yes, but who are you?". That dark creature said "My name's Antasma and I am here to give you more power from this orb". He shows me a orb which looks empty but I look carefully at his feet and there was no feet, just a tail. I also looked at the orb which seemed empty and I said "Isn't there supposed to be something in there?" but he said "Oh, it LOOKS empty but it's actually full, the swarm technology with these orbs are still weird". I said to him "Pass it up to me and how do I use it?", Antasma threw the orb to me and I caught it. Antasma then said "Keep it by yourself for 5 minutes and then toss it back to me before you go to sleep, when you wake back up, you will feel stronger and much better." I put near my body and it seemed to be moving power from the orb into my power. After 5 minutes I toss the orb back to Antasma and said "Thanks Antasma, I should be out of here in no-time" and he then said ""All the swarm needs to stick together" and then I fell asleep.
((OOC: Me and Troloe decided this in-game.))
1st person mode:
'Huh. Last time I saw Serah, or whatever her name was, she beat the Finder one on one. Didn't know she flirted that harcore.' I laughed at the guy charging at me. 'What, you scared for her? Aww... The experiment has found some love.'
He charged me, swinging his sword, leaving a small cut on my face. Don't get reckless and arrogant, dude. I chided myself, and materialized my Blitz Needles. Both of them. I swing them to bear, and fired. It didn't kill the guy, but it did make him fly back to his girlfriend.
Suddenly, there was a moment of nausea, then Serris' voice floated into my mind, "I'm calling the Finder back. But for now, I'll need to take control"
"God, no!" I yelled, not noticing I was yelling out loud, which made people think I was crazier. (Or more crazy than I was.)
"God, yes. Taking control... now." I could feel Serris' mind control begun gripping my mind, and I used my last moments of consciousness to yell at Densa, "Serris is taking over! Run, while you still can!" I moaned, then fell to the ground. I vomited, and thus, I become Operator, minion of Serris, the 'other' form of Serris.
3rd person
"Mwahaha! I haven't been in action for YEARS!" Serris/Operator yelled, floating into the air, discarding his Blitz Needles. He fired dark energy from his hands, blasting Recon Rangers and Operator's forces alike. Not long after, the ground was full of craters. Operator's minions dead, and the Recon Rangers wounded, and dazed. Serris/Operator floated right in front of Desna, gloating, "Well well well..... if it isn't Operator's love interest..... I could see why he likes you." Serris then glanced at her chest, grinning. "Too bad you're not going to stay for long." He raised his hand, and Desna flew through the air, crashing into a wall. "Now... it's time for me to retire." Serris/Operator seemed to hover in a second a bit more, before dropping. Operator vomited again.
Nevo woke up by Serah. All he remembered was cutting the Operator's face a bit, then exchanging insults, then... Nevo looked down at his stomach.
Yes. The needles were still there. Gripping one of the needles, he said " I am not..." He pulled it out, grunting a bit. "An experiment." He did the same thing with the other needles, before throwing them away. He didn't feel much of the pain.
Daud looked around as the calm plains of the waste lands moved under them. It was a sight he was use to seeing alot from his youth, but as he grew older this became more and more of a nightmare then a dream. "ETA thirty minutes." The Helms-men said as Daud looked forwards, it had been about three years since he saw his Leader because of what happened.
Thinking now, I wonder if leaving all those knights behind was such a good idea. Ya sure they can fight but with their luck they will get blasted by some kinda supernatural force... Deadman put the though behind him as he turned and looked at the medic who was starting to put her tools away. "Take a look at my arm will you. I had to dislocated earlier, just want to make sure its alright." Sitting down a flash of purple came from him as his helm and upper armor dissappeared showing of his Ghastly white hair and upper torso. He was well built, of course all Knights who went through the Wardens Training were, but along his back was a scar from what looked like a Trojan's blade. Along with some other less then nice looking scars. His face was dead set looking forwards as the medic went to work looking over his shoulder. It was swollen but nothing majorly wrong.
One of the Regulators lowered his gun and looked around, their was a small ruined building he looked at before a red flare was shot upwords. "Alright we still have a small outpost here. Do we need to stop?" No one responded to his question thus he turned around and dropped off a crate from the side of the speeder. Their were three more just like the one he kicked off the side but as the one that fell down hit the ground part of the top cracked open as Dark matter Shards were scattered across the ground. "They got what they needed for a few days. We need to dive more often for the energy sources."
Daud looked back at the people he had rescued. "You have been quiet. Not going to say something? Also don't worry about them, we sent a little 'care package' for them." Daud gave a small smile. "We don't leave friends in the lurch."
With in minutes of Daud saying so a speeder came by with a crate that was dropped off near the entrance/exit of the base. Inside was a small crate with some Sparks of Life, Ammo, as well as some minor medical supplies. One of the Regulators had jumped down and ran over to Desna. Rather then acting he just watched the events unfold, saying nothing but being a silent recorder of time.
((OoC: Just fixing this post))
(OOC: Where's Hexlash? Nitscu was supposed to hear the assassin.)
Desna crashed into the wall. Pain roared through her back, but at least she could still feel it. She groaned as she struggled to stand up, but her back simply wouldn't allow it. So she wearily pointed her Sentenza at the Operator and muttered, "Yeah, it's time for you to retire."
She took aim at his head and pulled the trigger.
__________
Serah wasn't feeling very well, either. She was fading in and out of consciousness; reality phased into dreams, dreams became reality, and her thoughts were tossed around like leaves in the wind.
But not for long. She was a Recon Ranger. Though it hurt like heck, the wound wasn't very serious; she would survive. If she put her mind to it, she could even fight. She struggled to recollect her thoughts, and soon regained consciousness. She quickly realized that she had been carried by Nevo to a safer location and laid down on a table. She tried to sit up, but the wound immediately complained, and she dropped back down with a cry.
She looked at Nevo. He was wounded, too. Needles lay scattered on the floor next to him, and he was still picking them out of his chest. "Hey...Nevo?" she whispered. He probably couldn't hear her, but it needed to be said. "Let's start over."
As I am looking where the snickering was and then explosions go off in the desert and I rush back to see what was happening. I see the leader of the army attacking everyone including his own army. I looked carefully and saw the leader shooting dark energy. He then falls on the ground and started to vomit. I then see Desna starting to shoot a Sentenza at the person who shoot the dark energy and it seemed that person was going to die. I then rushed back to the prison to see if I can break Lucario out and then kill him when he is not looking.
Nevo could hear Serah, but only barely.
"Start over..." Nevo said slowly, pondering it in his head.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'd like that." Nevo whispered back, conserving his energy. Because of his anger, he didn't feel the blitz needles.
But he did now. He was loosing blood, and quite fast.
Operator vomited, stood up, and a flurry of bullets pelted him. He was knocked to the floor, and he vomited again, this time with blood.
"No!" He tried to yell, when another clip of bullets slammed into his right arm, severing the thumb. He screamed, then got to his feet. He could see Desna shooting, her face invisible in her helmet.
"Desna! Please!" He pleaded as more bullets begun to hit him, then a gigantic dark phoenix launched him into the air. "Please....." He muttered, feeling his chest. It was heavily injured, even with the armour on.
"Desna.... please... I want to be good. It was all Serris!" He cried, when a bullet found it's way into his eyeball. He was launched backwards, the bullet piercing his eye. He fell with a thump. He blinked with his good eye a few times, fumbled with his datapad, pressed 'record' then told his whole story.
Why he had killed so many people.
Why he had worked for Serris.
Why he had tried to kill everyone.
Why he was (maybe) crazy.
After a while of that, he stopped the recording, labelled it 'Last words,' and let it drop from his fingers, and into his pool of blood. He no longer felt the pain in his eye.
He was dead.
Standing up Daud looked north to see an all broken down building as well as what looked like a some what breaking apart wall around it. "Home, I an't been here in some time. Nice to see they still left it the way they found it." He said as the Transport slowed down, they still had a way to go but in order to make sure they were secure the Transport was of course going to slow down as three Regulators jumped off and moved to what looked like duns in the burning ground of Cradle. With the night time aroma going on the land was not as hot as it normally was but still seemed to sing with the days heat.
Grumbling a little Deadman jumped off as well to join the ground units walking out words. Of course the transporter was on a dead course to a open hole in the wall that seemed to be completely blank. "Alright, spread out and check the area. Standered operation, search, secure, move on."
---
The Regulator who went to aid Desna pulled back as he watch her get up. The man was thinking something but his thoughts were taken away as he saw most of the army who were attacking the Recon. The crate was still their but untouched.
I wait until Lucario wakes up and when he looked outside and saw me, I launched a charged plasma bolt at the bars which broke the bars and Lucario started to squeeze his way out. I run away from the prison because the alarms went off and no wardens noticed me so I was still safe. I also lost Lucario and started to run around to find him but he seemed to have vanished. I looked back at the recon base and saw the leader of the gremlin army and who shot the dark power out was now dead.
I wake up feeling much better and see Antasma launching a plasma bolt and it broke the bars. Straight after that, an alarm went off and I was able to squeeze through the gap and landed on my feet. The wardens started to come after me and I then thought " I need to return to Emberlight to see if my items are still there". I was able to make it to the lift down to Emberlight but before I did, I got slashed by a warden's Leviathan Blade. As the lift was going down, I noticed my leg was brutally cut and bleeding fast. As I reached Emberlight, I started to limb to the ghostmane office and the gremlins there said "EVERYONE, Lucario's Back, but he looks like he is in real pain!". The gremlins carry me to the ghostmane office and gave me my items back and covered up the wound. They said "Where were you the last 10 years Lucario?, your items got teleported back but you never did." I replied to them. "I got corrupted by the swarm but a dark creature some how purified me but I still have strong self-curse". The ghostmane stalkers said "You... you where corrupted... that's why you weren't responding the past 10 years. They scanned me and noticed that I was fully saved from the swarm but more likely to get killed because of the strong self-curse. I put all my items on and got my 3* shadow cloak skill back as well as my saw attack. I need to go and I will see you later. The ghostmane stalkers said "Be careful, you seem to be weaker than before and that cut you have on your leg along with strong self-curse will miss you up if you aren't careful". I went back up from the other lift that gave you the option to go down. I did this because the Warden's would have been waiting for me. I started to limb through Haven but I heard some snickering and started to panic. I limbed my way towards the desert and stopped because I saw Antasma. He seemed to be Angry and I limbed back to the Auction House acting like a regular knight thinking "I need to join the other knights but I have to watch out for Desna, Wardens, "the finder" and maybe Antasma". I am not sure about him but he seems to be chatty.
((OOC: I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 5 HOURS!))
(OOC: @Creeperlucario: Join the club. The Finder/Assassin is still waiting on Hexlash's response, and I've been waiting for nearly a whole day now.)
Desna let her gun drop to the floor. The deed was done. She had shot and killed the Operator, a man she once loved, without shedding a single tear in remorse. Why? Perhaps it was to free him from Serris. Perhaps she wanted revenge for his leaving her. Or perhaps she just wanted justice for all the men and women who lost their lives in the dungeons because of his deeds. Whatever the reason, there was no turning back.
She arched her back and cracked it back into place. After allowing a few moments for the pain to subside, she carefully stood up and surveyed the battlefield. The gremlins had fled once their leader was killed. It was just as well; she wouldn't have survived a sustained attack. She raised her arm and activated the comlink. "Come in HQ, do you copy?" "Spiral HQ here, go ahead Desna."
"Medical assistance to block seven, over." "Roger, medical assistance to block seven."
"Thank you HQ, Desna out."
She closed the channel and turned to Nevo. "Well, looks like you're still here. You gonna be okay, man?"
I decided that being in the city was a bad idea because warden's patrol the city all the time. I limbed around the long way because no-one who is after me is on this path. I make it to a base looking thing and see some dead bodies on the ground and I also see Desna. I am still weak but I am not corrupted by the swarm anymore which might make Antasma come after me. I limb over the battlefield to the base and see some people who are very weak. When I got too close, Desna knocked me out...
((OOC: Didn't know that was a power play, sorry Thin.))
I started grumbling to myself "How did I lose Lucario?" I then see a figure walking through the desert and it seems to be walking to Desna's base. I look carefully and noticed it was Lucario who seemed to have better equipment but a limb in his leg. I start laughing but he then gets knocked out by Desna and I screeched at them saying "Give me Lucario now or I will destroy your base and kill you all!".
((OOC: Thin, possible battle scene? and I sorted out some problems with other posts.))
(OOC: Life... :c Anyways, @Trololoe, 2/5, because there seems to be some sort of distance confusion, as you say you see Lucario walking to the base, and somehow you are close enough to threaten them after the events unfold... I'm assuming your a bit far away, considering that no one sees you. Speaking of which, nice way to improve post quality Thin!)
I pause, I'm not sure what, but I know that I heard something. My interest piqued, I back step a few paces, attempting in vain to recall whatever it is that I had detected. A shrill pain shooting through my head makes me decide otherwise. Perhaps it was just my headache; I was exerting myself far too greatly. Yet the sense that I wasn't alone remained prominent. I shook my head, trying to shake the peculiar feeling, only then noticing that the two Knights I had assisted in rescuing had gone off themselves. Nausea sweeps through me as I suddenly double over onto the ground. My head is screaming in pain, I can barely think! Err, ugh... My thoughts seem vague, the one thing I can keep in my head is that I really need to take at least a day off of no weaving. The pain subdues for a second as I try to gather my thoughts. For a second I remember a sound, it was happy, presumably, but now everything is getting dark. Darnit! Who turned the lights... off...
Daud looked across the scorched ground. It had been a good while since he had word with anyone and yet it felt wrong to him just to let thing sit. Shaking his head alittle Daud kept watch. Wonder if they survived...knowing Desna they did but at the rate everything else seemed some one more then likely got hurt...no one is immortal and even a Knight must fall. Might as well make a call and see of some one survived. Reach up Daud placed a finger on the side of his helm. After a moment he was one the same comm. channel as before trying to get ahold of Desna. "Did anyone make it? Also, how has the battle gone sofar. The Knights in my care are well safe with in the walls of the Watch."
As he spoke the Knights were went on the transport were rushed onto a platform that took them down into a massive open area, not in the clockworks but just bellow. Transports, personal 'transports', even a ship that was under content repair was on this hardtop. Of course above this was a system of cat walks linking to a building that seemed to be suspended in air. Their the Leader of the watch sat, day after day, leading his forces around the clock and waiting to see the Knights who just arrived.
((OoC: Thin, their is a Regulator lurking around Desna. More or less with some medical supplies via the crate drop he fell with xD))
(OOC: @Creeperlucario: Erm, having Desna knock you out is a power play. Try not to do that again, please.)
When Antasma issued his ultimatum...
Give him Lucario, or get wiped out? Easy choice. "Sure! You can have him." Desna nudged his limp body towards the strange floaty guy. "We don't much care for infected folk anyways."
Then a curious voice came up on her comlink. "Did anyone make it? Also, how has the battle gone so far? The Knights in my care are safe well within the walls of the Watch."
Must be some kind of friend. "Yeah. I, Serah, Alvin, Laker, Sean, and Nevo all made it. Nevo is a needle pincushion at the moment."
__________
After Nitscu lost consciousness...
What the!?... Whoever hit Nitscu was clearly better at stealth than she was. She weaved an even tighter cloak, this one preventing sound and smell as well as sight, and searched intently for the attacker. Her heart and mind began to race; had Serris replaced her? was someone after her and hit this guy by accident? did he suddenly get sick? Unsure of what to do, she began to flee the scene. But no sooner had she taken a few steps than her conscience smote her. He kinda needed help. She glanced back at him; he didn't look very sick, and she still couldn't see any other assassin.
She ran back to him and dragged him to the abandoned building. If she was lucky, nobody would notice he was missing. She laid him on the table and uncloaked. Gosh, was he handsome! She brushed through his hair to see what knocked him out. There was a bruise on his forehead, but nothing serious otherwise. She breathed a sigh of relief and removed her cloak and hood.
Bending him self around a bit he smiled unseen. "Well its good to hear you all made it out. This is Desna, I presume. What should we do? We are here waiting for orders as well as treading the Knights under my care. We have a ETA of one hour inbetween here and their. Should be sooner of the techs. at the lab finish working on the engiens of the Transports in time. This is Daud, Warden Deadman." He said as he looked across the field. "Also their was a care package left beind with one of the Regulators. He is more then likely lurking around watching everything from the back round."
---
Looking around the Regulator was ordered to hold his ground and keep the crate safe will other wise told so. The supplies in side were going to be useful for something in the future but as per regulations, he was told not what was inside just to keep it closed till other wise told so. With a huff the Regulator uncloaked an removed his helm. Waiting for something to happen he pulled out what could only be described as a smoking imploment and lit up while he waited.
((OoC: Its just a simple smoking pipe, non-narcotic.))
((OOC: upon re-reading, I realized you weren't with us darkwatck. Dang! Oh well...))
Looking around, I was on some sort of transporter, speeding over cradle quite fast. Deadman asked if we had questions, but I couldn't think of any at the time. He also told us not to worry about them, as they sent a "care package" to them.
The rest of the ride was completely uneventful. Just crossing desert for roughly 30 minutes. We eventually came to a building that was completely in shambles, but we were headed strait for it, so I guess that was where we were headed, and what also was the watch. Not exactly as sleek or cool looking as I was expecting. I mean, they had all this stuff, so why would they be in a area like that? Was what I thought.
That thought was wrong.
Some of the... whatever they call themselves. Watchers maybe? That might fit with their bases name... jumped off onto the sandy ground, including deadman, but we kept flying in the direction a hole in the wall. We went through the hole, and came to a platform which we were moved across, and out into a massive room. Never mind my earlier thought. This place is pretty impressive.
Inside the room were a bunch of transports, a ship being repaired on a hard dock, among other things. "What exactly is this place?" I wondered aloud as I moved across the catwalks we were on.
((OOC: Did I understand what happened correctly, or am I misunderstanding something?))
((OoC: You are right Dmatter))
Walking across the platform a man in what looked to be Dread Skelly armor walked up to them. The dark aura slowly winding off his body, on his hip rode a weapon as much as a demon as its name. "This is my home. As for this place, this is a staging area were we prep ships and transports. Also knowing as Sight 0. As you see most of our workmen here send their time trying to repair or fix the damages the desert out their causes our air craft." Turning to look at Dmatter the man looked him directly into the eye, his burning red. "I am Skotino, and this is the Darkwatch." He then took a cursearey glance across the Transport. "Shame...Ah well, come along this is why you came here to rest up and get ready." Turning and walking away Skotino kept his hand to his side as he watched the men work. Of on the other side of the platform were some people doing phyical training with weapons and armor of all kinds. Broken down into decisions of the basic armor types. The only ones no present were the Shadow Guardians. "Its been nearly two life times since some one came here that was not with the Watch. Most our recruits can't even make the long walk with out needing help. But Daud said you were not recruits and the Order is after you, so your safe here. They have not found us and unless they were to be brought here directly they will never find us. Its from here that Section 37 takes in the many requests from the Order and or Knights of the Order to carry out the...less then desirable tasks. And one the side some personal thinks." The man was walking them up the cat walks now, from here they could have seen how massive the platform below was. And of course right in the middle of it wall above the work area was the mans office. "Come we have much to talk about."
((OoC: I will wait on Thin for Deadmans responce. turns out he might be more invested into Desna then though out en?))
Nevo looked up at Desna. "Yeah. I think I'll be alright." He was obviously lying, as more of his blood was spilling across the floor as they spoke. His eyes dimmed more every second.
I told the people in the base to give me Lucario and they agreed. They pushed him to me and I picked him up. I start walking to a nearby forest so no-one can see me killing him. I throw him to a big tree and start to talk. "Lucario, the reason why I broke you out of the prison was to kill you. The only reason why I am killing you and not leaving you as the swarm because you have Curse which is very fatal to the swarm." He sees Lucario trying to stand and I launched a weak plasma bolt at Lucario to weaken him. "Anyways, the swarm gave you the self-curse because they knew you were to weak and would die to easy. I have destroyed and killed almost all the curse dealing items and enemies. I just need to kill a few remaining black kats, the caravons they spawn, 1 Gran Faust and you Lucario. And now... to finish you off!".
((4/5! You've captured the essence of how your character works, got no serious grammar errors, and your words are put together smoothly. That's some solid writing there. Nice work!
The reasons it's not 5/5, though, are because 1) the writing tone (word choice) makes it sound like he's trying to be nice and 2) there's no feeling of dread over the potential death of Lucario (which, admittedly, is mostly Creep's fault). Tone of voice is hard to pin down in writing, but it can work wonders if done right. Keep practicing! :D))
Desna got a voice on her channel again. "Well its good to hear you all made it out. This is Desna, I presume. What should we do? We are here waiting for orders as well as treating the Knights under my care. We have an ETA of one hour in between here and there. Should be sooner if the techs at the lab finish working on the engines of the transports in time. This is Daud, Warden Deadman. Also there was a care package left behind with one of the Regulators. He is more then likely lurking around watching everything from the background."
Desna nodded, though he couldn't see it. "Acknowledged. Do hurry; I've got a few wounded here."
(OOC: slight retcon and recap)
She closed the channel and turned to Nevo. "Well, looks like you're still here. You gonna be okay, man?" He looked up at her and replied wearily, "Yeah, I think I'll be all right." Desna glanced at the pool of blood on the floor, then back at Nevo. "No, you won't be all right. We gotta patch that up so you'll live long enough to meet a sexy medic," she said with a naughty grin. She sifted through her pack and found a roll of medical tape, which she wrapped a few times over Nevo's many wounds. Once he was properly mummified, she gave him a hard pat on the back. "Okey doke! That should do ya. Don't do any strenuous work for about five hours, drink plenty of fluids, yada yada yada...just sit still for a while, okay? Can you do that?"
"Sit? Heh, That's all I can do." Nevo replied, with a faint smile.
"But seriously, I can do that." Nevo turned his head a bit, to look at Serah. She hadn't said much, besides "Start over" but that didn't matter. Those two words made a big difference, to know that she's alive.
"Do you think Serah will be okay? That blade went pretty deep." Nevo asked, trying not to sound worried.
Minion walked into the battlezone, his eyes helping Serris take in everything.
"Find Desna's weakness. Should be the operator. Worth a try." Serris' voice floated into minions mind.
He complied, walking over to Desna. Next to her, there was a bleeding man. Crouching next to him, he injected a sleep syringe into Nova's arm.
"So.... Who's this? Friend? Enemy? Lover?" Minion asked, Serris' words using Minion,s mouth. He nudged the operator, while pulling a needle out of Nova,s stomach.
(Sorry if its not my usual standard. In a hurry, and typing using a tab. :P )
Deadman gave a spoken nod as he quickly turned to a dead channel. After restating his open channel line a voice spoke up asking for the reason of his call. “I request a transport to the front of Sight 1, 27.4 meters from the entrance. Also, sendlight medical supplies….Also send some food. M.R.E’s as well as a spot of hard water.” Daud chuckled to himself as he went over in his mind what the hard water was for. Might as well drink something to cut the edge off the pain. As long as they remember it’s for numbing pain. Of course might as well be a little sly. Some humility of his showing for a moment as he walked forwards. Crossing his arms he waited as he looked back, it would take a moment for things to get moving but once they were moving he would be to Desna’s last known location in less than an hour.
---
The PA in the base rang out with a harsh ring as each member of the Watch in the Transport area stopped and looked up. “Code Seven, Light Medical supplies and food are to be loaded on a Class Four transport with Three Regulators. Section 37 has approved of the following, Crate labeled Ration M.R.E, Heavy Water as well as Port. This will be taken 27.4 Meters from Gate Three. Number 2 will be directing the operation their after.” After a moment the PA spoke once more. “Skotino, Section 37 wishs to speak to you on line ten. The inquiry was on the rival of Transport 738.”
Skotino reached up and touched the top of his head. Since the Armor he had on limited him to only two finger and a Thumb it was hard to make finger gestures. Grumbling as he walked to his office Skotin turned his head slightly and said, “Brake room is down that way to the left. Stay there for now and rest. I will be done as soon as I can. The far left side is for training, you will find everything you need to work out as well as work on your swordsmanship. Just ask the High Overseer about where you can work out.” With that said Skotino went off to the center office and closed the door.
I start to wake up and see Desna pushing me towards Antasma who started to take me towards a forest. As he entered the forest, he threw me towards a tree and I fell face first on the ground. I heard some screeches in the distance and I then realized they were black kat screeches. I tried to talk to them but I hear Antasma starting to talk. I tried to stand up but he attacks me and I fall back down. Straight after I fell back down, I was able to talk to the black kat and told it "I need help", the kat replied "How are you able to talk to me because you are a knight". I told the kat "I have strong self-curse which allows me to talk to all curse dealing enemies and Antasma is going to kill me!". The black kat replied "Ok, we are coming and try to survive" after the black kat replied the communication stopped and I heard Antasma saying "And now... to finish you off!" I then hear loud cracking of strong shock energy and I thought "This might be the end of me...".
((OOC: Thin's decision now, do I get saved by the black kats or get killed by Antasma?))
(OOC: @Creeperlucario: It's your character. You decide.)
"Do you think Serah will be okay? That blade went pretty deep," Nevo asked, trying not to sound worried. Desna grinned. "Why don't you ask her yourself?" She looked at Serah, who seemed to be gazing more or less in Nevo's direction. Serah smiled weakly, but said nothing.
Then an odd-looking Recon Ranger (that's Minion) walked into the area and took in the surroundings. He crouched next to Nevo and put a syringe into his arm. Desna reached for her Sentenza and considered shooting the guy right then and there. But then the man spoke. "So...who's this? Friend? Enemy? Lover?" He pulled out of Nevo's stomach a needle that she missed. "Ally," Desna replied tersely. "And you're not going to touch him again." She pointed her Sentenza at his head. "Nobody just waltzes into a warzone and puts syringes into wounded people. And don't you lie to me boy, 'cause I know you ain't a medic."
"Who the heck are you?"
Serah had lost most of her courage to talk to the stranger, but it helped that he apologized. "Uh...I guess, y- yeah, okay. I- I'm...I'm...Serah." She smiled weakly and looked away.
