Skylark Down (roleplay)[apps closed]

The Skylark has just reached Cradle. The Owlites and the Kats have nearly finished their war. Lord Vanaduke has recently retaken Almire. You, the player, are about to become an important part of these exciting times. If you wish to participate, tell us who you are and why we should care. Yep, that's all there is to it. No complicated character sheets to fill out, no stats to worry about, just freeform fun. Armor and equipment works however you want it to; you can play as any race known in Spiral Knights lore; you can create your own story and your own goals. Be who you want to be, do what you want to do.
However, this means that the bar is higher. Since it is entirely up to you to decide what you want to tell us about your character, I won't accept anything less than the best, most detailed, most unique characters. Given the highly-freeform nature of this roleplay, players will be expected to adhere very strictly to the standard rules of roleplaying, outlined in the discussion thread, and your character applications must make sense if you want them to be accepted. You will also not be allowed to create or use NPCs; that's the moderator's job. This may mean that the world will be pretty sparsely populated, but that's okay; we don't want it to be crowded.
Some sample (and epic!) art for numerous race types is shown on page 2 of the discussion thread, if you're interested. Please post your character applications there.
Have fun!

The shot glass began to slowly fill up with a bitter, alocoholic drink that the strangers reffered to as 'Krisk'. It seemed to be good at doing two things for Gallon. Killing off brain cells to help him briefly forget his past, and to put him in a better, albeit delerious mood. As the glass was topped to near its half-way point, the Ex-Almirian Elite grasped it between his finger and thumb, and took it all as he arched his head back. Turning it around, he firmly placed it onto the table. He hit his chest with his fist lightly a couple of times, before giving a slight cough. The pain of his past was being relieved slowly, as was the patience of the Bartender serving him.
"I think you've had enough, Gallon", The stranger lent in saying. The Amirian just glared up from his hung head position, ignoring the Stranger or just not being sober enough to hear properly. He pulled his hand up and and made a V sign with them.
"Hit me again...this time make it a double". The reluctant stranger poured him one more, and dropped a sleeping tablet into the drink, bringing the liquid up to the rim. Passing it over the counter, the Knight took it between his finger and thumb again, and downed it in one. The Stranger turned his back on the Knight and got back to restocking the shelves when he heard the Knights voice unexpectantly.
"I get the message, I'll go then...". The Stranger had not yet turned around. He heard something being placed upon the table, and then an armoured figure walk slowly toward the doors of the bar, out into Haven's night to contemplate his thoughts and think about everything else. When the Stranger looked round, he saw that it wasn't the shot glass that had been placed, it was the sleeping tablet.
Gallon was wandering listly through the empty streets, with only a few Snipes readying to settle down for the rest of the night. The Almirian looked up into the night sky and thought if anything would ever grant him the Retribution that he had vowed. He took the shield off his back and stared at the sash. Brushing the broaches of his brethren, feelings of remorse and bitterness began to swell inside of him. About to break down wipe his eyes from tears that were forming, he noticed something feint in the sky. Something had entered the atmosphere, and was like a meteorite heading toward Cradle. Seeing himself as the most battle-ready member of Haven, he adjusted his helmet and started to jog toward the outskirts of town, to gain a better vantage of the current events.

As Gallon wanders the empty streets, he spots a small white light in the distance. It appears to be about the size of a small stone. A closer examination would reveal it to be almost perfectly round, with a light blue "eye" in the center. Numerous runes are engraved all over the stone, and it seems to endlessly whisper when you hold it close to your ear. Its utterings are unintelligible, but its light and warmth have a strange calming effect.

Gallon looks at the stone in bemusment. Never before had he seen such a gem in any of his quests with the Lancers. The calming aura that exuded from the stone began to affect him, as the events of the night began to seem less urgent, and more of a task that could be put on hold. Stepping up to the stone, Gallon outstretches a hand, in a motion to pick up the stone. But he pulls his hand away before doing so. Something was off about the stone. It wasn't just something pretty and gleaming, it was different.
The Lancer got down on one knee, and leaned in to take a closer look while avoiding touching the mysterious gem. Tiny ushers and whispers began to ring feintly in his ears. Gallon eyed the odd stone with caution, and took off a small patch from his coat, and placed it around the stone, tying it like a parcel. Carefully picking up the stone, he placed it in his aged coat's pocket, and set off once more toward outskirts of town. Calmer, Clearer & more alert than before, thanks to the effects of the stone.

The outskirts of Haven were lush and green, much like the rest of Cradle's surface. Snipes chirped with melodic trills and buzzed like helicopters across the soft grass, and the occasional wolver could be seen darting about between prey. Strange trees with orbiting leaves cast elaborate shadows on the ground, and the innumerable bushes rustled in mysterious harmony with the wind.
It was a pleasant day indeed.
Then a voice from far away began to sing a beautiful melody, softly at first, and growing stronger with every passing minute. Gallon's day was about to get even better.

OOC: Turns out I can write! :D
Fennel was on leave in Haven, for once not in the fields stalking Wolvers and Trojans and Vogbedamned. It was the first time this year that he was back in town, and he aimed to spend his time wisely. That is, until a beep on his right arm alerted him of an order. Sighing, he excused himself from his circle of friends and walked outside. It was a beautiful day.
Since Fennel was unable to read (though was practicing it), the command was sent via voice.
"A falling rock like formation was seen heading towards our planet. It could be a Lichen infestation. We need you to investigate it." Coordinates were transmitted onto his communication device. At least he had learned enough to know how to read a map. Apparently, the estimated crash location was a mile or so away. Long enough to waste the rest of his day.
Fennel trotted through the streets of Haven, taking in the sights and smells. Being in the field for eleven months a year, he never got used to the bustling marketplace in comparison to the halcyon of the woods.
"Buns! Fresh honey buns! Buy em now, piping hot! Five crowns a dozen!"
"Fabrics here! Twenty crowns a yard! Finest silk from compressed slime gel! Rugs made from Dusker fur! 50 crowns each, and a bargain at that!"
"Sing a song of sixpence, a teapot full of chai, four-and-twenty plump Snipes baked in a pie..."
"News! Smithy Armal is retiring! Monster attack last night at Gatherer Jacob's! Read all about it! A crown a paper!"
Fennel stopped by a vendor and bought a bag of buns, a roll of ham, and two canteens of water. Flipping him a silver crown, he soon reached the end of the busy town. An Ironwood sign greeted him at the stone gates:
WARNING! PAST HERE MONSTERS DWELL! ONLY TRAINED SOLDIERS ADVISED TO EXIT CITY AFTER 500 FEET!
Outside, the crowded streets were meaningless. Snipes twittered happily while Chroma Whelps dozed underneath sun-topped trees. A gentle wind rocked the Drawlinberry bushes, and a pleasant aroma of ripe Daozin flowed throughout the air. A few Strangers were picking the luscious fruit, while children "helped" by storing them...in their bellies.
Passing the second Ironwood wall, Fennel had officially departed from the city boundaries. The sun seemed to be beaming at him, and a river happily gurgled past him.
Wait a second, was that...music? Who in Vog would, of all places, be playing a gentle soothing melody outside the city? Though most monsters had been exterminated, there were still a few Wolvers who didn't give you trouble if you didn't disturb them. Yet this music would most definitely provoke them. Senses on high alert, Fennel noiselessly slipped between a tangle of bushes, right hand on his blade.

The Grave Yard, a place where bodies are laid to rest and sent to there eternal reward for there deeds in the life they once held. On these hollow grounds whispers of the past always seemed to spring forth to tell the present of the mistakes made. Among the ruined lifes and taken Hero's, Mortis rests. But his time for peace, like many others came to an end too soon.
As the cool air moved across the dead mans bed a strange wind blew in as a purple myst arose from the grave. After a moment, an armored coved arm busted threw the ground. Hissing was heard as a head and torso emerged. Looking around the once resting man groned as if he had just woken from a bad dream.
"May head...What happned." He grumbled as he pulled the rest of his body from the ground. It was a moment later his memory hit him as he was looking at his hands. "Right, I died...But that makes no since....Why am I back?" The question seemed to hang in his mind as he remembered his death.
---
Stabbed in the back by those he called his allies the Almirian Soldier stood, face to face with the undead who plagued there land. To his side stood his best Friend and brother in arms. Before them a small army of Dust Zombies who slowly marched from the land of the lost. It was all a blur after that, blades cutting threw bone, people being eaten by the walkers. But what hit him was the sudden pain in the back after the fight.
Turning he saw his Friend holding a bloody blade and a Greedy smile. "I am sorry friend, but tonight the Glory is mine." After that he fell, joining the dead in there eternal slumber.
---
Clinching his fist Mortis roared aloud as his memory flooded his mind. Calming down a little he looked to the sky and saw a ship moving across the sky, odd to him but maybe this was the norm now. He did not know how long he had been asleep, how long it had been or even what was going on. All he knew now was that he needed to get some where away from this grave yard. Some where with people, he needed to talk.
With that set in mind Mortis started walking out of the Grave Yard. Slowly making his way to a town in the distance, a place where he could maybe see some one or something.

Gallon stepped outside of the official border, still retaining his calm and relaxed mood. Breathing in deeply, he inhaled the fresh air, realising how much he had missed some natural pleasantries in his life. Stepping past a few of the Gravitational Trees, an unusual sound began to flood into his ears, as it's muffled sound resonated in his helmet. Stopping in his pace, he readied his spear and shield into a lone phalanx, expecting a trap. Advancing slowly toward the direction of the voice, he noticed that it wasn't just some inaudible noise, but singing. With words. And it was getting louder.
The Lancer closed his eyes, and tried to pin-point the location of the singing. A slight breeze blew around his armour, rustling the grass and leaves around him, yet the sound could be heard as clear as the moon at night. Ahead of him, the voice was definately coming from straight ahead, over a hill that the path lead over. With armanents still in hand, he began to climb to the top of the hill, hoping to gain the high ground over what or whoever was singing.
As he arrived on the peak of the hill, he got down to his belly, and shuffled himself over to the edge, just enough to be able to see over. He stood his ground as he began to stare at the sight that was producing the heavenly siren's like song...

Gallon saw young golden-haired woman in a loose summer dress dancing merrily on the grass, leaving behind a trail of glowing white flowers as she went. She danced away over the next hilltop, carrying her beautiful voice with her.
Gallon, Mortis, and Fennel weren't the only ones trailing her...

Gallon was amazed. I all his combined time in service, and in exile, he had never seen anything so beautiful. And yet here was an amazingly graceful young lady-like figure, prancing around the greenery and flowers without a care in the world. Part of the Lancer wanted to think that he had taken the sleeping pill after all, and that all of this was a dream of sorts. Just to be safe, he pinched himself in the moment.
"Ouch". Gallon ushered, proving to himself that this was all in-fact reality. He looked back quickly to try and catch sight of the girl, he just about spotted her as she disappeared over the hill. Almost cursing to himself for losing track of the "target", he got up from his laying down position, and began to pursue her. As he caught up to her trail, he noticed that small buds of flowers were blossoming. Questions began to pop into Gallon's mind.
Who was she? This was probably the one that stuck out from all the others. Easily keeping up with her listful pace, the Lancer kept moving forward, while still bugging himself with that question. Never had he even heard of something in the wilds of the clockworks to seem as peaceful as whoever this was, yet alone spreading flowers in their wake. Shaking off the feeling, he realised that something had changed about his situation. The beautiful singer had stopped singing. She was standing at Gallon, looking at him quite amused. The Knight froze in place, losing all sense of what he should be doing. Shakily nodding at this new encounter, he finally spoke up toward the figure eyeing him up.
"Hello there, I am Sir Gallon, Ex-Knight of the Almirian Elite Strike force, The Bronze Lancers. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintence. May I know your name, fair maiden?"

Fennel glanced at the maiden happily prancing over a hill, more concerned about the trail of flowers she was leaving. How in Vog was she doing that?! It was almost as if she was springtime incarnated, with her melodic voice, flower path, and beautiful face. A blossom drifted by the Stranger, who snatched and sniffed it. Vanilla.
As he lay there in the shadows, a knight in heavy metal armor pranced up to her and introduced himself. Shrugging, Fennel turned to leave. It was clear that this woman was in no danger with that soldier protecting her. He had a mission. He couldn't let curiosity interrupt him. Trotting off, Fennel glanced around for signs of Wolvers. Nothing.
Glancing at his com, Fennel saw that he was rapidly approaching the projected landing site. Looking above, he squinted against the glare of the sun, backing into the shade of the Gravitational Trees. He could just barely see...an object? Flying down? It almost looked like a flying helicopter Snipe, except it was...FALLING!
...Uh oh.
Fennel watched in horror as the barely visible object split apart and a series of explosion coursed through it, igniting it. With a shock, he realized it was about to crash on him. With another, he remembered the two nearby people. There was no way that they'd survive, unless he warned them!
Running back, Fennel glided along the grassy road. Suddenly everything seemed to be going wrong. The grass's hues began to hurt his eyes. The river became loud and insistent. The rays of sun seemed to be falsely cheery. The Snipes were gone. Probably had sensed something was wrong.
Bursting out of the woods, Fennel yelled out a warning cry, "LOOK OUT!" He pointed at the strange ship-like object, now only a mile or so from impact. It had vanished in a fiery blaze, pieces slipping out and lagging behind like so many flowers behind the maiden.

Still groggy Mortis walked down the path slowly, as not to fall or stumble. In the distance came the sound of a song coming to him, and for some reason it angered him. Trying to ignore it he found it harder to ignore then it would be to just follow. Shaking his head he said, "This is not my, brightest idea." With that said he turned and walked in the direction he heard.
As he walked something felt odd in the air, as if he could since something was out there aside from the singing. Why am I here...Now is not the time for that, right now I should see who is singing. Maybe they can help me understand something. Mortis though as he reached behind him and felt his shield and Lance. Still got them, so I am not defenseless.
Each step seemed to hold about as much weight as if he had on Heavy armor, which he did but it felt as if it had more weight then normal. However he slowly came to a point where the Music was louder and he could make out what looked like a woman, since he was on ground level his focuses was on the singer. It was only as this other man spoke, and from his talking Mortis could id him. However he stood still watching the two, unaware of the fact he was glowing because of the flames that followed him in death.

Ozlo gripped the railing for dear life, hoping that his strap would hold him should he let go. A captain always goes down with his ship. Glancing out the broken window, he could see the planet rising to greet him through the orange flames. He raised his arm and gave a final salute to the new world before all consciousness fled from his mind.
__________
The mighty Skylark plummeted through the sky and plunged into the Great Ocean. Furious tidal waves erupted forth and charged into the surrounding cliffs, beating them down as if with a titan's hammer.
The sky suddenly seemed to light up with shooting stars, each seeming to fall with purpose as they tore through Cradle's clean air. One of them turned into an escape pod and slammed into the hill near Mortis, covering him in a shower of dirt and mud. The hatch burst open with a loud *BANG!!* and tumbled down the hillside. Out stepped a green, bulky humanoid figure with glowing red eyes. It was a Spiral Knight bomber, dazed but unhurt by his perilous fall. He glanced around at his new surroundings, and his gaze eventually settled upon Mortis.
The two stared at each other for a few tense moments.

Ophelia slowly observed the Skylark as it was ripped into ribbons by Cradle's automated defenses. The stranger could only softly mumble as the lasers tore away at the thrusters and the giant ship began to peel apart, layer by layer, until it finally burned in the sky. A loud, yet muffled explosion could be heard, and the ground at Ophelia's feet shook.
Though strange even for Strangers to see, Ophelia had simply clacked her teeth together, and continued to look out at the night sky. As she had surmised in her mind, an array of spherical hunks of metal streaked into the atmosphere, heading towards the rising sun like a group of lost birds in flight. This was what she had anticipated for. Things did not simply look as complex just to look complex, but were only so by nature. A failsafe was there, and she observed as the pods dropped down to Cradle. Some shot right past the first stratum, and the loud booms ensuing symbolized their touchdown.
This prompted her to slip back on her hat, a taxidermy of a Snipe sitting on it. Usually, these hats were known to house nesting Snipes, but Ophelia's Snipe, the violet avian equivalent of the Stranger, had died of a heart attack. Ophelia only wanted a friend, and so she kept the body up there for company, despite the other Strangers' silent grouses.
Perhaps, in these little pods, were also some little ones.
Ophelia desired company. And company she will get, maybe. A pod had fallen into the forest below Ophelia, and the elevator monotonously hummed to be used.
A friend she will get today, and this one she will NOT lose like last time.
The slow trudging of the Stranger's feet were of no importance; it would take hours for the pod to cool down.

Mortis barely moved as he watched what looked like a falling sphere of some kind hit the Terran of Cradle. What the, did it come from the falling hunk of metal? He though, however before he could think on it any longer a Knight popped. By the look of this person they where heavily armored as if they were going to be hit with heavy weapons of some kind.
Slowly he turned the rest of his body and looked at the man, woman? He did not know, but this person looked as if they where human. At least he hoped it was human by the body frame. Not knowing if he should have said anything or not Mortis just looked down at the Knight, assuming it was a Knight in his mind, all he could do was stare.
What is going on? How long was I in the grave, and since when did humans falling from the Sky be come a normal thing? Then again look who is talking, I am a Slag Walker in armor...Not helping my self. What should I do here brain, well whats left of my brain anyway. He thought, thou he did not move not knowing if this person was hostel or not. Rather waiting and watching its actions.

The Skylark broke into the atmosphere with a force that would contend the gods themselves. Gallon could only watch in shock as the behemoth of a vessel veered closer and closer toward the planet's surface. The woman had yet to answer, oblivious to the ship that was getting closer at an astounding rate. The Lancer looked back and forth from the ship to the woman. He was confused at what to be amazed at more. As the Skylark impacted cradle. a single thought shot through Gallon's mind, that he had not thought of in a while. The safety of other's beside himself.
"Get down!". Gallon threw himself toward the woman, who grew a very suprised expression on her face, as she was brought unexpectedly to the ground. The shockwaves of the Skylark's impact blew like a strong wind, over the tall grass and trees, sending a cloud of dust over their bodies.
Gallon opened his eyes after the quake, and found himself face to face with the woman, still showing a suprised expression, but nothing more. Feeling himself start to get quite embarrased, he backed off as soon as he could, and offered to help up the woman. She remained on the ground, not reacting to his offer, as a sparkling object started to descend rapidly upon their position. Gallon heard it at the last second, as it impacted behind him.
"Just...stay there". He said to the woman, still laying on the ground, looking slightly suprised. Gallon readied himself toward the odd object that looked like a capsule. Man or Demon, he would protect this woman from whatever emerged. He was starting to feel like his old self again. Like he was back then, as an Almirian Bronze Lancer.

Fennel, seeing a person climb out of a fragment of the ship, immediately slipped into the woods, weaving between them like only a person with years of experience could. His hand tightened on the hilt of his blade as he quietly snuck up behind the humanoid and his capsule like machine. With a lunge, he drew out his blade and held it inches from the person's neck, muttering,
"You now have a very sharp metal blade with easy access to your neck." His other dagger was drawn out.
"Make that two. Now, if you make any hostile movements, I will not hesitate to plunge my weapons into you." Fennel's arm tensed, ready at any moment to execute this person from the stars.
"First question. Who are you, and why did you come here?"

As the elevator winded down to a stop, Ophelia could see the billowing pillar of smoke high above the interlocking branches of trees. The fake sun shone harshly through the leaves, creating an emerald kaleidoscope above and around the path.
Her objective was not too far away.
The Stranger trudged on, determined to find out the contents of the pod, when the forest's shades began to tint purple.
If, in the local language, there was a swear word to say, Ophelia would mutter just that. But Strangers didn't have one; there was no need for it.
With a slightly faster pace, Ophelia shuffled through the toxin-laced brush, ignoring the secreted poisons with little care; they were the least of her worries.
She reached her goal soon enough, and found out she was a tad bit too late : A pack of Rabid Wolvers were already circling the pod, growling at the sizzling hunk of metal that they dare not touch. While territorial, Wolvers were often stupidly curious, always sniffing up places where their snouts could be burned, frozen, or ground into sausage. And yet, this bad habit caused the adaptation of many sub-species of Wolvers, for they undoubtedly bred quick.
Rabid Wolvers were the more aggressive ones, but nothing a Stranger, even that of an inexperienced one, could handle. Noiselessly, an Obsidian Crusher was plopped in their midst, and as it triggered, a swirling mass of appendages groped air and fur for prey.
And so the entire pack of hunters were hunted.
~~~
It was high noon now, precisely six hours since the crash. The pod had cooled down considerably, and whoever was inside should be coming out soon enough...
After an awkward moment of silence, Gallon spoke. "Hello there. I am Sir Gallon, ex-Knight of the Almirian Elite Strike Force, the Bronze Lancers. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. May I know your name, fair maiden?" The girl chuckled softly, but offered no reply. Fennel suddenly pointed at a burning object in the sky and shouted, "LOOK OUT!!" Almost immediately, Galllon tackled the girl to the ground to shield her from the shockwave.
She hated being touched.
Gallon got off of her and muttered, "Just...stay there." He and Fennel advanced on the pod from different directions. Fennel crept into the woods and ambushed the knight that emerged from the pod, holding a blade to his neck. "You now have a very sharp metal blade with easy access to your neck," he whispered menacingly. He drew his other dagger and added, "Make that two. Now, if you make any hostile movements, I will not hesitate to plunge my weapons into you."
"First question: who are you, and why did you come here?" But his question was left unanswered. A force field suddenly pushed Fennel away, the two blades glancing easily off the knight's armored neck. A moment later, Fennel found himself face to face with a very pissed-off knight holding an armed bomb in his face. "Ah ask da questions 'ere," the knight declared angrily in accented Common.
Then a familiar, beautiful voice rang out, "Don't hurt each other, I beg you!" The golden-haired girl danced up to the knight and curtsied. "Pray tell us; what is your name, good sir?" The knight clumsily got off Fennel and managed an embarrassed bow. "Sorry ma'am. M'name's Cypreus."
The sun seemed to light up with renewed vigor when the girl smiled. "Pleasure to meet you Cypreus!" She giggled and began to dance away towards Haven, still leaving a trail of flowers behind her. Cypreus glanced at Fennel and offered him a hand. "And...sorry 'bout that, mate. What's yer name, big fella?"
Herston yelled and pulled at the dirt, as he sobbed in pain and frustration.
"Help!" He cried out again, and sobbed.
He was trapped underneath a piece of rubble from the Skylark explosion. His survival kit still inside the escape pod. Somewhere in his mind, a voice told him to calm down, but he couldn't.
He sobbed, hoping someone could hear him.
Fennel shook him by the hand. Heh. He reminded him of how he met Basil. The day after they fought, they apologized...in the hospital.
"Fennel," he said softly. Logic coursed through his mind as he realized that this person may not be alone. Gesturing at the wreck of the metal, he asked,
"Anyone else out there?" Fennel perked his ears, and could just barely hear a cry of pain somewhere in the woods. Where Wolvers were. Who didn't like to be disturbed.
Well, I wasn't planning to use this day anyways.
Gallon inched closer toward the pod at a fast pace, and looked around the metal capsule, only to realise the smoking remains of the pod's doors had opened. Looking at the ground from the pod, there was a light trail of footsteps leaving the area. Conflicted about staying with the Woman or pursuing the mysterious "target", his mind was made up quickly when the Woman bounded down the pathway in a series of graceful leaps and skips once again. Flowers still eminated from her path. Gallon looked once again in amazement at the sight of flowers spawning in her wake, even after the recent events that had unfurled.
"Hey, wait up, er..ma'am!" Realising he still had no idea who she was, that was the best name he thought of on the spot. Sighing to himself that she would cause him more trouble than she may be worth, the Lancer sheathed his shield & spear onto his back, and made off down the path post-haste, to try and catch up with the woman.
He stopped. The woman had entered into the forest, and was just visible through the mass of trees. She seemed to be addressing someone in a calm and sophisticated manner. Was it the target? Gallon didnt take the chance that it may just be a snipe she'd taking a fancy to, and pressed into the wilderness. He began to hear other voices, two seperate voices. How many of these were there? He listened closely, while bringing his fast-pace down to a creep.
"...And...sorry 'bout that, mate. What's yer name, big fella?" One of the targets asked. It seemed like these two didnt know eachother at all. Gallon came to a complete stop, not wanting to miss out the reply of the 2 figures.
"Fennel", he could just make out. The other figure was speaking far quieter than the other, and from his dark outline through the few trees seperating him from Gallon, the Lancer could see him to be a fair bit taller too. Gallon creeped forward toward the two, intenetions unclear of what they wanted. The mystery surrounding that odd woman would have to wait, this was far more important.
""Anyone else out there?", The Taller figure exclaimed in a louder tone. Gallon was about to wonder how he had revealed himself, when he heard a desperate cry for help. Feeling the need to protect start to take over once again, he got up from his position, and jogged over toward the group, taking a chance, and hoping that if anything did go wrong, his Lancer training would save him.
"The sound is coming North West of this position, in otherwords, a few 100 metres that way from where that thing crashed down". Gallon shouted over in his formally sounding voice. This wasnt a casual meeting, he had his official game-face on. Before they had a chance to react in words or actions, he spoke once more.
"Im sure you both have questions for me and eachother and that can all be explained later, but those cries for help are getting more desperate by the second, so we need to hurry now. This was, come on". Gallon hurried through the bustle of trees, hoping for the others to lend support or follow while he tried to pinpoint the exact source of the cries.
Mortis watched everything happened infront of him. It was astonishing what the person could do, just by placing the shield infront of them a field popped up and knocked away the other man. Wait, they missed me. My only chance at asking what was going on and I am letting it get away. Turning and walking in the same direction as the others Mortis slowly followed as quick as his body would let him.
"Wait...come back..." He said, but his voice was so hollow and it was hard to speak yet he pressed on trying to get there attention. "Come, on...come back here..." However he was excited to see the other Almirian, but at the same time he needed to say he was not an enemy. Thou how was going to be the problem since he was a walking coups.
Looking around while he walked Mortis wondered where the Hissing sphere object went the Knight was holding, his name was Cypreus? Ya thats what he called himself. Not seeing it he kept going, each step feeling as if it where a mile and wishing he had some one to help him. Come on body move faster then this! He yelled in his head, only to have his body respond with a brisk walk, That will do I guess...
Cypreus never ignored a cry for help.
He charged through the woods, leaping over hills and logs, ducking under brush, and occasionally tripping over his own two feet. If there was any wildlife in the area, they were staying well away from the bulky knight. Already, he had at least three unusual friends; one was a really tall masked fellow, another looked like a Knight in ivory armor, and the other looked undead.
He charged into a small, burnt clearing, where there lay a smoking escape pod and a trapped knight underneath it. He braced against the pod and said, "Hang in there, buddy. We'll get you outta here." He planted his feet into the ground and grunted. The pod, unfortunately, did not move much. He tried again harder, causing the pod to rock a little, but was still unable to remove it. He glanced at Gallon. "A little help here?"
The girl, meanwhile, had simply vanished during the commotion.
After I left Almire, I thought "I should look through some books or even a dreadnaught or guard that isn't hostile to find out their weakness. But, where can I get books because Moorcraft Manor's books have been eaten by Black Kats."
After an hour of running, I got tired and looked up and saw some pods falling from the sky and said "Uh-Oh, are these knights or enemies?" I see some pods crashing in the forest and slowly went towards the direction of the pods and I saw some other figures there. I looked carefully and saw a bomber, a girl with golden hair and 2 almirians... 1 of them was a crusader and the other was an almirian shadow guard but his face was odd.
I then hear crying but it was quiet but I knew the rough direction of where it was coming from. I then see the bomber rushing in the direction of the crying and went in the same direction. After 5 minutes, I saw a knight trapped by rubble and the bomber trying to move the rubble. I said "Don't worry, I will help as well." I start to push the rubble with the bomber.
Fennel looked on as his new friend and the other new stranger struggled to move the wreck of a capsule his companion was in. He didn't bother to help. No way was he going to be able to move it. He was over six feet tall, for crying out loud! Trying to help by bending over and pushing was like having a six year old girl straining against it. He also doubted that their combined efforts (with the undead knight) would be able to move the pod. It seemed to have nearly welded to the ground.
Looking closer, Fennel saw that the metal walls had weakened slightly. Maybe the stress of the impact with the friction had debilitated it. Either way, the Stranger was going to take advantage of the weakened steel.
Kneeling, Fennel hacked at the pod in a deliberate fashion, trying to remove enough of it so that the others could more easily free the man.
"A little help here?"
Gallon responded almost immediately, as a flash of an idea sparked into his mind. Unsheathing his spear, he stuck it under the main chunks of rubble at the base of the pod holding down the man. He positioned a stone that had blown off the landscape, and positioned it midway up the spear's handle. Putting down all his weight, he used the leaverage to start to move the pile of ship wreckage.
"Give me hand with this. It's a heck of a lot more effective than you moving this crap by hand". Gallon continued to press down with all his Almirian might, as he glanced around at the crew that had formed on the scene. An estranged stranger, The Mysterious fellow he came out of the 1st pod, and a much larger and bulkier Guard. What was interesting about this one was that he bore the symbol of Almire. No Golden Wreath around it, nor a Trench Coat so they weren't a Lancer, but still...it woud be interesting when asking questions later. Gallon looked down toward the trapped other while waiting on others to help him push down, or the pod to move from his own strength.
"Dont worry kid, we'll have you out of there soon enough, and then we can find out what the heck you guys are doing on Cradle".
Mortis had finally made it to the wreckage. It had taken him longer then the others because of the fact he could not run for some reason, his body just did not allow him that. What he found should have surprised him but did not, instead he just walked over and started to help the one who he assumed was Gallon by the way he intruded himself just a moment before.
"Push, harder." Was all the Shadow Guardian could say as he reached down and applied his own weight on the shaft and heved. It was odd because as he pushed he noticed that he felt stronger then when in life but he would have to anlize this later. For right now he just stuck to the task at hand, and that was to push down with everything he had in him.
As he heaved down he saw the other pushing on the side and one man hacking at the side of the metal. "Make a, path." Mortis said as he was talking to the man hammering away at the side of the Sphere object. "We can free, this one...by making a hole and lifting, this mess." His words were slow but he tried to get his idea across. Even if no one was paying attention to him.
I see the rest of the group trying to help except for the golden haired girl who seemed to have vanished. I gave up trying to push the big piece of debris and I heard the shadow guard saying something but it was hard to hear.
I then got closer to the smaller bits of debris and used my spear to remove the smaller debris. I flipped over some to try and make a path but the big piece of debris was still in the road. I put the spear on my back and see the knight still stuck but mostly free.
I then said to everyone "When the debris is gone, I will carry the knight out to safety." After I said that, I said to the knight in a quiet and soothing tone "Listen, we are doing our best and you will be fine when we get you out." It was so quiet only the knight could hear it...
Using Mortis' spear, Cypreus and Mortis managed to leverage the pod off the knight long enough for the ivory Almirian girl to pull him out. They then let the pod down, and Cypreus knelt beside the new knight. "What's yer name, par'ner? Mahn's Cypreus."
Not far away, a dark figure climbed out of the access point and cloaked to watch the scene unfold. So some of them made it. Excellent. It sped towards the next pod, its intentions unknown to anyone but itself.
I see the crusader and the bomber lifting the debris up and I pulled the knight out before they lowered it back. The bomber then started to talk to the knight but I coughed from the dust and couldn't hear what they said. I then took my spear back out in case we got surprise attacked.
I then realized, none of them asked my name but I did come in out of nowhere but none of them realize that I am a female since all crusaders and guards are male. The only one that might know is the knight.
((OOC: Couldn't really do much.))
Fennel glanced around the woods. A cool wind brushed past his face from the river as he watched warily for a Wolver. Never know when one of those buggers might get annoyed. More complicated than a Rubik's Cube. While blind.
All of a sudden, a chill ran up his spine. He whirled around, daggers out. Nothing.
Must be getting paranoid. After all, last time I was in a group, everyone else died. Horribly.
The Stranger scouter examined this eclectic group. Three Almirian Knights, a bomber, a woma-
What in Vog's fiery mouth?
Fennel checked again. Three Knights, the bomber. He squinted at the ground. No blossoms. Strange...Well, at least he could become more familiar with this bizarre party.
"Name's Fennel," he refrained from holding out a hand, as there were too many people to greet in this manner. "How about we all introduce ourselves, then we go and check for more survivors?"
Gallon was apart from the main group, as he pulled his spear out from under the Pod, and placed it back onto a sheathe on his back. Keeping the shield out, he walked over to the few he had spent brief time with and did a head count. There was an extra Almirian in the party, carrying the Knight that had been trapped under the pod. Gallon wiped his brow, if he was missing things like a whole person joining the fray, he must have had a bit too much to drink the night before.
A sudden feeling of paranoia hit the Lancer as he darted his head around, looking for what could have been the cause of it. He noticed the Stranger whirling daggers around, who must have sensed something as well. But there were priorities. There may still be more of these "knights" around. He calmed his nerves, as he stopped searching for whatever was the cause, and began to approach the group again. He made a mental note that although he should have a clean night, after all this, he deserved another drink. He perked his head up as the Stranger began to speak up to the group.
"Name's Fennel," he refrained from holding out a hand, as there were too many people to greet in this manner. "How about we all introduce ourselves, then we go and check for more survivors?" Fennel eh? Gallon thought to himself if he recognised the name, but no immediate bells rang out in his head. Shrugging, he introduced himself next.
"I am Sir Gallon. Crusader of a Secret Sect of the Almirian Crusaders, an Elite Member of an Almirian Strike Force, known as the Bronze Lancers. Long-winded, I know. But we never thought of introducing ourselves formally so often. So just call me Gallon". He looked in the direction of the 2 other Almirians, in hopes they can shed some light on themselves without the need for him to pry.
Alarms... Lights Flashing...Incoherent calls, ringing throughout the metallic halls of the Skylark...
Veru stumbled through the chaotic halls, walls painted red, the whole scene far more terrifying then it ought to be by the shrill screams of the alarm. The Skylark was truly met with its match, as the air in the ship became suffocating from the heat of the situation, more so than the friction of the pristine metal shielding forming the ship.
Unfortunately that would not hold true for much longer.
In that moment, Veru's mind was a void. Gone were the worries of the day. Gone were the safety precautions. Gone was the Order within the Isoran's only true world.
The Knights flocked to the escape pods, as the Skylark buckled under the mysterious forces of the planet Cradle. Veru crashed to the ground, tumbling haplessly as the whole ship convulsed. Vision blurring, he crawled onto his feet, as another Knight was thrown into him as the entire ship seemed to shift once more. It probably never occurred to anyone at the moment that a ship the scale equivalent to the Skylark's, would be unable to alter it's position with such tremendous dexterity, unless of course it was being torn apart. It wouldn't have mattered anyways.
Forcing his way towards any means of safety, Veru never noticed the ceasing of the alarms frantic crying, for it had been replaced with a sound far worse; the screaming of the metal disintegrating, and the whistles of various articles having been lodged free. Like a war zone, all that was the Isoran's home became an unintentional enemy. Veru gasped for breath, the taxing strain of attempting to move in the forsaken ship a trial greater than anything he had every imagined.
A shard of steel sung past his head, slicing a hole through the incredibly resilient walls of the Skylark like a Leviathan Blade through paper. Everything froze as Veru glimpsed a sight completely contrary to everything around him. The shock of the difference was absurd. A luminescent blue sky, like a portal into a completely different dimension, captured Veru's world for a fleeting moment.
Yelling, Veru cringed under the impact of something against his back. Completely losing all balance, he flew through the air, smacking heavily into a wall. Opening his eyes, he found himself face to face with an empty escape pod. A deafening howl breached through his ears, instinctively forcing him to look back. A figure vanished down the hallway, as the small puncture that had reveled upon him a new world, became a gaping rip, wind soaring into the cramped hallway. Flicking a switch, the doors to the pod swished open.
No longer touching the ground, Veru slipped and drifted off, his hands launching out and grasping a metal railing on the wall. Readjusting himself, he kicked off the wall and crashed into the pod. Smacking the deploy button, Veru collapsed to the ground as the pod ejected from the falling wreck.
Then there was darkness...
A faint buzzing lingered in my mind, which felt like it had been stuffed full of Nitronomes, when I awoke. A single red glow was the only light source available, barely fulfilling it's job of allowing any sight. Trying to get up, I realized I was far too weak to.
Why was I so weak?
Moving my hand forward, I tried to reach for the almost mocking crimson light. Grunting, I slumped back down, having been unable to reach it. What was the point? Frowning, I tried to clear my head, but the insistent pain made me feel insecure and unstable. Sighing, I gave up.
Where was I anyway?
That was a strange question. Shouldn't I be aware of my surroundings? It didn't worry me too much at first, for the pain was being far more insistent and urgent. But the weird question lingered hauntingly in my mind. Trying to take deep breaths and calm myself, I focused on what was important at the moment. My heart began racing and I gasped, breath halting.
Who was I?
As much as the question terrified and horrified me, and as much as I wanted the asnwer, my mind was slowly shutting down, everything returning to darkness. Who was I? Who was I?
Mortis looked at the small group as he simply watched, it was in that moment he brushed the dirt from the other 'pod' as they called them, off his face. Slowly he moved as he looked around, something in his head turned him in the direction opposit of the pod. What is that... Shaking his head he felt it move away and slowly relaxed a little.
Just as he was calming down he heard the people introduce them selfs. As it turned out he was right the man he helped with the Lance was Gallon. But this other person he did not know was called Fennel. Going to have to watch these two, I don't want another knife in the back. He though as he watched the one called Fennel hold his hand. The other knight called him self an Elite Almirian Stiker, last time he heard that a week before he died. Something about the Higher ups starting that unit.
Once they where done introducing themselfs Mortis opened his mouth to speak but it just came out so slow. "I am, Mortis...I should be, taking my final rest. But here I am," He coughed, as he did a little bit of extreme heated liquid bubbled up, "an Almirian. Or at least I was, I don't know where or when I am..."
Realizing his talking was more or less useless because even he heard his speech was slow. I need to find a way to communciate better then this...But how. Not like I could get a box that talks for me. His expression did not change, on account it always looked like he was angry and about to spontaneously con-bust.
"I'm..... Agh!" Herston cried out in pain as he felt his legs.
"Please.... No amputations... please" He whimpered as the two men exchanged words.
"Amputation?" Fennel gave a surprised word. "Is it that serious? In Cradle we usually just bandage and disinfect it..."
Fennel rummaged around in his bag and drew out the buns and the water, handing them to the bomber. Rolling up the now free person's pants, he examined the legs. Crushed, blue-and-purple. Broken bones, maybe some shrapnel in them, but he couldn't take them out without medical tools or training. No way he was walking back to Haven.
"If it's that bad, we'll need a stretcher to carry you back." Fennel looked at the ever-shifting landscape of the artificial world, retrieving two sturdy branches of wood. He held the pieces of wood parallel to each other on the ground next to the man with the injuries. Searching his satchel, he asked,
"Anyone got some fabric or something?"
Mortis reached up to his neck and pulled off some of the cloth he had around his armor. Ripping it a little and handing it over as he simply just watched. The undead taking a mono to silence then to that of word at the moment.
Grand, people are getting hurt and that thing, what ever it was. He crossed his arms and looked back in the direction his mind told him the presence was in. I might not have been able to see it, but I knew it was there. Further more I need to find some one who understands whats going on with me...I just don't know.
He turned back to the other Knights still deep in though, as if showing it he reached up and started to scratch his chin. No humans falling from the sky...whats going on now adays...
Ophelia held the little sleeping figure in her arms, slowly rocking it back and forth like a little babe. It appeared to be a sort of female alien of a sort, small even by the standards of the pod it travelled in. Ophelia could only guess its age, but as she quickly peeked under the helm, the smooth, plump skin signified youth.
The stranger had then slipped the helm back on, and sighed.
An hour before...
Ophelia had failed to anticipate the spread of the Snarbolaxes, and so when her stomach was stabbed clean through by a barb, the Stranger could only gasp quietly. Fluorescent green toxins dripped out of the wound, mixing in with the black ichor of the tall giant. As the barb left, Ophelia's combative instincts kicked in, and she dashed backwards as another trail of barbs perforated the floor below. Almost immediately, the ichor dried and sealed on the spot, sealing the wound without any further damage.
With her Gran Faust pulled out, Ophelia gripped the hilt and channeled a small surge of Crystal Energy into the blade, causing the reverberating phantasms to increase in the rate of pulsing a hundredfold. As the trails of perforated turf intertwined, a void of color surrounded the Gran Faust's blade.
As one of the Rabid Snarbolaxes surfaced, it was greeted with a strike the force of tenfold a charge attack of a normal Knight, and the dark shell over its fur was immediately split in twain as blade embedded into flesh, and cranial matter was void of life and vigor. A great flash of light blinded Ophelia for a second, enough for the other Snarbolax to shove Ophelia aside and tear out the front door of the pod. A little scream of fright ensued, and the Snarbolax's claw dug in.
Ophelia wasted no time in getting up and embedding the Gran Faust into the great beast's neck, causing another bright light to flash. In the places of the two predators' corpses were fangs, to which the stranger pocketed in her great robes. After this had been done, Ophelia leaned down and peered inside the pod, and saw the frail alien inside, apparently having fainted from fear, but was relatively unharmed.
The Stranger took the rest of the small Knight's equipment, pocketed them in her long folds of her Robes. She then picked up the little thing in her arms, and suddenly froze.
The robes of Sight was going to thrust her into a premonition or a past memory.
The Stranger closed its eyes and took it into account.
Warmth engulfed her, and she felt small. She could feel two firm hands, cold and dry, support her back and neck.
It was the Knight's point of view she had experienced, but for what reasons she had not known. It would seem that she'd have to contact the Apocrean in the future to consult with the meaning of this.
Back to present time...
Ophelia had decided that she would keep this little one. She had found it vulnerable, and she would see to it that she would not fail to care for the little one as she had done before.
From her limitless inventory, the Stranger procured a bowl of the Devilites' signature Sinful Brew, and allowed the little one to sip from it. The Knight squirmed and softly mumbled from the brew's side effects, but released her tensed pleasure by breathing out.
A side effect for many organisms, the Sinful Brew brought waves of euphoria and heavy stimuli to the ones who drank from it. After a long period of many doses, feelings such as fatigue, pain, and depression would disappear. Thus, this created the perfect aphrodisiac and/or anesthetic to Devilites.
Strangers, however, were among the very few organisms who could resist the brew's effects. Because Strangers lacked the conventional organ systems, they only received a feeling of general euphoria before the chemicals were absorbed and converted into energy molecules.
Ophelia took a sip of the bubbly thing herself, and gave some more the little Knight. Another wave of intense pleasure, and quiet soon followed.
This was how nightmares were eased, though it was a cruel and queer way to do so.
I hear everyone saying who they were but I had a weird feeling as if someone was watching us. The knight then yelled in pain and Fennel went to get something with the shadow guard Mortis giving them something as well.
I said "I will introduce myself later but we need to get this knight to a hospital." I look in the big piece of debris and noticed some items inside. I climbed in to see what was inside but there wasn't much except for a master blaster, a master bomb and a piece of kit. I put my spear and shield on my back and picked up the items and climbed back out.
I said to the knight "Are these your items in this debris?" I look around and see Fennel and Mortis made a stretcher for the knight but I lost Gallon and wondered where he went...
I thought "After we get the knight to the hospital, I should go back to finding books. I wonder if Candlestick Keep's have books but Black Kats would be a problem."
Herston smiled as the two men wrapped the cloth around his leg, and winced as it made contact. "I was afraid that I would need amputations. I suppouse that's a good thing, seeing as I'm so short."
Then he frowned. "Urm.... are you going to be carrying me?" He gave himself an awkward grin, as he grabbed a small bit of 'MIST' in his mist tank, and inhaled it.
OOC: I'm assuming MIST is still there to power the elevators, but we no longer need mist to use elevators. So we can.... maybe use mist as a... adrenaline boost?
Gallon paced around the side of the forest, pacing around the tree line wondering where the Golden Haired Woman had disappeared to. He glanced back to the group, who seemed to be dealing with the injured Knight with some sense of care. Knowing full well they would end up heading to Haven's Medical Facility, he decided that he would try and pursue his own goal and meet up with them later. Despite talking about priorities of finding other survivors, there were still 2 thoughts that wouldn't leave his mind. The 1st was the motive of these "Knights". Why were they at Cradle at all? The 2nd was more pressing in his head. The Golden Haired Woman. He needed to find out where she had vanished to. Without a word of leaving, Gallon set off into the forest.
The greenery was like a blur as he rushed through the woodland setting, manouvering over logs and far-fallen pieces of debris. Gallon was looking out for any clues to where the woman had gone. He thought that her constant skipping pace meant she couldn't have gone far, but then again, when did she even leave? Not focussing on much else other than clues, his Lance caught a low branch, flipping the Crusader onto his back, leaving him slightly winded as he impacted the ground. Trying to catch his breath and recover on the ground, he turned his head to the side, and saw what seemed to be a blossom. Like the one the woman was leaving behind. It may have been a naturally grown flower, or the 1st hint of her direction.
Gallon remained on his back, even after catching his breath, to think about why he was chasing after a woman he knew almost nothing about. Was it answers? Trying to find out her motive...or maybe just her name at the very least? He blinked a few times trying to focus once again. The stone he had picked up earlier was seeing to that, helping him focus and clear his head of other distractions. Supporting himself with his lance, he stood up and set off soon after along a trail of scarcely placed petals and buds.
Fennel took the fabric and wood, laying the timber about three feet from each other in a parallel fashion. Ripping some cloth four tiny strips, he twisted them until they had strength comparable to a piece of rope. Two of these he tied to the ends of both wooden branches, connecting them. As a final step, he stretched the remainder of the textile over and under the two ropes, holding it shut with the last two strips.
"Alright, this might hurt a little," Fennel grunted. He propped the knight up and slowly carried him onto the makeshift stretcher. Laying him down on it, he looked at the other two knights.
"I'm too tall to carry him; if I do, he'll slip off. You two'll have to take him back. Follow me!"
He set off at a slow walk towards Haven.
I look around and just see Gallon going in the forest and the stranger said "I'm too tall to carry him; if I do, he'll slip off. You two'll have to take him back. Follow me!" I said "I am not strong enough to carry the knight to Haven."
I then move towards the forest and look for Gallon who left without a word. I see him using his spear to balance him but he seemed to be looking for someone who I think was the golden haired girl. I got to Gallon and said "Gallon, are you OK?"
The Lancer, filling with doubt if he will ever find out who the Woman is, stops his pursuit, realising that it'd be a fool's erand to try and catch up with someone who may not even be there. He shook his head as he heard footsteps rustling the ground behind him. His wits not feeling up to par, he slowly turned his head to see one of the other Almirian who looked much more like himself than the other brute of a Warrior. With the feeling that he should probably call it a day, he noticed that the Knight was asking him a question, in quite a feminine tone.
"Gallon, are you OK?" She said, as Gallon was taken back slightly. He had never heard of a woman being admitted into any part of the Almirian army, save for becoming a Field Nurse. How was it that this one had become a Crusader, adorned in the classic Ivory armour and equipment to accompany it. Feeling the need to just answer the question, Gallon replied simply:
"Y-Yeah. Im fine. Just thought i'd clear my head of this whole situation". The Lancer didn't think he should reveal his overbearing interest in finding out who the woman was, until he had worked out why he had such an interest in her himself. He then put a question to the Almirian with him.
"Shouldn't you be helping the others carry that night to Haven's medical bay? His legs seem beyond repair for any field equipment or improvisations to handle". In all truth, Gallon couldn't care less about the safety of the Knights. His mind still rattled with the question from earlier about these new-comers.
Why were they here? What had drawn them so close to Cradle that'd made them lose control and crash? What motives would they have now that they had crashed? With the fact that theyr'e armed and geared up, it didn't seem like a Peaceful objective. Gallon decided that he would have a private "discussion" with the wounded Knight before the day was done. Away from the others, ofcourse.
"Come on, let's just go and catch up with the others", Gallon exclaimed, pacing out of the forest, toward Haven.
Gallon had turned and around and said "Y-Yeah. Im fine. Just thought i'd clear my head of this whole situation." I still had the feeling something was watching us and then Gallon said "Shouldn't you be helping the others carry that night to Haven's medical bay? His legs seem beyond repair for any field equipment or improvisations to handle."
Before I could replay, Gallon then said "Come on, let's just go and catch up with the others." I never got the chance to tell him I was a bit weak to carry the knight and started to follow Gallon. As I was following him, I accidentally tripped and when I got back up, I lost sight of Gallon. I decided to just go in the same direction and hope for the best.
As I got near the edge of the forest, I heard an elevator and decided to move towards the sound. When I saw the lift, I looked at the symbol and it was a question mark and I then stepped on the lift and it started to go down. The lift then glitched and started to speed down into the ground and crashed.
I got up from the elevator crash and see I was in a Graveyard. I took out my Crest of Almire and my spear and started to move forward. As I walked by graves, no zombies were coming out and I thought "Weird, zombies normally come out of there graves in graveyards... As I walked farther, I saw a gate and a switch nearby. I stepped onto the switch and the gate fell down.
I went farther and saw a pumpkin thing standing and swaying from side to side. When I got past a certain point, the gate behind me locked back up and the pumpkin said "Tee hee hee. What does the Punkin King have for thee..." I said "Punkin King, he's the harmless/ dangerous threat depending on what he said."
Gallon suddenly gets the feeling that he's being watched. It's the creepiest feeling in the world; his hair stands up on end, and he becomes paranoid, looking around and behind him to see who is following. His mind races as he considers who in the world would want to watch him; his friends? His enemies? A fangirl?
A small trio of bluish eyes can just be made out in the foreset a little ways behind him.
OOC: Man, we really have to introduce ourselves soon. I can't go around the whole RP with "injured guy" and "random Almirian knight" forever! c:
Hmm...How to get this person back to Haven?
Fennel looked at the remaining cloth in his hands, then at the stretcher, then at the Mortis. Tying the fabric into a rope-like substance, he tied it around one end of the stretcher and gave it a tug.
"All right," he said. "Get the other end of the stretcher, and I'll pull. We should be able to get him back to Haven. But first, let me go and scout ahead to check for obstacles."
Leaping forward, he swiftly navigated through the forest until he came within sight of Haven.
Good, no river, no boulders, no tight passages, and most importantly, no Wolvers. Sue estimated that there were hundreds peacefully living here.
He backtracked towards the injured man. "No roadblocks or anything," he reported as he picked up the rope and prepared to haul. He motioned towards the wounded one and asked, "Say, what's your name?"
Gallon was moving down the path at a continually quickening pace. He never noticed the Almirian falling behind, and pressed on without her unaware to what else may be lurking behind him instead. Gallon did not pause until a chill ran up his spine, which made him stop in his tracks. He stood in place and surveyed the area around him, turning his head from his left to his right.
Something was watching him from the shadows, with a Trio of ominous blue eyes. Gallon turned around to face the back, just as he thought something may pounce upon him. He readied his Lance & Shield, and scoured the landscape even closer. His heart beat became steady and audible. He scanned the area even slower and carefully to find wherever this thing could be hiding. An almost un-noticable twitch in a patch of bushes made Gallon focus on that point, as he began to advance.
Edging closer to the foliage, he prepared his Lance to strike in one smooth motion...
Mortis watched as the Stretcher was made and questioned its design. Sure it would get the downed Knight back, but it would take too long by dragging all the way to Haven. Shaking his head he walked over and looked at it while they where moving giving them plenty of time to get the Knights name, or at least he hoped since he stopped paying attention to the conversation.
I could lift him, stretcher and all over my head. It would be much quicker then dragging because less resistance...Ya hope they don't mind this. With that in mind Mortis walked over and dead lifted the wooden Stretcher, Knight and all, over his head. Placing one hand under the wooden construct where the Knights chest was and the other belt was. For a moment Mortis almost regretted the idea until he found his balance and started off walking. Since he walked natural slow anyway, his speed was the same as if Fennel was dragging the Knight.
"Sorry, this is...much more, efficient." He said as he marched on, keeping his upper body steady and still while he let his feet handle the Terran below. Image of this was back then. Humans falling out of the sky, they would think I was mad...well I am dead so thats close enough. The Almirian Shadow Guardian though as he walked keeping his head forwards.
The Morai Wars have brought us to the brink of extinction.
We, the crew of the Skylark, fled to the stars
seeking a source of incredible power, our last
hope to save our homeworld.
What we discovered was beyond imagination.
We discovered Cradle.
The technician rubbed his eyes. He'd been losing sleep for several days now, with no end in sight. He was just about to lay his head down on the display when the monitor flashed.
Data overload. Cannot display energy signature.
He tapped the control button again, and got the same result. According to the scanner, the signature was coming from the planet below. He tapped the com unit on his helmet and opened a channel to Captain Ozlo. "Captain Ozlo, the Skylark has identified the source of the powerful energy signature.""At last. Begin preparations for descent. We must harness this power..."
Suddenly, the monitor turned red as the energy signatures transferred from a uniform distribution to a localized area close to the ship. The amount of energy down there was just...just...staggeringly enormous! And...and the rate of transfer! Impossible! He slowly tapped the com unit and exclaimed, "Captain! Energy signatures are shifting! I've never seen anything like-"
But he didn't get to finish his report. The radio channels stuttered and died as several powerful rays of energy struck the Skylark and began to drag it out of the sky. Unable to withstand the immense forces acting on it, many delicate components of the ship began to shatter and explode. As the bow started to tear and rip off, the captain got on the intercom and uttered his last command.
"All hands: Evacuate the ship immediately!"
