It is now illogical to be able to craft down from radiant crystals but not up.

since radiants are so scarce now, why can't we craft upwards ?

Remember when all you would find in tier 3 is Radiants? I sure do.

It's perfectly logical. When you change matter from one state to another in any non-perfect system, you lose some matter and energy in the process. Therefore it makes sense that you can reduce Crystals into something of lower quality, but not the other way around.

You can smash a diamond into smaller pieces but you can't make a big, perfect, non-cracked diamond out of smaller diamonds.

I wish I had a cheaper crystal-smasher

We use the same machine to break down our crystals as we do to craft higher level gear, which turns out rather flawlessly to my eyes. Perhaps it's the fact we don't use orbs of alchemy that our crystal transformation cannot go the other way, but I honestly think that we just throw crowns at the crystals until they split and become dimmer, which always turns out to be 500 crowns in the radiant example.

Crafting gear is not a closed system. You have your gear, which is the reactant, and you're adding further energy and materials from an outside source, increasing the total matter and energy of the system.

I don't see why people are complaining so much about this. Wasn't this done so that knights could heat up their equipment quickly so that they could get the obsidian weapons? Knights literally complain about everything. I doubt OOO would make something like this permanent knowing that it would enrage many players. Have some faith in them!

Ok so, Hexzyle, could we combine say... 3 shining fire crystals to make one Radiant? If not 3, could we use 5? if not 5... ok 7:1 is kind of ridiculous. nvm ¬_¬

Yeah, whatever.
I was just being technical for scientific enjoyment reasons, I'm really not bothered by the actual gameplay implementations of this idea ^_^

There is no excuse for the administration to alter drop rates before instituting a new method of getting them. The only reliable method they have right now is, conveniently, the supply depot or shadow lairs (which are tied to the supply depot). Fishy, huh?

If that's not the case, please correct me OOO.
