Auto target range

I started researching auto target as you might or might not have noticed and I happened to notice that different weapons have different reach on their AT so I gathered info on that. What I mean with range is how far the AT is still in effect. If you're too far away from an enemy, it doesn't work. The range is thus how far you can go while maintaining the AT cursor on the target.
Here is the data:

Here's how I measured swords: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62299665/Spiral%20Knights/Auto%20tar...
Here's how I measured guns: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/62299665/Spiral%20Knights/Auto%20tar...

I will gather data on arcs once I figure out how to do a proper measurement tool in Auto Hotkey (it's about drawing on top of the screen, could anyone help me?), although I doubt swords and handguns are anything but 90 and 45 degrees, respetively.

Thanks to Zeddy, Petitmoon, Simaster, and probably someone else I forgot for helping out with weapons I don't have.

I'll try to do this later. Might take a couple days though.

great

Great! I love to see data like this, although I don't understand it yet...

Please do follow up with your measurement protocol, and an explanation of what it all means. Are we basically concluding that there are two kinds of auto-target in swords? The 2-kind and the 4-kind?

Also, please change the phrase "unconfirmed data" to something like "prediction, not data". Mixing data with predictions is very dangerous, as the "data" exist to confirm predictions in the first place.

@Bopp

I made a couple of pictures explaining how the range was measured. Hope that clarifies. I could even make a video, I suppose.

Changed the phrase :3

In other news, I have no idea how to make an overlay as I wanted to in AHK. Screw me!

I think I get Bopp's question. Where do you stand to measure it? In the tile? at the edge of the tile? Feet on the line? Feet behind the line?

Pardon the late reply, I don't visit this subforum often.

I stand at edges of tiles, thought I made that clear. Sorry.
If it's a 1 tile range, I'm standing at the line where the 1 is in the pic and so on, just like a ruler!

Sorry it took so long

No kidding, it is broken. The blackhawk normal shots reliably hit at the 6 range and occasionally at the 7. I'm not too sure how it works but I think it might have something to do with my inching backwards slowly. Anyways, the autotarget reliably targets the fiend bag at 7 even though the bullet doesn't always reach. And the charge attack is totally out of whack. It seems to have its own autotarget but I could be wrong.
