EDIT: The fact that he resigned before the gunner update and arcade redeux is a little concerning.
EDIT 2: Is the name Nick up for grabs? /lol /kidding

Let the water works commence.
In seriousness, I wonder what he's going to do now.
all right Nick, now you have to tell that darned #10. come on.
and if I get the implications of what he said right, I don't like where this is going.
EDIT: disregard the second sentence, I didn't read it right. still don't like where this is going though.
on a side note, I'll search for your adventures Nick, as I know many of us will. let us know of your other games, I would like to see those.
I... I'm speechless. I think I talk for everyone when I say nobody expected this.
You will be remembered. Thank you for letting us be part of that dream of yours.
Though I always missed you by a few seconds in Haven, I want to give you a heartfelt goodbye. You have helped create a world that thousands deeply, myself included. On behalf of Tainted Perfection and every other knight out there, good luck with everything you do in your life Nick. We all love you for the world you've helped give us. If only we could return the favour with a big hug and a hot chocolate warmed to perfection. Best of luck Nick Popovich.
I wish you the best of luck with whatever it is that you plan to do in the future. So long as you're happy, that's fine by me. I'm sure I speak for a lot of us when I say this. We trust that you've left the game in good hands. The team will continue to do you proud.
You have my sincerest gratitude. Thanks for working on one of the best Free to Play games in my opinion, comparable to the likes of some retail games. Farewell, Nick. :)
Nick you have made hours of joy for me and my brother... I wish you the best of luck.
Can I have your stuff?
Now who will we blame for everything that's wrong with our lives?
bits, you have his stuff, it's called "Spiral Knights".
Farewell, innovative intelligent Impostocube. May your feet- er your squishy movement forever leave footpr-er squishprints in time.
So...what happens now? :<
Best wishes Nick, from the family Leon de Eneval. (guild) We look forward to your new ideas.
You still never answered how you get your daily life accomplished without having hands but that asside we lovers you <3
Thank you from Aegis Team... for helping to create a game that brought so many different lives together.
/cry
You'll always be in our memories you squishy cube.
May your slushy trails lead to a bright future.
this community hasn't given you too much white hair.
It's sad to see you go, Nick.
Although the community is a hassle including myself, we often lashed out at you directly and often blamed you for the great game you have given to us. Spiral Knights is an ever-changing canvas that helped me with problems and I'm glad I got to enjoy the game under your vision. It was unique in every aspect with a sense of humor and color around the world itself.
I have no idea what direction Spiral Knights will head now and I have no idea if you'll ever be around here anymore but I hope that the freedom as an independent developer will grant you the freedom to create another beautiful experience just like Spiral Knights.
Goodbye, Nick. May the future be bright for you and your love of Video Games.
I remember watching Nick IRL here:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rzhLR-9t5ss
a few yrs back. Good luck on your endeavors Nick.
The question is....who is the new leaader? Hyperion?
Thanks for everything Nick. I wish you the best of luck wherever you go.
I thought you learned your lesson in Hyperion taking over on Pandora.
Let's not make the same mistake on Cradle.
Nick but you can't go! ;-; without you Spiral Knights will be gone for ever!
Cradle will explode into a Google of little bits...
Please post regularly!
I can't let you leave like this...
Nick.
I've got a million words to say but I'm having problems finding them. You're probably also too busy with your on-moving stuff to read a million words, I know I am. I will say this:
I respect you. Whatever I may have said or done in the past that may have indicated otherwise has never been out of disrespect. Quite the opposite. When I have raised my methaphorical voice in protest, it has been because I care about your work. When I nitpick your announcements and your wording it has been because I am engaged by what you say. Also because I had way too much time on my hands. Good times.
I have respect for you as a game designer and as an all-around cool dude. If you're pursuing new things to develop on your own terms, I think that's great. I'd love to see what you can cook up in the future, and I'll certainly be paying attention.
This, hopefully, is not a "goodbye". It's a "see you soon". Or, well, "sometime in 2020"; we all know how quick you are about getting things done.
Good luck out there, you magnificant bastard.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Can you tell us what number ten is?
On this day next year we should do a 1 min silence for Nick on these forums.
No one will post anything...
Good-bye Nick. And to all of those who are worried, if Nick trusts this team, I trust them.
...
You know, it's always the bitter sweet things more then the truly sad things that make me sad. The fact that Nick is that small knight getting ready for the next adventure...
=')
Be ever Valiant.
It was nice having you around Nick. We will all miss you. I hope that which ever path you now take will lead to a bright path. Farewell!
(Wait, how did he escape Cradle anyways?)
Goodbye Nick and thank you for bringing us Spiral Knight, a game that I have played about 2300 hours in Steam and it never get boring for me.
I just hope that Spiral Knight keep going in the right way now that you aren't with us. I have really enjoyed editing the SK wiki during the last year and meeting good players in the game.
PD: I still feel lucky when you answered me a question about doing Shadow Lairs on Elite Mode!
Congratulations, Nick!
It was an interesting ride to watch the game grow and change under you.
The world outside the walls may be a little precarious, but there's true freedom out there.

also, lol@bitsbee
I'm not one for goodbyes, but I gotta say something this time.
I've spent a lot of time on these forums and in-game criticizing a lot of different decisions, design choices, and gameplay elements. I might have been a little aggressive, but it was all intended to better the game. In particular, that Battle Sprite megathread I made and kept revising over and over..
I just want to apologize if I ever came off as overly antagonistic.
From a dragon to a mustachioed jelly cube,
GG.

The timing of this is pretty unfortunate, and I really hope it doesn't imply what I think it is.
It is quite sad to see you leave, Nick! Looks like you'll be opening another door that leads to a new adventure. Good luck and farewell, Nick!

"I thought you learned your lesson in Hyperion taking over on Pandora.
Let's not make the same mistake on Cradle."
While I'm sure you would all enjoy my strange chemical experiments and extremely accurate weaponry, as well as my unique employee-motivation tools and strategies, I'm not a developer, so am not going to be taking over as project lead. ;)
Personally, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Nick does next, with the added bonus that it'll be a complete surprise for me!
Now? Hmhmhmhmhm...
Let's go /cry in Haven! >:3
(I will stab anyone that doesn't get the Meet the Medic reference)
I feel bad uninstalling the game now. But since I made my first steps to the Rescue Camp, tiptoed to Haven, called the elites "noobs", beat Love Puppies with my Rigadoon, used my Prismatech MKII like a sword, failed at bombing, discovered every corner in all the Royal Jelly Palaces out there, made a Blitz, bought OCH, and got ASI UVs on my two brandishes, I will have to say thank you. I loved this game and will continue to be on the forums, supporting new knights (and maybe noting a few Wiki errors). Your game was and is well built, and I hope the team can make it even better. Enjoy the life of an indie and bring others to the game that you founded and we built.
As Twitter said, you may have [left] the game, but it will always remain in your heart [and our hearts].
Best wishes,
-U77654
Wait a minute...does this mean blitz will be nerfed?
Noooo! I have school work and stuff and this is what i return to? Them feels :(
I just hope i'm not too late to bid nick farewell!
@nick: in behalf of the swarm cows i bid thee farewell, its sad to see you go (even though i haven't actually seen you but you know what i mean). I know i'm not the only one to think and feel that the love and dedication to the game you created is a genuine one, i felt it and its magic... heck we all did.
We only ask that wherever and however you proceed with your career you will look back and remember us :( - because i gotta say, the wizard behind the magic that is Spiral Knights will be sorely missed.
Mooo!!!!!
/salute
Thanks for the best game I have ever played!
I hope you have good luck making your next game,
I can't wait to see it!
Bye!
Agreed. I am thankful for your contributions to this beautiful game Nick, and I wish you luck on your new exploits.
