A discussion about balancing weapons in the game.

Weapons are unbalanced. Everyone knows that. But how do we balance them out? If we put our heads together, maybe we can figure out how this problem can be solved.
Why am I talking about it? Because this problem was the reason why Super Brawl, a PvP Game with classless combat, was removed. It is the reason why people are complaining in Lockdown about overpowered weapons.
This isn't really a suggestion, only a discussion. Focus on swords and bombs, because the gunner update already balanced the handguns.
Buffs:
The leviathan blade's charge attack should have it's range slightly increased.
The wild hunting blade should have its beast damage bonus lowered(or removed), and it's normal damage increased.
Nerfs:
Acheron's damage should be the original's damage, and the poison varient's damage should be less than that.
All brandishes and Faust/Avenger lines should deal less normal damage.
The warmaster rocket hammer should have less speed or damage???????

Currently Normal weapons (and some others like Status flourishes, and shards) are underpowered. The question is how to balance them all. The GU was fine and all but to balance every weapon in the game would take a long time. Deciding what to nerf/buff while dealing with updates, maintenance, prize boxes, etc. would be a strain on OOO.
If OOO/SK was taken in by Nintendo and not Sega you could probably expect to see much more progress (Nintendo has pretty high standards for it's games, Sega on the other hand has been slipping even with it's main series Sonic since '06).
Of course Nintendo may not be that good at recognizing markets either, after all they didn't hire the guys who would go on to form iD Software. iD software went on to make legendary titles such as Quake, DOOM, and Wolfenstien 3D.
You also have to consider that this game isn't run by the community, SK may have fell back on community advice back in the early days but IKD about now...... I haven't seen a Mod in suggestions since I joined the Forums (and IK it's there from Necroed Threads)

I don't play LD, so for what little this is worth...
As the next step from where we are now, in order to make Super Brawl viable, I'd be on board with the oft-suggested idea of disabling trinkets, UVs and such, because the difference between "baseline" weapons and heavily boosted ones is enormous. _Maaaaybe_ also give every one the same number of weapon slots, too, and have everything function as if it were at the same heat level.
I've felt the difference between Troikas and Jelly Swords, between Pepperbox and Needles, and it's tiny compared to the difference in performance that UVs and Sprite perks can make. As such, talking about weapon stats adjustments as fine as the difference between Nightblade's and Fireburst's damage sounds like getting ahead of ourselves.
Perhaps in some naive sense it should also work to separate into many finer tiers instead of just 3 broad ones, but we don't seem to have the playerbase required and it would be kinda difficult for most players to keep many loadouts at the same theoretical "power level" while doing the usual upgrading and stuff we do for PvE.

My advice is to focus on a few weapons in this thread. If the thread tries to address everything about balance, then it gets too chaotic, with players talking past each other rather than responding to each other.
