Who agrees the game should be HARDER?

Now, don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying to put 24 mechas in the arena instead of 12, but I think the game needs to be a bit more CHALLENGING. Now, all of you have different opinions. SOme newbies say no, and some expert players would want the health of every monster in FSC, including the boss itself, to be doubled. You can challenge yourself, by using weak armor, such as ashtail, and soloing FSC, but who would want to risk their hard earned CE? I'm suggesting, increase the health by just a little bit for the monsters on each level. It may seem insignificant, but the need for an additional swing to kill each monster can make the level harder.Specifically for arenas, instead of those dumb spikes, why not use statuss inflicting floors depending on the status of the level? Or you can add golden Drones (Those things are freakishly annoying.). There's no point of adding monsters to a level, explosives got that covered, and it might also cause some lag.

So, give me your thoughts and ideas.

What I'd rather see...

Before we start just raising the difficulty across the bar, I'd rather see is the difficulty on current stuff evened out. For instance, I can clear a Wolver Den with one hand tied behind my back every time, but Devilish Drudgery and Candlestick Keep have good odds of killing me even with the proper gear.

-I've heard stories that Wolvers used to have better tracking when attacking, bringing that back would be a good start. Chromalisks should spawn cloaked, cloak more readily, and maybe have a slightly longer attack range (but still attack from close-up).
-Slimes could have their elemental identities strengthened. Self-igniting Oilers, Toxigels that spew poison gas (or leave poison blobs like in Compound 24), that kinda thing. Low-level Lichen colonies could stand to be more interesting, too. Maybe if they got a speed boost the smaller they are.
-Retrodes rays could explode a little faster, and Skuttlebot attack area could stand to be larger (and maybe be a true cone, rather than a bunch of bullets). Although I do think that enemy Mecha Knights need a longer wind-up time on their generic sword swipes, but the random self-shocking can go away. (And if I never see a Rocket Puppy ever again, I wouldn't shed a single tear.)
-Gremlins are mostly fine, although the little ones could stand some kind of buff and the Flamethrowers' flame trails should chase players rather than being random. (Same for Flame Puppies.)
-Mewkats are fine as-is, but Zombies should get the same knight-tracking buff for their leap and breath attack. As for Phantoms, see my previous comment on Mecha Knight attack speed.
-Fiends need no help. Devilites should be nerfed if you ask me, but that's another topic.

Most monsters are dumb and slow. Thats the problem.

A wolver spends it's day teleporting and staring and you. And when he does decide to atatck, waits forever charging a single bite.
Greavers on the other hand start stalking you even before you notice them.

" instead of those dumb spikes, why not use statuss inflicting floors depending on the status of the level? "
Relative, depending on armor and status, spikes can be more dangerous :p

Of course the experts want

Of course the experts want the game to be harder cause they have epic armour. Personally i think that skeletons and chromas need to be harder. Wolvers can get pretty hard in large packs.

Should chromas have full cloak?

There should be a other chroma, and it should have the ability to fully cloak, but the cloak weres off, and when it get's too close to you, about 2 squares away, you will receive the recon warnings like in lockdown.

I actually think the trojans in T3 need to be buffed. They should have like a weak shield on it's back that can break, and will regrow after around 6 seconds. Their recover from those sword slams should be much shorter, giving you only a small window of oppertunity to strike out. Their health should be buffed like X3. Trojans are basically MINI BOSSES. You don't just kill it in like 3 hits.

Juances, Nobody except the devs can really make the monsters intelligant. I don't exactly agree with slow, though. The zombies are quite slow, as well as lichens.

What else needs buffs? kats are gud. zombies are gud in my opinion. devilites are OP(no, i just hate them.). Maybe the pit boss throws his mug at you instead of beiing completely unprotected. The yesmen should heal other monsters, and have a trident for stabbing you if you are too close. However, they don't throw it. Scuttlebots can completely use a buff, but we need some weak monsters. Lumbers should leave an explosion when they hit, so they have a big radius. Best plan in the world. Mecha knight shields deflect projectiles back at you instead of blocking it. Turrets should have a faster turn speed, and should have a charge attack that fires the five bullets and three magnus bullets. All of this is for Tier 3.

The papaya thinks.............

@Shotjeer
"There should be a other chroma, and it should have the ability to fully cloak, but the cloak weres off, and when it get's too close to you, about 2 squares away, you will receive the recon warnings like in lockdown."

Now, I know that games don't have much logic at all.....................But regarding the fact that its a Chromalisk (the design is probably based on the Charmeleon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chameleon) and that its a natural monster, I don't think this would be possible................Besides, Chromalisks are quite stupid.............it takes them like, 3 seconds to charge up an attack. If they were able to fully cloak, we'd be constantly running into "invisible blocks" (The Chromas), wondering what the papaya is wrong, and then realizing we've run into a Chroma..................

I'd rather arcade maps have as much monsters as that in fsc.

So.

@papaya I just feel the half cloak iis utterly useless for them, added that the fact that charging up their attack takes 3 seconds, you'll easily dodge that. Another monster idea: Grimalkin, dunno what to name it, unkillable in the dark, but in the light, it shrinks down to a killable kat of that tier. When it dies, it will spawn again in the dark. To make it harder, the spookat should be 1 tier up, and have like 4x as much health. The tier three ones will shoot explosive bullets, like pulsar(hey, they are ghosts)

Zaffy-Laffy, the maps would probably expand a heckuva lot, the crown payout would be higher, etc. We need quality monsters, not quantity. Quantity will lag, give more crowns, CE prices go up up up. Blast Furnace should have shadow fire.

Battle arenas prove that you can throw lots of mosnter in a small space and all you have to do is kitte them in circles.

So yeah, numbers arent the problem. There's still the "too dumb, too slow" problem

One thing I learned in arenas

BRING A BRANDISH LINE TO CHARGE SPAM OR YOU ARE DEAD!

Above tactic is really effective against all those 12 mechaknights.

Basically, the newbs will never be good in the game

And it will be because of the difficulty. Why not add a option to make the game "Hardcore"? That means you won't be able to be in a full party. It should be in the options, and in a category.

Hardcore mode. Or make the shadow lair have an option of Unknown passage, or something else harder. Snarby and ice jelly will keep unknown passage, but RT and darkfire vana will have something harder. It keeps the swarm stuff, but instead of swarm monsters it will be incredibly buffed monsters. Since there's like 7 gates to open, each gate will be a wave of elite monsters. To name a few, buffed trojans, namely health, large groups of annoying monsters like devilites, and the last wave should include 4 trojans, a heckuva lot of mechas, and other annoying stuff.

I agree!

I agree that tier 3 should be harder, other tiers should be left alone. Also, new monsters with new tactics would help a lot.

Maybe some of you can look at my thread "Blandaxt compund ideas" and see how hard i suggest it should be. It's just sitting there and everybody is avoiding it just cause it has a lot of words. Sheesh!
