1. Wishlist
Anyone who plays through Steam knows where this is going. It's annoying when you can't seem to find the item that you want anywhere and even more-so when you have to tediously dig through the forums, zone chats, and any other method you use to track down that item you want. Here's how it works:
When you search for the item you want, but the search turns up empty, the AH will re-route you to the item and ask if this is what you're looking for. If it is, you will have the option to put it on your Wishlist and whenever one appears in the AH, you will receive a notification in your inbox telling you so.

2. Retract Offer
It's been suggested before, but we really need it. Don't you just hate when you see a really pricey item and you just want to preview it, but then you accidentally hit the Bid or Buyout button instead? Well now, you have the option to retract your offer. Now, there is a small detail that may cause a problem:
When the person retracts the offer, it automatically goes back to the previous bidder's offer UNLESS that bidder has spent their funds or has no further interest in the item. The previous bidder will receive a notification in their inbox saying that they still have the chance to reclaim the item but will only have a set amount of time to do so depending on how long the bid time is. If they would like to, they can simply say yes on the message and the funds are taken back out of their account. If they say no, this process will repeat with the person who bid before them and so on, ect. ect.

Well in the real world, one does not simply accidentally bid on an item. I've accidentally bid on an item once or twice and it's really annoying waiting for someone to outbid you, plus you unintentionally drive the price up. Kind of a lose-lose on both ends if you ask me.

However, most auctioning systems have an option to withdraw a bid, after a lengthy verification purpose. This most likely won't work for Spiral Knights: GMs have better things to be doing than to be correcting people's misbids.
In the case of the Auction House, where we do not have a method to identify who is selling us the item, nor do we have a way to correct a misbid. I do agree that some sort of auto-rectification process could be implemented. The problem that stands currently however, is upon being outbidded, your money is immediately returned to you. What do you expect to happen when you withdraw your bid? For the money to be stolen back off the person and dumped onto the item that you outbid them on?

1. I'd prefer an option to make buy offers alongside sell offers. Could work the same way items are sold now, only the other way round:
You put on an offer to buy an item with {maximum price} and {minimum price}.
Sellers than might click maximum price (analogue to bidding), and each time the price goes down a little.
Alternately they click minimum price (analogue to Buy Now), and sell you the item.

The problem that remains (in the thought experiment, not talking about implementing it) is the fee. The offer has to cost something or AH will be loaded with junk offers. Plus, Crown Sinks are good.

Some items already have a default fee, and some have a default price. With the sales, the gods of SK are even now deciding what some box and promo stuff is worth, too. (Don't know about low price stuff like goggles, for example, though. Are they ever going to appear in sales even?)
Anyway, an inverse relation to that (the more money you want to save the higher your fee, and vice versa) would be ideal.
In this case, the fee would solely be with the buyer, too. They want the service, they have to pay for it.

A different (nearby) station might make more sense in that Auction House is an Auction House, not an agent. Maybe someone could talk Kozma into doing it.

Notifications would be nice for that, and the normal AH business, too.

2. No. Pay attention to where you click.

3. Could tie in with 1. After all, there already has to be a list of items to pick what you want to buy from. Might as well use it to preview.
(Spiral Spy is useless to me; it doesn't give the names of the items, so I can neither search for something, nor have it tell me what something I look at is called. Without those basic functions it has no function.)
