FIX auto aim or auto target
dib i realy wish that was true but when am playing i can tell if there wepons was close enough to hit my body and if it wasn't and it still hit 95% At was involved i wasn't close enough and there wepons still hit me :/ i wasn't lagging either. show me your'proof ' that it doesn't give you extra range 1st <.< also this is coming from a guy that play's LD wayyyyy to much T_T so i have lot's of experience with this kind of stuff
Ranting about AT in-game isn't exactly worth it anymore, considering 9 out of 10 Lockdown addicts that constantly whine about AT probably use it themselves. The amount of hypocrisy in the Lockdown community is so pathetic that I just sit back and laugh these days at people who call out "aa noob" or "dat at nub" or any generic "AT noob" response to getting killed since day 1 of Lockdown being released. This pretty much sums up the people who complain about AT use:
They die, it's Auto Target-using noobs that can't play.
They kill you: They're #mlglockdownpro2014 and make a thread in "The Coliseum" about how awesome they are at Lockdown and how everyone else should bow down to them and their ASI VH/CTR VH weapons and Increased stun/shock/fire/poison resistance: Maximum! UVs.
95% of the Lockdown community is the biggest joke I have ever seen.
But anyway onto your point, I don't think it really needs to be nerfed. The efficiency of AT, your hitboxes, opponent hitboxes, etc. all come down to server latency. If you have the 1 bar of death, good luck landing a hit and not GETTING hit from 10 tiles away and teleporting into invisible haze bombs/bullets. If you have the godly 4 bars of awesomeness, swing away, comrade.
I play Lockdown, too, I just don't really care about what people are doing as long as they're not being dumb tryhards who don't understand what having fun is.
You can search up for proof straight from the Coliseum sub-forum. All AT/AA does it change where the active hitbox is, letting you get the furthest possible range you can out of an attack but it in no way actually adds range to the attack, only makes it more precise.
@Khomie i always have 4 bars own windows 7 even if i go own eu :/ but the ghost range still occurs >:U but what can you do T_T
I'm about to get a Chris Crooker picture and that black dude saying "surprise mut...."
"Leave AA Alone.... Or Die Trying"
I thought this Thread would be forever gone... Sk problem is definetely the community
^Tell me a game that has a perfect community, and die trying. It doesnt exist unfortunately...
Guys, fighting AT is pointless. Just grab your polaris and spam their skill-less AT butts into a corner as punishment for having no skill. (Ironic, eh?)
Implying a community is bad only mean you seen bad community.
A lot of indie game have great community... Torchlight II is a fine exemple of it thanks to all the workshop mod the community made to make the game better.
Minecraft is one of them too. The community isn't bad there, when you step in LoL, CoD or SK you gotta wear a tight helm though
^That last semtence¿ True that.
Never played those games tho© but ill take ur word for it.
A tout a l'heure
I looked at all at all of he's vid's and information that he called "evidence" and am not satisfied just yet for the most part
#1.he did a good job for the most part summing everything up #2 not every thng was"ligit"in some of he's video's to begin with.
Now about the part where i mentioned "ligit" first off let me tell you the dictionary's meaning of legit 1"legal; conforming to the rules,"In one of he's video's he decided to proove At does not give you "ghost rang" how he tried proving that by attacking one of the training bag's over and over agein while steping back and forth with every strike he makes.
Now comes the play of the word ligit meaning "fallowing by the rules" 1st how can you disproving AT does not give you extra range by not turing your AT off and own when swing your wepon A second time and who said it alway's give you extra range O.o there are lot's of things that people still don't know about AT, pretty much all he was trying to do was put your mind at peace from the unknown.
He's furum isn't ground breaking he did one test for ever fact or"myth" one's not good enough to stop years of arguing-___- when in history has A scientist prove a ground breaking fact by testing and runing some thing one time <.< But not only one time being the issue but also why did he test ever thing in the same place ,why didn't he try it out own any missions or in a live LD game .-__- Am by no mean's saying he didn't do a good job am just specifying he could have done better.
It was good I guess but that wasn't enought to finally PUT A END TO ALL AA RANT'S. :/
@Shamanalah:
The communities you mentioned aren't bad because they aren't as competitive as "Lockdown" or heavy PvP games. So yeah, if we remove LD from SK, its community is probably as good as any other indie games out there in the store.
Not for or against this, because it doesnt matter anyway, however AT does practically increase your range, and you can try this your self.
Standing the maximum distance from an opponent (or punchbag) and facing the directly, you will hit the bag with or without AT.
Turn 45 degrees or so away from the punchbag, staying in the same position and you now won't hit it without AT, but with AT on, you will.
What this means in practical actual gameplay terms is that if you aren't accurate and with your cursor, AT can be the difference between hitting something and not, because a sword's swing is eliptical in SK.
+1
You're a *@&%#! if you think AT is fine the way it is in LD.
@Bzzts You are definitely correct, but I think it is thi instead:
AT causes you to constantly hit at the optimum range of your sword, due to the nature of the swing.
AT is basically the equivalent of:
A-a tennis player ALWAYS hitting the ball in the center of the racket (volleys would never end)
-a baseball player ALWAYS hitting the ball in the best spot on the bat (always home runs)
-a hockey player ALWAYS hitting the puck on the right part of the stick (perfect shots every time)
-a Top Shot competitor ALWAYS hitting the bullseye of the target (no one would win)
-a soccer player ALWAYS hitting the ball perfectly to get it in the goal (goodbye world cup)
Point is, the thing that makes any competition fun is human error. The person who can consistently hit the ball as close to the optimum place on the tool they are using as possible is the one who wins. That is why sports are how they are: pure test of human skill, which is fun.
This is also why AT ruins lockdown. Having a few people who can constantly hit with the optimum range doesn't make it a real competition, it makes it a test of who has the better ASI. Lockdown is a joke, unlike real sports, because in real sports, you don't have a near perfect system aiming for you. You do it yourself.
If lockdown is to be a fun and competitive minigame that PvP in any game should be, AT needs to get out. If it will remain the domain of who has the best UVs, then it will remain a joke of a minigame.
Honestly, polaris spamming is a legit counterstrategy to AT. You're fighting a computer at that point, and theres nothing to be ashamed of if spamming a gun beats a computer.
Last sentence: I am legtimately thinking there is a best route: Nerf polaris and remove AT from LD simultaneously, or do nothing. Interested to see the outcome. I hope OOO remove's AT from lockdown, it would be pretty awesome to see the truly skilled flourish. No excuses for losing to someone, just a pure skill match. Ok rant over
@ Dragneel
PvP and kids don't go well together, Halo community isn't garbage at all... just need a KDA of 1.5 to be listened, which is much easier to accomplish than proving yourself as the god of LD here with all those inflated head
I'm still a god in BN though
Edit: Also to every LD player (not directed to dragneel) stop calling Time-Phantom an AT guy, he never uses one... and all you big boys called him an AT guy. If you can't tell who's using AT then there is no advantage at all. He's one of the best non-AT hammer wielder of the game... Hands down
Did someone just say the Minecraft community isn't bad?
aa improves range and stuff because i can hit the further range with my aa, OOO rilly needs to nerf aa so that the game won't be broken like it already is because of aa. my waifu is ded because of aa, screw aa and all it stands fur. aa also killed my chances of being moneis out of bag, and i need better heaalthcaare because i am broke because of aa.
I'd bother but I see that OP has yet to understand how latency works so I won't bother.
I love how these arguments go literally nowhere, and how two weeks later, the same exact people do it all over again.
This isn't even a debate anymore. It's a bloody pissing contest.
If one is actually peeing blood, one should go see a doctor.
Everyday, every week it's the same bunch of people posting about the same things and the the same people posting witty comments and the same bunch of people complaining and the same bunch of people criticising everyone.
Nothing new, people. Just overlook it.
I think we are getting more repetitive than the things we find repetitive.
FIX player base plz
yep every one was right AT doesn't give you extra range and that was just my latency kicking in from poor connection.
we should keep playing spiral knights cause its what every one enjoys ^^ and keep giving them money cause there is nothing at all wrong with spiral nights in the lest bit ^^ all hall OOO rings O.o
Now it just looks like OP is whining about AT without explaining their problems with it.
The only problem with AT is when you are with recon/friendly mecha/freed knights your AT aims you at them rather than the devilite that is readying a copier manual for flingage.
If AT increased range then bombers would know, since my BAB doesn't get extra range when I AT, I say it doesn't affect range.
As a guy named Autofire, I'm expecting a lot of backlash for just posting here, especially due to my support of AT.
My favorite Extra Credits video.
Now, does this apply to AT? Absolutely! Noobs (as well as lagging players) need to rely on it. However, I myself have tried AT sometimes, and it's usually much more limiting. I have snapped to face the wrong thing, among other problems. This is particularly painful when using guns, since I need to lead, and AT prevents that.
@Thread: Also, always use AT with bombs. Makes blast radius bigger.
This video does not entirely apply for SK. For guns, yes. Swords, which 80% of the LD meta, is an entirely different thing.
The problem is that AT will objectively be better than no AT as long as AT doesn't cause you to only hit one player when you could hit more, which is not at all often. AT is a FOO strategy but there's no better alternative that requires more skill, AT just reduces the amount of skill needed while being the superior option in terms of player performance.
also this is coming from a guy that play's LD wayyyyy to much T_T so i have lot's of experience with this kind of stuff
I'm really happy that Zeus recognized his connection issues. Most of the range whining I see in LD tends to be something like "your [weapon] has so much range wtf" or "how did you hit me from 5 tiles away" - all of which are resultant of the server seeing them behind where they see themselves (--> connection issue, duh).
Point is, the thing that makes any competition fun is human error
...and aiming in the right direction ISN'T the end-all to landing hits, unless you're using guns against a melee player. Because it doesn't matter if you're aiming in the right direction if you're out of range or get hit first by your opponent.
Because of connection issues, people tend to either be too far (miss) or too close (so AT "range gain" doesn't matter) to their opponents, and they'll either swing too early (miss) or swing too late (get interrupted/attack doesn't register because it "never happened" on the server).
The people who do really well in LD (...and BN) tend to have a combination of:
- having a better connection
- knowing how to lead attacks (and defensive movements) to counter connection lag
- being able to predict other peoples' movements
this problem still in the game???? why haven't they made AT allways enabled or just plain removed it from lockdown????
allways enable... you can't whine because you're using the same thing
disable in LD... you can't whine because either you like this way it or you just need to practise some more (wich i don't think would be a problem now would it)
other solution... (this is a bit far fetched and don't think can be realised)
ranked lockdown... like loadout (F2P shooter) used for competetive players where the beginner lvl's are AT and after a few lvls it gets disabled and voila! everybody wins.
Auto Target has been here since day one, and will always be here to stay... like The Swarm, it's "...Endlessly mirroring... Expanding... Infinite." You cant stop it. so just play the game and quit worrying about auto target. =)
It's been proven that AT/AA does not give you extra range, it only fixes your hitbox within a certain angle.
